Allan, you believe that a new creature comes out of the waters of baptism. Is it necessary to be a new creature to be a Christian, or will the old man be sufficient for God?
Does the Lord add people to his Church before or after baptism? Please get back with me. May God bless you.

If they said in the name of the father, son, holy ghost they did it wrong, you've just got wet, because the name of the father, son, holy ghost is Jesus Christ. For instance my name is Melachi, I'm a son Im a brother and I'm a cousin. When I tell you to do something in my name will you say son or will you say melachi? Just wanted to let you know if you did get baptized that way, because if you did you'll need to get baptized correctly which is getting baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. GOD BLESS

Just curious, because I too believe baptism is essential. After all Ives seen many verses that I believe speak to this. Romans 6 gives a pretty good explanation of why baptism is a necessary part of salvation. The sinner's prayer is not found anywhere in the scriptures. However the scriptures, old and new are filled with allusions to, examples of, and commandments for baptism. Putting on the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ is a singular event the apostle Paul delineates in Romans 6 beginning with his discussion on sinning willfully; "what should we say are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase may it never be how should we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into his death? Therefore; we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the father, so we also might walk in newness of life; for if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of his resurrection, knowing this that our old self was crucified with him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with so that we would no longer be slaves to sin. For he who has died, is freed from sin. Now if we have died with Christ we believe that we should also live with him knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead is never to die again death no longer is master over him for the death that he died he died to sin once for all, but the life that he lives, he lives to God even so consider yourself to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore; do not let sin reign in your mortal bodies so that you obey it's lusts...". Pretty explanatory... We are buried with Him and raised with Him through baptism. Obviously, if you don't believe your just getting wet... but it is most definitely a singular event. I am not the judge, and I don't pretend to be. I go to a church where grace is employed. There are many who don't ascribe to water baptism. Most of those have been baptized though. All that being said I have no problem calling someone who has a misunderstanding of baptism brother or sister, as I said , I'm not their judge, but after taking this chapter into consideration I could not sleep at night if I wasn't baptized. I have no problem believing that baptism and baptism is implied to verses that don't necessarily reference baptism in that specific verse.Mathew10:32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." And Luke12:6-9 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God."). God bless in your love for the truth.

Kevin B following I believe God's commandments are necessary

Kevin B The passages used as proof text to represent water baptism as an outward sign of our identification in Christ being Colossians 2:12-14 is the same as Romans 6:3-5 which is a parallel to 1 Corinthians 12:13 and has nothing to do with water baptism, the word baptizo
Is used in different formats and is not always associated with water. These passages speak only through Faith our union with Christ by being baptized by the Spirit into Christ at our conversion. No where in the context of these passages is water being descriptive of the type of baptism being presented. So how can one associate the type of baptism being explained to have any link to water baptism?
I feel someone had just erroneously imagined this through the motion in which we are placed into the water and not because scripture actually reveals and teaches it. Thus this man made tradition was born, so why are so many receptive of it when scripture clearly does not associate water as this outward sign?
If Jesus water baptism was always an outward sign of our identification in Christ then why did He command His disciples to baptize with the same baptism John was administering at the same time John was baptizing?
It is obvious that when Jesus disciples were commanded to water baptize believers as they called on the name of Jesus in repentance for forgiveness of sin that they had no grasp of what Jesus was about to endure. So how can Jesus' water baptism symbolize His death, burial and resurrection as it clearly did not mean this to the Apostles at the time they were baptizing people coming to them while confessing there sins?
It clearly was just an outward sign of repentance to show we would bear fruit in proving our Repentance of sin and why they came confessing thier sins towards their Messiah through Faith in Jesus and the Gospel John preached of the now arrived Messiah in whom he proclaimed to be the Lamb and Chosen on of God to take away their sins.
all the passages I have seen used to represent this supposed outward sign are just passages taking out of context and reading it into water baptism. It is our faith that is taught that affects our union with Christ when by the One Baptism we are Baptized by the Holy Spirit into Christ and is never associated through the act of water baptism but through our faith and the confession of that faith.
So it is faith alone that represents that we were placed into Christ as a whole and not through water which alone is our outward sign of repentance and the willingness to prove we repented in bearing fruit of repentance.
I am not asking anyone to re-baptize as we all received water baptism by immersion in the Name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit which is the Name of Jesus/Yeshua which means salvation.(there is no savior besides God) for repentance but I ask in light of the truth of scripture and the correct interpretation of it, that we stop associating and teaching that our identification in Christ is an outward symbol of our repentance baptism but correctly teach that it is by our Faith in Jesus that we are Baptized by the Spirit as our One Baptism that immerses us into Christ's Body, Death,Burial and Resurrection, Ascension, Exaltation and seated in heaven.

    • @TheEndTimes
      @TheEndTimes 6 років тому +11

The word clearly teaches baptism by the Holy Spirit. But it clearly teaches and water. Jesus said unless you are born again of WATER and SPIRIT you will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Jesus was baptized not because He had to be, but to show us we need to be. It is for the remission of sins. You are justified by faith but it brings the faith to completion just as walking in the Spirit fulfills the faith that gave you the Spirit

The End Times one is not regenerated through water baptism, the water in which Jesus is describing is His Word that washes in which is the Gospel. By the Word He spoke to the Disciples of His choosing makeing them wholly clean read John 15:3. The Word of God being the Gospel is the instrument used that causes us to be washed thus is the washing of regeneration and the water that affects our regeneration by the Working and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

A necessary act of obedience. We must believe and obey Him. There is nothing in the Bible about "accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior." Although I do agree with the sentiment, but the problem with saying that is it excludes what the Bible really does say about God's requirements of us.

I needed this to clear some things in my mind about baptism. I thought that it was more of a private symbolic celebration of coming out of your old life & into your new life in Christ. I was baptized as a child twice and didn't understand the full meaning of what it means to cleanse all of what was in the past & come in the new experience of life publicly to announce to your local congregation of your coming into the body of Christ and to be held accountable. I appreciate this video & will embrace my upcoming baptism with a renewed hope in my relationship with The Father 🙏🏿

Hey man, I just saw this video now and as I scrolled through the comments and saw that people liked your question but they didn't really answer it. Sorry for that.
In response to your question, no. You don't need to get re-baptized. If that were the case then the question would need to be asked, "how many sins does it take before I have to get baptized again". As people who have a tendency to sin, again and again, it'd mean we'd all need to be baptized like every 6months. This also applies for when people ask if they need to "re-accept Jesus into their lives as well. Jesus knew that you would wrestle with a tendency of sin but you don't need to re-pray the sinners prayer each time.
What you can do though is, share with your friends, a pastor, or a family member of how God is working in you. Tell them that you are now choosing to live following Jesus, but then importantly ask them to pray for you and help you. Because let's be honest, following Jesus isn't always easy, and that's ok. Jesus gets it and he died knowing that we'd wrestle with following him.

      @Lego Kgoxy,
No, you should get baptized for a Biblical reason, the Bible never says baptism's purpose is to symbolize anything. Romans 6:3-4 the word symbol isn't there, it's only the commentators who say that about Romans 6:3-4. Romans 6:4-7 goes on to say about baptism that that this is where the old man is crucified and is freed from sin. For this Biblical reason you should get baptized (by people who teach the Biblical reason) and then do what Zac says
Talking with friends and a pastor and asking them to pray for you and help you.

Jesus said baptize in name of Father, Son and Holy Spirit because He was still alive, had He told them to do it in His name it would show pride and conceit. Everything Jesus said and did was for the Father. While He was on earth. Make sense?

Baptizing in Jesus's is the only way in Matt. 28:19 Jesus said in the Name and not the titles, and when you go to Acts 2:38 you can see Peter being a disciple of Jesus Peter is saying in Jesus name. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are titles and not names.

To say baptism is merely symbolic is a danger to your audience. It is spiritual change. Symbolic in the physical for the literal change in the spiritual. It is required! It does not say we "should" be baptized. It says be baptized as a command. You can not say God's commands are optional

What about Mark 7:14-16? (I’m a baby Christian, former Mormon). I thought from looking here, it would seem that it’s more about the change of heart than it is about works and outward ordinances right? And to add to that scripture Ephesians 2:8-9 and Galatians 5:4-6? Why do these ordinances matter except for symbolical significance? Is it not just about faith in Jesus to be saved by the gift of grace alone and not works?

It's amazing what I have seen happen after people get baptized. It changes people. I was told it was not needed but something to do if we wanted to make a public act of faith. I am glad I did it. It did wash my sins clean I believe as I started to see clearly. I started to get dreams and visions of things that ended up coming true. I was warned of a spiritual attack that was going on for a long time and when and where the attack would get bad and it did and I was able to get my wife and I to safety just in time to avoid a car that hit the tree where we woudl have been standing. It's a long story but there was gossip going around we were made aware of before we had it confirmed. It was in another city and we found out whole visiting. Our lives have been blessed and the Lord has uplifted our marriage ever since.

this idea of baptism being an "outward sign of inward grace" or "inward decision" is actually never mentioned in the bible. Baptism is the point at which you are forgiven and receive the holy spirit Acts 2:38 is very clear about this - all the early Christians taught and believed this up through the 3rd century. Watch David Bercot on Baptism and he clearly spells out what the early church fathers believed on baptism.

    Baptism
    Mark 16:16 (Canonical New Testament)
Jesus: "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."
    🌊💨🔥
There are three baptisms mentioned in scripture -- The three stages of salvation:
    Water🌊 Holy💨 Fire🔥
    📖
    Matthew 3:11 (Canonical New Testament)
John: "I am baptizing you with water as evidence of repentance, but the one who is coming after me is stronger than I am, and I am not worthy to carry his sandals. It is he who will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire..."

    Water🌊
The Apostles of Jesus teach 'The Church' how to be baptised in Water:
    📖
The Didache 7:1-4 (Apocryphal New Testament)
"Concerning baptism, baptise thus: Having first rehearsed all these things, "baptise, in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," in running water; but if you have no running water, baptise in other water, and if you can not in cold, then in warm. But if you have neither, pour water three times on the head "in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit." And before the baptism let the baptiser and him who is to be baptised fast [no food and drink], and any others who are able. And you shall bid him who is to be baptised to fast one or two days before."
    Holy Spirit💨
The Lord Jesus teaches 'The Church' how to be baptised in The Holy Spirit:
    📖
    Luke 11:13 (Canonical New Testament)
Jesus: "How much more, then, will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
    📖
    Psalm 104:4 (Canonical Old Testament)
"He makes his messengers winds [spirits]..."
    📖
    Hebrews 1:7 (Canonical New Testament)
"God makes his angels winds [spirits]..."
    Fire🔥
The scriptures teach 'The Church' that God will baptise in Fire:
    📖
    Psalm 104:4 (Canonical Old Testament)
"He makes his... ministers a flaming fire."
    📖
    Hebrews 1:7 (Canonical New Testament)
"God makes his... servants flames of fire."
    📖
The Book of Enoch 17:1-2 (Apocryphal Old Testament)
"They took and brought me to a place in which those who were there were like flaming fire, and, when they wished, they appeared as men..."

There are three steps to salvation mentioned in scripture:
    Called🌊 Justified💨 Glorified🔥
    📖
    Romans 8:30 (Canonical New Testament)
"And those whom he predestined, he also called; and those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified..."
    📖
    Revelation 17:14 (Canonical New Testament)
"He is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."

    Furthermore⛅
    📖
1 John 5:7 (Canonical New Testament)
"There are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one..."
    📖
1 John 5:8 (Canonical New Testament)
"And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one..."

    Conclusion🔐
    📖
    Hebrews 12:28-29 (Canonical New Testament)
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
    📖
The Book of Enoch 71:1-2 (Apocryphal Old Testament)
"And it came to pass after this that my spirit was translated
And it ascended into the heavens:
And I saw the holy sons of God.
They were stepping on flames of fire:
Their garments were white [and their raiment],
And their faces shone like snow.
And I saw two streams of fire,
And the light of that fire shone like hyacinth,
And I fell on my face before the Lord of Spirits."
    📖
The Greater Mysteries - Second 19-23 (Apocryphal New Testament)
"They who dwell therein are seven times refined; Who have purged the garment of the flesh in the living waters; And have transmuted both body and soul into spirit, and are become pure virgins. For they were constrained by love to abandon the outer elements, and to seek the innermost which is undivided, even the Wisdom of God. And Wisdom and Love are One."

Great question Elle! So, I would say absolute YES there is. Let me give you an example. Let's say you were baptized as a child but you did it because someone pressured you or scared you into going to hell if you didn't. So, in other words, you didn't understand what you were doing and you may not have even been saved. So, if you truly get saved later or you re-dedicate your life to Christ, I see no reason why you shouldn't go ahead and get re-baptized. But if you know you are a Christian but are just backslidden then I see no need to get baptized again. It would actually probably send the wrong message to people that you could lose your salvation if they see you getting baptized like every year! Lol.

Desirey Olison blessings. I don’t think it clearly teaches water baptism as necessary for salvation. Peter writes “not the removal of filth from our bodies” indicating he isn’t talking about water baptism as much as “the power that raised Jesus.” This is a more obvious illustration of the believers spiritual baptism at the time of conversion. The thief on the cross wasn’t baptized, did say the sinners prayer, did “ask Jesus into his heart”, didn’t go to church, nothing. The only thing he did was trust Jesus was who he said he was. Saved by grace through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Another thing is, when interpreting scripture, if something seems to contradict another area of scripture, then it is to be interpreted by what is clearly understood in order to interpret scripture that is harder to understand. For instance, there are 1 or 2 scripture people wrongly interpret as water baptism a necessity for salvation. But there is a huge body of work (thanks to paul) thst clearly shows we are saved by grace through faith with absolutely no works involved. Hope this makes sense. Blessings, John. Galatians 2:19,20

John Godsey the Bible clearly says baptism saves us.. peter was referring to the obedience that Noah had while building the ark ..Noah had faith... but if he didn’t have obedience... he wouldn’t have been saved from the flood... same for us today.. we can believe all we want..we can have good intentions.. but until we obey the command to depend... and be baptized.. we won’t receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, nor will we be saved.. in the Jewish language baptizo meant to bathe or to cleanse.. like dishes... so he was saying not putting away the filth of flesh..
in the book of acts.. 2:38 the Bible clearly states that baptism is necessary for the remission of sins.. we do it for salvation. We don’t live under the same law as the thief on the cross did. Before the cross they lived under a different law. I tend to believe that the thief on the cross was recorded to show the grace Jesus had.. perhaps if the thief COULD be baptized at that moment he would.. so Jesus had mercy on him.
1 Peter 3:21King James Version (KJV)

Two questions: 1 - where in the entirety of scripture are we told that "baptism is an outward expression of an inward reality"? 2 - where throughout 2000 years of church history can we find baptism described as such? I think the wedding analogy is a bad one. To make what you're saying equate to a wedding ceremony you would need to have the couple "claiming" the reality of their marriage due to them acknowledging their commitment to one another. A ceremony at the courthouse is still a ceremony - no different in substance than the ceremony that takes place in a church building.

Well you almost got it right😮 when God speaks his word works. It’s not our work it’s Gods work in us to cleanse us from sin. Titus 3:5-8, Mark 7:4. I would challenge anyone reading this to get your bible out and look up all the verses regarding baptism and cross references to the Old Testament. Baptism is wonderful thing given to us and commanded by God for the forgiveness of our sins. God bless you!

Good explanation. Would have preferred if he has stressed that our old self dies and we begin living a new life in Christ, which is one of the symbolisms of baptism, rather than "cleansing." I was cleansed of my sins when I repented and became born again in Christ. When we go down, it represents our old self dying. He does a good job of capturing all the main points of baptism. He explains things well.

Does it not worry anyone that he did not give a scripture reference saying baptism is a public expression of a private experience, or a public celebration of something that has already taking place privately in your heart? And that he did not give a scripture reference that baptism is after one gets saved? All the speaker did was recite the play book, the script on Evangelical teachings on baptism. He doesn't claim this is what the Bible teaches.
He did mention one correct thing that baptism is by immersion, but again no scripture reference. I wish he would admit that this is just the Evangelical belief system on baptism.

    • @Rejoran
      @Rejoran 4 роки тому

@Bo Stephens I agree, many people don't care about the scriptures, but I think it's always been this way. As scary as it may sound, it's been my experience that people only care about the scriptures if they're taught/trained to care about the scriptures, and even in that there are degrees. You gave some good examples of that. I don't think it's a deliberate or premeditated lie every time though. Many unwittingly propagate a lie begun long ago, that they've bought into. Such as in the case with the video. I doubt he's ever even questioned if the idea that baptism is merely an outward expression is in the Bible. At an emotional level, why would one need that to be in the Bible if they trust their teacher?
Another way they have of getting around this is by saying "The teaching doesn't have to be written anywhere in the Bible, as long as the concept is there". They can therefore make up ANYTHING THEY WANT, under this claim, and they don't realize how far from the Bible they've actually gotten. You ask people to show this video's definition for baptism in water in the Bible and in response get a deer in the headlights look.
No doubt that the heretical teaching that baptism is merely an outward expression, or proclamation, or "the wedding ring" is an egregious blatant lie and has nothing whatsoever to do with the Bible.

Great video, Pastor Allen! Please note, that God said it was okay to baptize by the "sprinkling of water" in the Old Testament. ""I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 A new heart I will give you, and a new spirit I will put within you; and I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances." (Ezekiel 36:25-27). Remember, the Middle East has large areas of deserts and water is hard to come by. They did not have rivers, streams, lakes, ponds in many communities. And, if they had cisterns/wells that water was for drinking water, not bathing :) Because of what God first said through the Prophet Ezekiel, many denominations believe "sprinkling of water" was, and is permissible in God's eyes. Catholics do both depending on the facilities of their church. God bless you!

    • @TheWordprophet
      @TheWordprophet 4 роки тому +1

      Dear friend,
Respectfully, Ezekiel 36:25-27 is not about baptism, and it is also not about Christians. It is a passage of the scripture regarding the remnant of Israel in the Day of the Lord, a time still yet to come.
The Bible says that baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for the remission of sins, and that it is how we are washed from our sins by his blood.
And it is done by immersion in water.
That is what the word baptism means.
      Baptism does not mean sprinkling.
They are two different words, that mean two different things.
"And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing."
      Acts 8:36-39
      Amen.

12 “A certain Ananias, a man who was devout by the standard of the Law, and well spoken of by all the Jews who lived there, 13 came to me, and standing near said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight!’ And [h]at that very time I looked up at him. 14 And he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear an [i]utterance from His mouth. 15 For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard. 16 Now why do you delay? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on His name.’" It sure looks to me like it's water baptism that washes away our sins. Water baptism does save us, not the cleansing of the flesh, but understanding that it's what God has told us to do to be saved. It's not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience towards Go d. I believe baptism is essential.

Water baptism is what completes repentance. John the Baptist told those who were repentant on the banks of the Jordan to " bring forth fruit meet for repentance". Or do what accompanies repentance or completes it.
Peter in Acts 2 said to the men that they must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. To put it bluntly either you do or don't need to accompany repentance with water baptism for you sins to be remitted( forgiven) or you don't. According to Peter whom Jesus himself gave to the keys to the kingdom of heaven you do.
Paul spoke of the .." doctrine of baptisms" ( Hebrews 6:1,2 ). The Word also says that there is " one Lord, one faith and one baptism" ( Ephesians 4:5 ).
Either these two verses contradict each other or there are two baptisms that make up one baptism, water and Spirit. God in His wisdom has made repentance, water baptism and Spirit baptism inseparable in order for one to be saved/ born again.

The other debate about baptism is what words should be used when you are being baptised. Matthew 28:18 - 20 is Jesus's last command to the apostles "Go ye therefore, and teach ALL nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost." This was for both Jews and gentiles.
Conflict arises when we later read in Acts 2:38 that Peter tells the Jews who had just crucified Jesus to "Repent and be baptised everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." These Jews would probably have already been baptised by John the Baptist for remission of sins but willingly submitted to another baptism to receive the Holy Ghost. Later in Acts 8:14-18 we read that Peter and John discover that the Samaritans converted by Philip had not received the Holy Ghost. "(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them :only they were baptised in the name of the Lord Jesus) They only received the Holy Ghost when Peter and John lay their hands on them. This suggests that for Gentiles baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus is not the right way to do it and perhaps following Jesus's last command is the right formula. Whether you receive the Holy Ghost remains to be seen although many received it by hearing the gospel alone and before they were baptised. Paul Acts 9:17-18. Gentiles Acts 10:44 - 48. Peter again commanded them to be baptised in the name of the Lord. He seems to have forgotten Jesus's last command and his experience with the Samaritans! Should we follow the command of Jesus or the practices of his disciples?
Baptism or immersion in a pool of water (mikveh) is a well established Jewish practice and ritual self submersion naked in the mikveh in the synagogue is done for many reasons including after menstruation, after sex and conversion to the faith. Google mikveh for more info. We know that the Jews flocked to be baptised by John the Baptist for remission of sins in preparation for the coming of the Messiah. Luke 3:16 As Christians we are following Jewish tradition although few are naked at the time of immersion.
So the decision you have to make is do you follow Jesus's command, Peter's or do you do both. Remember Revelation 22:18 - 19 reminds us of the penalty for adding or taking away from the scriptures!

As Christian's we believe in one holy baptism. So if a child baptism is done, then after the child is of age to understand things, he/she can again get baptised with water . Which contradicts first original baptism. It means a Christian can be baptised more than once according to their convenience.

On the day of Pentecost after Peter preached to the people about Jesus crucifixion, Peter told them, "Repent and let every one of you be baptized (by immersion) in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." They were then saved and added to the church (Acts 2:40-47). Romans 6:3-6 tells us "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin."
So in baptism our sins are forgiven, we are united with Christ in the likeness of His death and His resurrection. The gospel (I corinthians 15:1-4) which is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus saves us (Romans 1:16). We aren't saved before we are baptized.

Hello! Soo I love your show and I like when you confront the issues when Preachers / Ministers/Teachers who agree with some of the Bible but not all. Like this matter. I have done my research and baptism means to immerse. That’s the Hebrew meaning. So why do some of the P/T/M take away being baptized in water away from their people. To me that’s just being lazy with Word. So I guess we are better than Jesus Christ who was baptized immersed in water. NOT!!!!! I have even heard Creflo say that and some things I really agree with him on but then some I don’t. But that’s with whoever I listen to when it comes to the Word of God. I always show myself approved of His Word. You can’t just through anything at me because I love to read and research as much as I can. So thank you for this True understanding of baptism.
