Wow just tried using this lid. I was able to find the outside edge of the electrical box outlet every time. My drill bit easily slid and dropped to the outside edge of the electric box and I was able to easily cut around the electrical box. Thanks for this new product. It will definitely help me save time on all future drywall projects. By the way it is a lot easier to use and more effective than other products on the market.
Thanks for the comment. It has always been a pet peeve of my as well that is why I came up with this invention. I think most DIYers, especially beginners, will really benefit from this product. It really does make the cutout process a lot easier for a beginner.
I needed something easy to use for a beginner and this worked for me. I have also tried the BlindMark tool but this product was easier to use and cut around.
My husband loves these lids. Too bad he didn’t find these a long time ago. Would have saved him from a lot of bad cutouts. Only wish they were available at home improvement stores.
The Amazon links should take you to the product page then you have to click on “See All Buying Options” in the right hand corner. The 10-Pack is $16.99 plus shipping and the 18-Pack is 24.99 plus shipping. These are also available on Ebay. Just search Drywall Electrical Outlet Cutout. These lids really will save you time because you will be able to easily get your drywall guide bit to the outside edge of the electrical box which is sometimes the hardest part. Thanks for your interest.
Right under the video possibly to the right you should see a drop down arrow. If you open the drop down arrow you’ll see a couple links to Amazon. I will put those links in this reply as well. Use the link below to purchase a 10-PACK of these inexpensive lids at Amazon. www.amazon.com/dp/B08MWZJDFY?... Use the link below to purchase an 18-PACK for even a better deal per unit. www.amazon.com/dp/B08T6NZVBW?...
Want an easier way? Go around the room and mark on the floor before boarding the stud side of the box with a line, plus the measurement to center of box. Never need anything else to do this. Just push the wires back before boarding and zip it out. What happens for steel boxes and ones with the triangle tabs on top/bottom that need to be notched out? Plastic boxes aren't always used.
Great suggestions. I also mark on the floors next to the studs before hanging drywall. This gang box lid makes it easy to know for sure with one poke if you have found the electrical box. Also you never have to jump your bit from the inside of the box to the outside of the box. It is super easy to cut through the thin plastic box edges even if you use a drywall guide point bit. This gang box lid makes it so you can't cut through the plastic box edges. Any yes these gang box lids are are meant for plastic electrical boxes only not steel boxes.
Thanks for your comment. Fortunately these gang box lids are reusable multiple times if you are careful and use a drywall guide point bit with a dull end. I am also working on a new lid that will be thicker so you’ll be able to get even more use out of it. I am committed to keeping the price as reasonable as possible considering this is a new product with lots of startup costs including prototypes and patents. That is why I do not have a double gang or round box lids yet. These will be available once the single gang lid is profitable and in a home improvement store. Lowe’s has committed to carry this lid in all their stores. Hopefully you see this product in all their stores later this year. I will be working with Lowe’s to keep the price low as possible but like any retailer they will require a markup. Cheers.
Probably a way you could make the covers adjustable to fit a multi gang box. A single box could expand to cover a double box or a heavy duty box. Best of luck with your invention, perhaps electricians might invest in your product for larger commercial jobs. It is nice that your kit comes will handle more that two boxes at a time like the blind mark kits. As a homeowner I don't think I would invest in enough covers to cover all my boxes for a big job, I might reuse them...
It says it can be reused if still in good condition. If you use a drywall guide point bit which has a dull endpoint you should be able to reuse these lids several times. Good luck.

I am glad to hear this product worked great for you. Good luck on any future projects.
This looks like the product I need. One of my pet peeves in hanging board is outlets and this eliminates that. Great invention.

Hopefully someday if I have I enough sales I will sell these at home improvement stores. I’m glad your husband found these to be very useful. Thanks.
Very cool. Amazon won't give buying options or pricing for me to order.

Interesting solution. Would you be open to a discussion on expanding the product line?
You can email me your expanded product line information and I will take a look at it. My email is minyta.ventures@gmail.com.

Lol
Y'all playing cooperate
Do they fit uk sizes of gang boxes??
Sorry but these only fit the single plastic gang boxes sold in the United States. Mainly Cantex and Carlon boxes.
Qual o bits que vc está usando?
I use the Rotozip 1/8 in. Drywall Guidepoint Cutting Bits. Most bits will work but guidepoint bits work the best.

Those covers cost more than what I paid for my electrical boxes... what do you do for double gang or round boxes?

Thanks.
What bout 2-gang and others?
Thanks for your interest. I hope to develop a 2-Gang Box Lid once I am able to get this single gang box lid into retail home improvement stores.
this lid can still be reused what... too much noise!!! can't hear the rest of the sentence.
