Talk about a blast from the past! I had one of these things; same make, same model, same year, same colour. I'm 74 years old now and still riding (Burgman 650 scooter). It's been 40 years since I've heard that distinctive sound. Had mine out to 140+ MPH on a deserted side road. The speedo was still climbing, but I ran out of straight road unfortunately. Them was the days, when I was young and stupid. Now I'm old and still stupid. Some things never change it seems...

Really more than a mechanic, he is an artist, a restoration with a total disassembly is not for everyone, the replacement of each element that could have suffered wear down to the smallest detail, such as the factory decals, and again reassembled to roll again as it once left the factory more than 40 years ago!! Congratulations for that meticulous task that left no detail for full compliance even for the most demanding!!!

I have a red '80 CBX with 11,000 original miles. Body is still straight. No dents all original. Bike hasn't run since '90. I just parked it and stored it in storage for 33 years. Where are you located? I'd like to get the old girl up and running again. Nice video too.

I drove a new CBX circa 1980. Great bike and HEAVY. Belonged to a mechanic and racer. Was his baby and he ended up departing to the hereafter on it but he left happy. Did you do any engine work or just outside?

Great job done in reviving a classic. I owned a pristine '83 red swb CBX Supersport. Of all the bikes, old and new, that i've had over the years, that was my favorite. It had a six-in-one Kerker exhaust system installed on it - what a sound it made! Only problem i had, was finding a knowledgeable mechanic willing to work on it - a very complex engine. Not even Honda had enough trained mechanics for this bike - pity.

uma pena que não mostrou os processos de limpeza e pintura das peças. Ficou meio "padrão americano": comprar e trocar peças. A restauração raiz é a pessoa fazendo tudo na unha. Mas o resultado ficou ótimo. O importante foi resgatar a moto mais impressionante já feita no mundo.

I had a Silver '79 I bought brand new out of the crate in '84.
6 into one equal length headers, ATK fork brace, S&W Street Strokers and matching Tracy fairing.
10 years of nirvana.
Had to sell when I quit working for the man and started my own company.
Should have robbed 7-11's instead. 😪

At our age ... I wouldn't let someone else dictate what music I use for MY work. Turned wrenches for 30 years... can't anymore. On my best day I couldn't do what you can on your worst. No way some stranger is telling me what music I like. Just IMHO of course. Great work! Oh, I am also a a drummer and pianist... the music doesn't bother me at all!

I had a new one in 1980 2000 pounds from DC Cook Birmingham. After a few months it had the annoying clutch rattle (They all do that sir). Now you can kit them with a conversion that stops it.

I remember my first Honda road bike! It was a 305 Dream! I got it running and rosd it around then sold it to a guy for 50$! Big money in the 70s! Our rent went from 50$ to 55$

This was a dream bike of mine. Nothing like looking down while riding and see a massive engine while having enough torque to peel your face back over your head. Are any of the CBXs for sale?

Fantastic restoration, terrible music! Most UA-camrs think their videos are more 'professional' if they include background music, it seems to be an unwritten rule somewhere. Don't do it, it has the exact opposite effect, your narration would be far more interesting.

(By the way, would love to see someone put some size respective forks on one of those. Generally a full suspension upgrade. Plus some more respective brakes, like Brembo. While keeping the bike 100% original is a thing of beauty. If you're going to ride it - that's another matter.)
