*fictitiously picks up, and then puts down husbands unfinished sweater and dramatically throws hands in the air* Well off to go sew a few last minute gifts, I don’t have the idle time to just sit and knit. 😂😊 But seriously, I do see some eating stoles and a few scrunchie sets in stockings. Perfect last minute gifts! Thanks again for the spark of inspiration. Sending love and peace to you and Rob this holiday season. 💖
So lovely to see Miss Featherweight make an appearance! Have a Merry Christmas everyone! I’m looking forward to seeing more from the Harriells in 2023 ❤
Hahahaha I know! These sequins were pretty small & thin, so it was ok to sew over them (carefully 😉). If you have larger sequins it’s best to remove them from the seam allowance before you stitch!
Finishing a sewing project at an unfortunate PM hour, I didn't really watch this, I just listened to the music to keep myself going. :D (It's not really a gift except it kind of is - I'm in the process of reorganising my room and the thing is a "blackout" curtain to hang on a glass-paneled door that had to remain closed to keep the temporary curtain on. My sister badly wants to be able to use that door. :D )
@@handmadeharriells A bit less so because I also promised to sew her a Mahina cardigan. 😁 (Scroop Patterns, one of my favourite patterns, it's fun and easy and stylish and unique, and I promised to make her the big circle version from a fabric that's been languishing in the stash for DECADES.)
Instead of working one little pin through the entire scrunchie loop... I make a chain of them and drop it through the middle. Unless it's a super tight fit I can get it right side in within a couple seconds instead of minutes like you showed here.
My glue tape never sticks as cleanly as yours. And it NEVER lifts up the second piece as cleanly either! I always end up with it refusing to lift in the corner, or smearing all over, or getting stuck, or generally turning into a glued up mess. I end up being the most stuck up person I know! What magic do you wield to make it work so obediently, woman? LOL. Merry Christmas to you and Rob!
That glue tape…..I manhandle it to make it behave! I really press it in (hand press) before I even think about lifting the paper. I also find it’ll get finicky if it’s left in a warm place, like our Africa-hot NY apartment…
I LOVE those scrunchies!!! :) But as you have likely noticed by now; I'm bald. :( Can they be worn on the ears? :/ :\ :D XOXOX to you both and to all of yours and to ALL a VERY: Merry Christmas! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Kwanzaa! Happy Holidays! Peace on earth! Good will to us all! ❤❤❤❤❤
Marcy, I just saw this on Tim Totten's channel and wanted to know your thoughts; check it out: Sewing Expert Reacts to GIFT BAG TUTORIAL VIDEO! I found your channel watching his channel while learning to make masks and he referenced you. ~M

This is the most excellent kind of gift 😬
Beautiful skirt and the sequins ❤❤❤
Love the idea for leg warmers! Also, the sparkly shrug. I'm always scared trying to sew sequins! "Please don't wreck my sewing machine!"
