I always preferred these rounded Crown buses to the more boxy Blue Birds when I rode the bus to school in the 70's. My great aunt was even my bus driver for a year. Our school district numbered the buses making it easy to know how old it was (6-71 was bus #6 built in 1971.) Not sure if they altered things in the conversion, but the double doors in the back was for a (relatively) small boot. Not sure about that swing-out arm on the front, later years had a flip-out stop sign on the rear side that extended when the flashing red lights were activated. Our rules were the lights had to be activated whenever passengers were getting on or off the bus, even when parked at the school and they parked about 6 inches from the bus in front so that arm wouldn't work. The drop-down side windows had a tendency to go crooked if you didn't latch both sides perfectly. Lots of memories of these buses.
As an American, I was expecting you to fix a hamburger or a hot dog for dinner. Love all the American license plates decorating the bus, especially the Indiana plate given I was born and raised in Indiana. I am loving this new series, Will. Now, you need to come to the US and take a class A coach out.
So that stop button in the back is actually a button to stop the startup/shutdown alarm, makes the driver walk to the back to make sure all the children are accounted for
I moved to the US when I was 5 and grew up being picked up from my street near home and dropped off after school. I also remember seeing this at vanlife festival at Stratford-Upon-Avon 2022!
That’s a true home on wheels. It’s a dream. I have probably a similar solar system with 4 leisure batteries. A worry to drive arround if it’s not yours.
When you were trying to drive it for the first time with the owner watching right behind you, I could feel the stress through my screen. It's like learning to drive with your dad all over again, except way more difficult
Omg. Even though i haven't watched you for a decently long amount of time, I first watched you when you started the 'living in Nepal' series when you had around 5k subs. It's so good to see you crossing 200k subs. Keep grinding will!
Will, you did it again, another entertaining surprising a-class video and I'm probably right in assuming you must be the first person ever in the UK to review a converted american school bus. Can't wait for the follow up video on this video...
@@simonsmithson2566 that is a very nice setup! You really made good use of the space. Driving that on the narrow British roads has to be bad enough but with American style steering that really must come with some challenges!
@@claudiakarl7888 You're right the driver would have to stick to bus routes, It amazes me how well London bus drivers manage tight turns on the old streets.
What a legend Simon is, and a great sport to boot. Great vid Will and after sitting in this at a couple of shows just know it's as good as you made it out to be. Epic. Great vid mate.
Yet another fab video mate! To be honest, I had my feet clutching/breaking/accelerating alongside you while you drove the 10 meter long bus. Hope no curb was harmed during the filming 🤣✌️
Funny, we were so close together at, what I presume is, the same time. I was near where you are on Friday - Saturday. I don’t think I saw you unfortunately.
Love last week in VW bus, but this week was a hoot. Didn’t know how hard it was to drive a school bus. That’s a long school bus . I’m American and never saw one that long. Will thanks for this series. I’ll enjoy being back in your beautiful van too Cheer from NY
Hi Will, you did a really good job trying to drive that bus, I think my left leg would have given up, that’s a lovely bus, so nicely done up, basically just a lovely home on wheels, the older vehicles have character and American as well, all the better, I bet that gets some looks in the uk. Great video Will, I think these types of videos are good for you Will, your getting to meet people which you like, and different vehicles every time, which is what we like. Keep them coming. All the best and thank you. Xxxx

Only watched a couple of your vids as they popped up randomly and I'm glad they did ! Who knew I'd be so interested in a portaloo on wheels I can sleep in 😂 great work keep it up !
In 1998 I passed my bus test and drove coaches, mini buses and double deckers. The Deckers used to terrify me to drive but they were great fun on a skid pan. I did a full 180 rear wheel skid on a wet surface, it was one of the most scary yet exhilerating things I've ever done.........
Binged watch all your vlogs all weekend. Seen your ups, downs and mishaps. Love how you keep your constant raw and not all this fake malarkey. Going from your van to trying others, not only funny at times but can relate to as I would probably match you for mishaps and I am way older and still haven’t learnt 😂. I did want to do a double decker bus up but seeing the length of this bus and you driving it, but it in reality for me that no a bus isn’t for me and go smaller. Thanks for your reviews and look forward to the next. Better go and smash all the like button now 😂
Really funny as I was watching a vlog on an American staying overnight in a school bus in USA this afternoon and thought that would be good for you. This one was in much better condition👍🏼😆🚌

Hi Will, This was a great video and I love that bus. My suggestion for a video with you staying on a boat overnight that of course has cooking and sleeping quarters.
