He adds so much intricacies to the live versions of the songs vs the studio. I think it brings more energy and power to the audience.
Just no. More power? Not a chance. Korn is not supposed to be complicated and Ray has changed every song and not for the betterment. Ray has not created a drum part in any song that is any good and has been there since 2007.
Besides the obvious that Ray is a great drummer and a showman, his drum throne has a built in bass shaker that lets him feel the bass throughout his body while he plays. I always tell my sound tech to crank up my bass drum so I can feel the thunder under me when I play. It's a great feeling while playing. Thank you Dave for sharing this.

You should check out "Somebody Someone" by korn. It's kinda got a jazzy feel.
One of the most overlooked groovy and unique drummers of this era is Abe Cunningham from Deftones. His swagger can not be matched and he has groove like a mofo!

If you like this kind of videos you should react to Drumeo's video on II. They invited him to play a bunch of songs and do an interview about his influences and writing process. It's truly a mindblowing and inspirational video. A long one for sure but you could do only few songs from it to make it shorter.
You're so knowledgeable about drumming and able to appreciate it... I'd love to see what you'd think of some of El Estepario Siberiano's videos. Maybe the full song ones so it's more like what you usually do rather than the short vids. Like Blinding Lights?

Ray is an AMAZING drummer as well as a nice guy. However... David Silveria was the original craftsman of these drum parts. So... credit where credit is due. Also... his hats look like 16"+. Maybe it's just the camera angle???
