I almost died of excitement. Lol. Fallout 4 is my favorite of the games, but New Vegas is my favorite landscape, seeing as 3 and 4 take place on the east coast.

It's as simple as that, it is just a generation older; just like Mass effect 1 compared to 2 and 3. And 2 - The open world is... not implemented well. To ME, that particular story would have worked better in a more linear fashion.

The Ghoul probably didn't tell Lucy about Hank, because he didn't trust her. Lucy was looking for her father, so The Ghoul didn't know Lucy or owe her any explanation at the time.

@Archaneus He thought about it. Never said "oh you must be Henry's daughter," but was never said in that scene. There are still people that share last names in the universe that are not related. He put it together fully at the end when he saw Henry. Cooper had been tortured by a Don for years and buried, doubt he had knowledge of Henry or the interconnected Vaults or even of Shady Sands and their mother Rose. So no, he had clues, but that final scene is him finding out who her daddy was. He quite literally has a line in the scene that confirms it. Maybe you should watch it again.
Hawk didn't do what's necessary, he did what he want to do He decided to detonated a nuclear bomb 35k people in shady sands all because his wife left him and took her children
He also did it because it went against the whole VaultTec idea of humanity. They thought people would just eat themselves alive by the time they go outside. Turns out, they created a thriving society without these elitist monsters.
His wife was in on it from the beginning because it's the year 2077. And in their timeline, they have lived through 3 World Wars. And on the brink of a fourth War. She said when he was off at war in Alaska/Canada, she and the others waiting at home were constantly terrified and felt helpless. Her job allowed her to secure a future for her daughter and husband. And if you also didn't catch it, her villain statement, (raison d'etre) is : "Because when we are the only ones left, there will be no one to fight. This is our chance to make war obsolete. War never changes." She is not evil. She truly believes that she is doing the right thing.
I don't think anyone who thinks that dropping bombs and murdering millions and destroying civilization is a good person or "believes they are doing the right thing". Nobody with a shred of a conscious with even consider that. They didn't drop the bombs because they wanted to make the world safer. They did it because they wanted to control people and start a new civilization they could control how they see fit. Vault Tec is absolutely evil, and so is Coopers wife. Don't drink the company kool aid.
Also, the Betty in the Cooper/Hank meeting is the same Betty who is in Vault 33. And we also saw Moldaver in the flashback during episode 7, where she gives Cooper the bug and asks him to spy on his wife.

The rewatchability of this show is high! I like that so many people not into the games are watching the show too. It’s my favorite perspective to get from a reactor of this. I’ve only played one Fallout game (4), granted for hundreds of hours, but I’m going through them from the beginning now. Just finished 1 and playing through 2.
Dead on about expanding the fanbase, Just like GoT series or LotR films it reached far more people than just the hardcore fans but stayed true to the spirit of the source material.
The cool thing about the Fallout games, is that they are not skill heavy games. You don’t have to be good at video games to enjoy them. They are story based, and a large portion of the fun watching the character you created’s story unfold before your eyes based on your actions and choices and all that good stuff. Many people can play the same game and have their characters go through pretty different stories based on how the player chooses to play.
People who played the games are wrong, it's nice to have people who never played them react to the series. You should definitely do reactions to the trailers as there are enough to probably do a video or even a few videos. The line "War...war never changes." is a pretty big deal and was nice to finally see at the end of the Season 1. Everyone was wondering if they'd use it. The narrator for the games is usually Ron Perlman who says that line in the intro of every game except for a few of them. The city at the end is New Vegas and is the main setting for one of the most popular games in the series Fallout: New Vegas. That's also a big deal for the fans of that game. So New Vegas showing up was kind of a HOLY SHIT moment with a lot of oldschool Fallout nerds jumping up and down in excitement.
I found your channel because of these fallout reactions, and im glad i did. Youre incredibly charming with a good personality and are fun to watch, i thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the season with ya 👍
My only gripe is that they needed to explain a bit more for newcomers to the universe than they did. Explaining stimpacks etc to limit confusion but overall I'm impressed.

Actually it's not that simple ;) the Chinese stealth bombers and subs were incoming to the USA which took time to do, so it looks more like the Chinese knew they were about to lose the war plus learned about the FEV experiments, thus China was about to attack...and Vault Tec probably made sure of it by dropping bombs from their own space station onto the US. That's my 2 cents :)
The head writer for fallout 1 and 2 said the first bombs were dropped by China. It wouldn’t make sense for anyone else to drop the nukes- I mean, the US was pushing into mainland China and was about to knock on the front door of their capital when the bomb fell.

I'm totally with you. I think this show brought in a lot of people who likely wouldn't have ever played the games like me and made them fans. I hope they do this with a lot of other games because I just don't play them very often and would rather watch a show.
I played all the Fallout and yeah, they could be a serious time sink and not all people have the luxury or want to dedicate that much time. I just hope TV and film production people learn the right lessons from this show.

It doesn't matter if you played the game or not. It just means you know more about the lore if you did play. It's still fun for non-players such as Katie who just figured out the Pip-Boy. The game parodied lots of stuff and in this series they do a good job of letting the viewer figure it out later by only providing little bits of info. Example; they only showed briefly in one spot some soda bottles that looked like Coca Cola. They used that logo and called it "Nuka Cola" in the game. Also, I forgot that UA-cam deletes comments if you put in phone numbers. My previous comment was about episode 6 in which the black and white pre-war commercial with the guy had an actual phone number. Apparently the show did that on purpose for fans to call the number for some entertainment. Since I can't post the actual number people will have to watch that part or google it.
16:30 Being knighted and that suit means nothing to Maximus in the end of this episode. Maximus is already a changed person. The bitter irony of Maximus's character arc is that at the beginning of the series, all he wanted was to be knight. But here, in the end of this last episode, it's the last thing he wants because he tasted a better life when he was in Vault 4 with Lucy: taking hot showers, sleeping in a nice bed, eating good food, people being nice to him, kissing Lucy, falling in love with her. These are things he never experienced before in his life, so he realized that the thing he truly wants is to simply live a happy life with Lucy. Thus, being knighted is the last thing he wants because that means the Brotherhood will have a tighter grip on him. And he'll have to fight their wars that he doesn't want to fight anymore. And nevermind ever hoping to be with Lucy again. So, yeah, it's the bitter irony of finally getting the knighthood he desired in the beginning, only to realize that it's not what he truly wanted after all, like someone who went through so much trouble to find treasure, only to find fools-gold in the end. That's why he looks like he wants to break down and cry when they cheer him on and call him a knight. Quite a tragic arc.
The Ghoul didn't tell Lucy anything about her dad because as he said he didn't know that it was THE McLean. The Ghould knew him as Henry, Lucy knows him as Hank, so had he even asked her about him the names wouldn't have matched.

If/when you decide to play... New Vegas is generally considered the "best" but 4 is definitely the easiest intro for new players. It was a fun ride lady. Nice series

You're right, there's tons of clues, foreshadowing, and clever writing through the series you'll catch on a rewatch. "Don't Lose Your Head" vault poster; when the shop lady in Filly tried to tell Lucy she didn't belong up there, noted "You've got all 10 fingers"; Vault 32 messages on the wall about knowing what was going on, and wanting destroy 'management;' confusion around Max believing the bombs dropped in his childhood; Lucy mistakenly thinking she was so silly for thinking the sun in her memories was the real sun; 'snake oil salesman' telling the Enclave scientist he had serums to fix feet, which is played like he's making it up; Lucy claiming her dad would never approve of her destroying a community to save him...etc.
The phone number for vault tec was the possible planned date for the season 2. 213-25-vault is 2/13/25. Text the number and you're told to wait for 33 weeks. Basically December's season 2 trailer.
So much fun rewatching the series through Katie. It’s interesting to see some of the characters from Vault 31 to appear in the pre war era like Betty and the brain I believe is Bud. And the moment I realize Moldaver is actually a morally a good person with the remnants of the NCR, I sided with her over the Brotherhood of Steel. And the twist. Oh, the twists. Lucy’s mom was that feral ghoul and the dad arrives to New Vegas! Makes me wanna replay New Vegas again after all these years or see Katie play the game! Man, I am so hype for the next season after this!
It is totally not necessary to have played the games to enjoy the show, nothing is really ruined. Each game is designed to be stand alone to the point where they take place decades apart across two hundred years and in different parts of post apocalyptic US. They are also meant to be played as you choose: good, evil, neutral able to build your character how you like. The show itself is a good example of the type of things you'll experience but the reason it works so well is that it's not trying to retell a story. It does a competent job telling its own story in the Wasteland players of the game have come to know and love, which doesn't invalidate the other stories. I'll say that I'd be down to watch you play the games if you ever decide to do so but if you're taking advice about which you should play: Fallout 4 is the most current and most accessible and will be getting a remaster soon, it's also the only game that has given us a clear look at the world Pre-War, all the other games take place solely in the Wasteland. Fallout New Vegas takes place a handful of years before the events of the show and seems to be where the second season will take place so that may be worth it to have that wow factor when season 2 comes. Great story, lots of choices and has a bit more to chew on that Fallout 3. Fallout 3 is the modern entry point to the series, it was the first they did in full 3D and takes place on the East Coast of the US, far removed from most of the events we've seen in the show. It's a solid game and was many people's introduction into Fallout. In my opinion Fallout 3 was a kind of soft reboot of the series as Fallout was purchased by a different game studio and had a different team working on it and Fallout 4. Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are point and click, isometric designed and turned based combat. Which is to say they are old fashioned games, these two released in 1997 and 1998. Still worth a play, both have amazing stories and are a big reason so many fans are so die hard. Fallout New Vegas, to me, is the unoffical squeal to these first 2 games. It was worked on by many of the people that worked on these first two after the start of the soft reboot phase I mentioned earlier. In any case, all of the games are open world and are meant to allow you to explore and level as you go. Resource gathering, killing enemies, talking to people and making your way through situation after situation across large maps. They are all meant to sink a lot of hours into much of the time allowing the player to make their own fun. You can very much just go from point A to point B in order to complete the stories but it would be a different experience than what the games are known for. If you had to only play one I would say New Vegas, just in terms of what we're about to see in season 2 of the show and the fact that you like the cool cowboy badass vibe. But if you want something more user friendly and accessible Fallout 4 is not a bad choice.
No no. This series is absolutely an excellent introduction to the whole setting. It stands well on its own even for people who don't even know the games (of which there are seven or eight at this point, but each is a standalone title that doesn't require knowledge of the other games to enjoy).
Fallout is my favorite game series and this TV show is great. It does not spoil anything for people who haven't played the games because it is a separate story from those in the games, yet it is faithful to the lore established in the games.
That dark room with the table...that is actually from the dark satire on nuclear war: "Dr STRANGELOVE", one of the most famous films of all time, been used in many other shows, music vid etc ever since ;) Also, the end scene, that's "New Vegas": Mr House the head of "Rob Co" who was at the big table, saved the city from the bombs and he seems to be not a part of the Vault-Tec/Enclave scumbags. He's not a "good" person but he's not a raving psychopath like they are So he helped rebuild Las Vegas into "New Vegas", the setting for the third game which is FANTASTIC for story etc :)

Remember the NCR is become a hypocritical tyranny just like Pre-war USA and for the same reasons. "Yes Man" is a rogue AI...! Most folk don't really think about what Mr House's "ending" really means in New Vegas: he allows the Courier to be be more humane etc, but creates a barrier to both NCR and the Legion without slaughter, plus crucially, he rebuilds tech etc There's no "Good" ending but Mr House's is "less bad" and while Yes Man seems to be the "best"...there's hints he will go rogue.
If you like the Ghouls acting, you should watch the show Justified, hes sort of a main character to the show and it just tells a great story and his character is crazy and has such a wild journey through the series, what a great show.
When it comes to getting into the games following the show, I have a few recommendations: If you're more of a "cozy" gamer (Stardew Valley, Farmeville, etc) I'd start with Fallout Shelter. If you're into turn-based linear story games like Final Fantasy, start with Fallout 1 & 2. If open world "choose your own adventure" is more your thing, Fallout New Vegas is the best one to start with. If you're more of a Call of Duty/Modern Warfare/Fortnight gamer, Fallout 76 is your best starting point. If you like a fusion of open world, RPG, and FPS then start with Fallout 3. If you want an experience that's as similar to the feeling of the show as possible, or if you're really into "Tower Defense" type games, start with Fallout 4.

I think while Moldaver's motives are more altruistic, she was just as ruthless as anyone in the wasteland. She associated with raiders (the literal scum of the earth), and people feared her. Maybe we'll find out.

Play Fallout 4 and if you like it consider the other games But fallout 4 is the most newcommer friendly. Again, some Fallout Fans may beg you to start from the begining at Fallout 1. Do NOT let that be your intorduction. It was a whole different studio, a different type of game all together. Fallout 4 is the best entry game to the series

If anything they appear to be raiders that the NCR integrated or recruited or made a deal with. You don't have to tell me there are no straight up good faction in Fallout. On the discussion of whether Moldaver's followers are Raiders or NCR: They're neither. Moldaver doesn't hold a title like general or any other that is used by the NCR. Her people call her the "Flame Mother". Other characters describe her as a "witch" and cult leader. And their actions bear that out: her followers are a revenge cult that grew out of the destruction of Shady Sands. Her aims being altruistic don't change that her methods are really not. (So, about average in terms of faction morality in the wasteland, more or less...)

Loved the whole series, as someone who has played the games. That said, anyone saying you needed to play the games first? No. I agree with you that this does a marvelous job of working for people who had no idea about the games, as well as people who are fans of the games already. This will absolutely make some viewers of the show want to play the games. And fans of the games want to go back and replay them. Oh, and I get it about Cooper as a ghoul, and not necessarily Walton Goggins. Not me specifically, as in sexytime antics with that version of him. Lesbian leaning pansexual here, so if Lucy wound up a ghoul (or not), and with the kind of confidence, swagger, and ass kicking ability as ghoul Cooper? Hell yeah, sign me up. Monsters, mutants, or alien girls don't bother me one bit, if they're hot, they're hot. Also, really makes one think Cooper might have figured out Maximus was a total rookie early on back when they fought, and kind of just playing with him (unless he only picked up/made that ammo later, off screen). Also, the reason I don't think he told Lucy anything more sooner, pretty sure it wasn't till the scene with Roger (after killing Roger), that he learned her name. It was possible, even learning that, that she was just a distant descendant of someone he knew with that last name. He didn't know that was her dad's first name to connect the fanboy from Vault-Tech asking for his autograph in 2077 as the same person in 2296.
I've never played fallout ever however I do know a bit about some of the games. I saw the whole show and man when they showed New Vegas at the end I was like man this is gonna be the best TV show of the year. Maybe even better than Shogun

I’ve only played one Fallout game (4), granted for hundreds of hours, but I’m going through them from the beginning now. Just finished 1 and playing through 2.

Dead on about expanding the fanbase, Just like GoT series or LotR films it reached far more people than just the hardcore fans but stayed true to the spirit of the source material.
The cool thing about the Fallout games, is that they are not skill heavy games. You don’t have to be good at video games to enjoy them. They are story based, and a large portion of the fun watching the character you created’s story unfold before your eyes based on your actions and choices and all that good stuff. Many people can play the same game and have their characters go through pretty different stories based on how the player chooses to play.
People who played the games are wrong, it's nice to have people who never played them react to the series. You should definitely do reactions to the trailers as there are enough to probably do a video or even a few videos. The line "War...war never changes." is a pretty big deal and was nice to finally see at the end of the Season 1. Everyone was wondering if they'd use it. The narrator for the games is usually Ron Perlman who says that line in the intro of every game except for a few of them. The city at the end is New Vegas and is the main setting for one of the most popular games in the series Fallout: New Vegas. That's also a big deal for the fans of that game. So New Vegas showing up was kind of a HOLY SHIT moment with a lot of oldschool Fallout nerds jumping up and down in excitement.

My only gripe is that they needed to explain a bit more for newcomers to the universe than they did. Explaining stimpacks etc to limit confusion but overall I'm impressed.

Actually it's not that simple ;) the Chinese stealth bombers and subs were incoming to the USA which took time to do, so it looks more like the Chinese knew they were about to lose the war plus learned about the FEV experiments, thus China was about to attack...and Vault Tec probably made sure of it by dropping bombs from their own space station onto the US. That's my 2 cents :)
The head writer for fallout 1 and 2 said the first bombs were dropped by China.
It wouldn’t make sense for anyone else to drop the nukes- I mean, the US was pushing into mainland China and was about to knock on the front door of their capital when the bomb fell.

I'm totally with you. I think this show brought in a lot of people who likely wouldn't have ever played the games like me and made them fans. I hope they do this with a lot of other games because I just don't play them very often and would rather watch a show.
I played all the Fallout and yeah, they could be a serious time sink and not all people have the luxury or want to dedicate that much time. I just hope TV and film production people learn the right lessons from this show.

It doesn't matter if you played the game or not. It just means you know more about the lore if you did play. It's still fun for non-players such as Katie who just figured out the Pip-Boy. The game parodied lots of stuff and in this series they do a good job of letting the viewer figure it out later by only providing little bits of info. Example; they only showed briefly in one spot some soda bottles that looked like Coca Cola. They used that logo and called it "Nuka Cola" in the game.
Also, I forgot that UA-cam deletes comments if you put in phone numbers. My previous comment was about episode 6 in which the black and white pre-war commercial with the guy had an actual phone number. Apparently the show did that on purpose for fans to call the number for some entertainment. Since I can't post the actual number people will have to watch that part or google it.
16:30 Being knighted and that suit means nothing to Maximus in the end of this episode. Maximus is already a changed person. The bitter irony of Maximus's character arc is that at the beginning of the series, all he wanted was to be knight. But here, in the end of this last episode, it's the last thing he wants because he tasted a better life when he was in Vault 4 with Lucy: taking hot showers, sleeping in a nice bed, eating good food, people being nice to him, kissing Lucy, falling in love with her. These are things he never experienced before in his life, so he realized that the thing he truly wants is to simply live a happy life with Lucy. Thus, being knighted is the last thing he wants because that means the Brotherhood will have a tighter grip on him. And he'll have to fight their wars that he doesn't want to fight anymore. And nevermind ever hoping to be with Lucy again. So, yeah, it's the bitter irony of finally getting the knighthood he desired in the beginning, only to realize that it's not what he truly wanted after all, like someone who went through so much trouble to find treasure, only to find fools-gold in the end. That's why he looks like he wants to break down and cry when they cheer him on and call him a knight. Quite a tragic arc.

The Ghoul didn't tell Lucy anything about her dad because as he said he didn't know that it was THE McLean. The Ghould knew him as Henry, Lucy knows him as Hank, so had he even asked her about him the names wouldn't have matched.
Most likely he didn't tell her cause he was not sure about her involvement with him and Vaut-Tec.

If/when you decide to play... New Vegas is generally considered the "best" but 4 is definitely the easiest intro for new players. It was a fun ride lady. Nice series

You're right, there's tons of clues, foreshadowing, and clever writing through the series you'll catch on a rewatch. "Don't Lose Your Head" vault poster; when the shop lady in Filly tried to tell Lucy she didn't belong up there, noted "You've got all 10 fingers"; Vault 32 messages on the wall about knowing what was going on, and wanting destroy 'management;' confusion around Max believing the bombs dropped in his childhood; Lucy mistakenly thinking she was so silly for thinking the sun in her memories was the real sun; 'snake oil salesman' telling the Enclave scientist he had serums to fix feet, which is played like he's making it up; Lucy claiming her dad would never approve of her destroying a community to save him...etc.
The phone number for vault tec was the possible planned date for the season 2. 213-25-vault is 2/13/25. Text the number and you're told to wait for 33 weeks. Basically December's season 2 trailer.
So much fun rewatching the series through Katie. It’s interesting to see some of the characters from Vault 31 to appear in the pre war era like Betty and the brain I believe is Bud. And the moment I realize Moldaver is actually a morally a good person with the remnants of the NCR, I sided with her over the Brotherhood of Steel. And the twist. Oh, the twists. Lucy’s mom was that feral ghoul and the dad arrives to New Vegas! Makes me wanna replay New Vegas again after all these years or see Katie play the game! Man, I am so hype for the next season after this!
If you love the ghoul, I highly, HIGHLY recommend the show Justified!

It is totally not necessary to have played the games to enjoy the show, nothing is really ruined. Each game is designed to be stand alone to the point where they take place decades apart across two hundred years and in different parts of post apocalyptic US.
They are also meant to be played as you choose: good, evil, neutral able to build your character how you like. The show itself is a good example of the type of things you'll experience but the reason it works so well is that it's not trying to retell a story. It does a competent job telling its own story in the Wasteland players of the game have come to know and love, which doesn't invalidate the other stories.
I'll say that I'd be down to watch you play the games if you ever decide to do so but if you're taking advice about which you should play: Fallout 4 is the most current and most accessible and will be getting a remaster soon, it's also the only game that has given us a clear look at the world Pre-War, all the other games take place solely in the Wasteland.
Fallout New Vegas takes place a handful of years before the events of the show and seems to be where the second season will take place so that may be worth it to have that wow factor when season 2 comes. Great story, lots of choices and has a bit more to chew on that Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 is the modern entry point to the series, it was the first they did in full 3D and takes place on the East Coast of the US, far removed from most of the events we've seen in the show. It's a solid game and was many people's introduction into Fallout. In my opinion Fallout 3 was a kind of soft reboot of the series as Fallout was purchased by a different game studio and had a different team working on it and Fallout 4.
Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are point and click, isometric designed and turned based combat. Which is to say they are old fashioned games, these two released in 1997 and 1998. Still worth a play, both have amazing stories and are a big reason so many fans are so die hard. Fallout New Vegas, to me, is the unoffical squeal to these first 2 games. It was worked on by many of the people that worked on these first two after the start of the soft reboot phase I mentioned earlier.
In any case, all of the games are open world and are meant to allow you to explore and level as you go. Resource gathering, killing enemies, talking to people and making your way through situation after situation across large maps. They are all meant to sink a lot of hours into much of the time allowing the player to make their own fun. You can very much just go from point A to point B in order to complete the stories but it would be a different experience than what the games are known for.
If you had to only play one I would say New Vegas, just in terms of what we're about to see in season 2 of the show and the fact that you like the cool cowboy badass vibe. But if you want something more user friendly and accessible Fallout 4 is not a bad choice.
Season 2 was approved by Amazon either Thursday or Friday. No clue as to when they expect to start filming or projected release.

No no. This series is absolutely an excellent introduction to the whole setting. It stands well on its own even for people who don't even know the games (of which there are seven or eight at this point, but each is a standalone title that doesn't require knowledge of the other games to enjoy).
Fallout is my favorite game series and this TV show is great. It does not spoil anything for people who haven't played the games because it is a separate story from those in the games, yet it is faithful to the lore established in the games.

Also, the end scene, that's "New Vegas": Mr House the head of "Rob Co" who was at the big table, saved the city from the bombs and he seems to be not a part of the Vault-Tec/Enclave scumbags. He's not a "good" person but he's not a raving psychopath like they are
So he helped rebuild Las Vegas into "New Vegas", the setting for the third game which is FANTASTIC for story etc :)

Most folk don't really think about what Mr House's "ending" really means in New Vegas: he allows the Courier to be be more humane etc, but creates a barrier to both NCR and the Legion without slaughter, plus crucially, he rebuilds tech etc
There's no "Good" ending but Mr House's is "less bad" and while Yes Man seems to be the "best"...there's hints he will go rogue.
The board meeting room looks more like an homage to the War Room in Dr. Strangelove to me.

If you like the Ghouls acting, you should watch the show Justified, hes sort of a main character to the show and it just tells a great story and his character is crazy and has such a wild journey through the series, what a great show.
When it comes to getting into the games following the show, I have a few recommendations: If you're more of a "cozy" gamer (Stardew Valley, Farmeville, etc) I'd start with Fallout Shelter. If you're into turn-based linear story games like Final Fantasy, start with Fallout 1 & 2. If open world "choose your own adventure" is more your thing, Fallout New Vegas is the best one to start with. If you're more of a Call of Duty/Modern Warfare/Fortnight gamer, Fallout 76 is your best starting point. If you like a fusion of open world, RPG, and FPS then start with Fallout 3. If you want an experience that's as similar to the feeling of the show as possible, or if you're really into "Tower Defense" type games, start with Fallout 4.
And unless you become a super fan, don't bother with Fallout Tactics or Brotherhood of Steel. Plenty of lore, but the games are just plain terrible.

I think while Moldaver's motives are more altruistic, she was just as ruthless as anyone in the wasteland. She associated with raiders (the literal scum of the earth), and people feared her. Maybe we'll find out.

You don't have to tell me there are no straight up good faction in Fallout. I've played all the games since the first one back in the late 90s.
On the discussion of whether Moldaver's followers are Raiders or NCR: They're neither. Moldaver doesn't hold a title like general or any other that is used by the NCR. Her people call her the "Flame Mother". Other characters describe her as a "witch" and cult leader. And their actions bear that out: her followers are a revenge cult that grew out of the destruction of Shady Sands. Her aims being altruistic don't change that her methods are really not. (So, about average in terms of faction morality in the wasteland, more or less...)

Loved the whole series, as someone who has played the games. That said, anyone saying you needed to play the games first? No. I agree with you that this does a marvelous job of working for people who had no idea about the games, as well as people who are fans of the games already. This will absolutely make some viewers of the show want to play the games. And fans of the games want to go back and replay them.
Oh, and I get it about Cooper as a ghoul, and not necessarily Walton Goggins. Not me specifically, as in sexytime antics with that version of him. Lesbian leaning pansexual here, so if Lucy wound up a ghoul (or not), and with the kind of confidence, swagger, and ass kicking ability as ghoul Cooper? Hell yeah, sign me up. Monsters, mutants, or alien girls don't bother me one bit, if they're hot, they're hot.
Also, really makes one think Cooper might have figured out Maximus was a total rookie early on back when they fought, and kind of just playing with him (unless he only picked up/made that ammo later, off screen). Also, the reason I don't think he told Lucy anything more sooner, pretty sure it wasn't till the scene with Roger (after killing Roger), that he learned her name. It was possible, even learning that, that she was just a distant descendant of someone he knew with that last name. He didn't know that was her dad's first name to connect the fanboy from Vault-Tech asking for his autograph in 2077 as the same person in 2296.

I've never played fallout ever however I do know a bit about some of the games. I saw the whole show and man when they showed New Vegas at the end I was like man this is gonna be the best TV show of the year. Maybe even better than Shogun
