Hope you enjoyed this little video. I'm always kicking around ideas on how to improve the yotahome/trailer setup. Right now it's pretty sweet, especially the trailer setup. How would you go about improving this setup? Thanks!

I had a 4x8 version of that trailer. Upgraded the wheels to 12 inch. More ground clearance and helped the bearings slow down a little. Great trailer, hauled my bikes all around for 10 years. Finally have an enclosed trailer. It comes in so handy. You’ll love it when you get it. Great review as always.

I also have the same trailer bought in 1994 and upgraded to the 12" wheels. This slows down the wheel revs by 22%. I put 3/4" PT plywood and I have not yet to replace it. Sure comes in handy without a pickup truck.

No one knows the exact day hour /But we can see the signs events all around us. And by the timeline, Israel is 80 years and 1 generation span according to bible text will be around 2027 , which israel was declared first in 1947 + 80 years = 2027 . so we know we dont have 10 years left as this is 2022 so the rapture, then the tribulation will be before 2030 for sure.
The rapture will happen without a doubt and it will happen much sooner than many believe (less than 10 years according to all the environmental, weather, astronomical signs ,israel timelines etc showing ). It will happen without any warning , not one , in an instant , catching masses of people off guard just like God always does, ie the flood ~ a rude awakening . After the Rapture The USA , Worldwide , will face More evils , Inner city chaos, firearm wars etc etc ,power & water , food shortages , military invasions, mass executions (yes much blood will be required by antichrist ) etctec than it Has EVER been seen Before and you surely dont want to be Here then . We Have Time NOW to change , please seek Christ Jesus while there is still time to save ! no one knows the day or hour of the rapture it will start out just like any other day and it will Take Place In the day In Broad daylight/sunny day , In an Instant FLASH without ANY warning ,& there will be peoples Driver Ids, cell phones ,wallets found in various parking lots,Purses, bill folds Found at work etc etc with NO explanation , and People VANISHING so No One can refute it has taken place. .

Good review. I did something similar with my 4RUNNER and got a $40 harbor freight bike rack that i used to haul my mountain bikes. The thing works great and i'd trust it to haul my bikes cross country., it's steel powder coated, welded, and gusseted. It seems very good for the money but i stupidly scraped it on the ground when offroading a bit so now i don't trust it. Thankfully a family member gave me a better one for free, but i really don't trust the reviews anymore that say your stuff is gonna break and fly off the back. If you install it correctly, and you tighten the bolts and you regularly inspect it... You will be fine. I think most of the bad reviews are user error. From the dudes i see on the freeway doing 80mph hauling their stuff. It's cheap stuff so treat it that way, and you'll get away with it. Don't push it and beat it up.

I drug one around behind my motorcycle for years. On it I had a storage box, large dog kennel(pups need a vacation too!), cooler, couple of gas cans and 2 spare tires. In the box I kept camping gear, tool kit, wheel chocks and other stuff. I know I pulled it at least 25k in 4 years. Definitely worth the money and maintenance to keep it on the road. I have a 4x8 trailer also that I have loaded bikes on to rescue friends. It looks funny with a couple of guys on a motorcycle dragging a trailer with a motorcycle on it. I've also used the 4x8 to carry kayaks among other things. I can't ride any longer. Thank you for bringing back those wonderful memories!

Taller tires keep wheel speed down, hence they won't roast wheel bearings so bad.
I got mine back in the mid 2000s and got it with the 12" wheels and haven't had a bearing issue yet.
And all I did was weld up some sheet metal to reinforce the stress cracks the fenders got.

Had a few flats, a bad wheel bearing, and the fenders fell off. LED light kit--buy a good quality trailer wire harness. The HF trailer wires are made of aluminum coated toilet paper. the "wires" just fall apart new and turn to dust.

Never had an issue. Sold it after 5 yrs for more than it cost me to build and maintain. Caveat is you have to take your time and put it together correctly and well and understand the limits. Keep it under 65mph, lube the hubs often, and don't abuse it.

Get about 3-4 feet of 1" wire rope and take the tongue off and JB weld each end (lots of JB) inside the tongue. Nobody will EVER be able to cut through the tongue unless they have a torch. Many years ago a friend had done this on a more expensive trailer and one morning he came out and found his hitch-locks battered to hell and a 1/2 cut tongue bar (stopped at the cable). The cable moves back and forth so cutting with a hacksaw is impossible. He just welded over the cut and was back in business. I like to think about the would-be thief's arm falling off the next day.

After watching this video, it had me reminiscing about my own experiences with Harbor Freight trailers over the years.
32 years ago I had the 4x4 with a Sears Turtle car top carrier mounted on a plywood deck for extra luggage space to tow behind my Trans Am, and got a lot of compliments on it. Then added a 4x4 deck above it for mountain bikes and other things. I needed more room for my growing family, so I sold the Trans Am, bought a Ford Bronco (which I still have that looks great), sold the 4x4 trailer, and upgraded to the 4x8 model. Had it for 20 years and used it to haul all sorts of things (camping gear, mountain bikes, green waste to the dump, lumber from Home Depot, moving furniture, etc.), and even used it once to tow my BMW K1200GT behind my RV on a trip to Death Valley last year. However, it was getting a little tired, and last year a neighbor offered to buy it to use at his cabin in the mountains in So. CA, so I sold it. I was a little saddened because of the fond memories, and the utility it provided, but knew in my mind it was time let it go.
My intention was to build another trailer one day, mainly for towing the motorcycle behind the RV and Bronco, so yesterday I purchased the Super-Duty (1720 lbs) 4x8 trailer. The plan is to build gates (fencing) like the other 4x8 trailer, but shorter and studier, paint them red, put pressure treated plywood (painted) down for decking with 1/8" aluminum diamond plate over it. I will install a wheel chock in the center (make it removable), buy the 30"x72" aluminum loading ramps, and mount a spare tire and jack stand on the tongue. I will also install drop-down jacks underneath at the corners to stabilize the trailer when loading (saw on UA-cam). I had eye hooks at strategic places (corners) on the previous trailers, and will do the same to this one, but add some flush-mounted hooks on the deck. One important suggestion I saw on the internet is to remove all the wheel bearing grease and re-apply good quality, high-temp grease, since the stuff HF uses is garbage. I'll also add 'bearing-buddies' on both wheels too.
Since this trailer has the ability to fold-up like a ping-pong table, I'll make sure it is capable of doing that so I can store it upright in my garage, which means I'll cut the plywood in half (4x4), buy 4x4 diamond plate, and will put better (slightly bigger) castors on it so it rolls easier.
From the looks of things, it seems you have outgrown the little 4x4 and need a 4x8. However, the bigger the trailer, the more 'stuff' you'll accumulate. Plus, it might be a 'stretch' for your vehicle to tow more weight. Either way, the logical choice is a 4x8 to make things easier and not so difficult to squeeze all your motorcycle stuff on such a small trailer. Still a great story and thanks for sharing your journey with the Harbor Freight trailer..!!!

I towed one from NY to Cleveland for a project years ago.
Since it was empty it was bouncing like mad.
Ended up stopping and removing the fenders because of the stress cracks they got and welded em up with some reinforcements later.
Other then that it now has a 15kw 750 pound diesel genny bolted to it and works fine. That's maxed on the payload pretty much too.

Within minutes of watching your video I knew that I had found an excellent channel that I would subscribe to and immensely enjoy.
I respect your outlook and attitude, and as a former motorcycle mechanic and workshop owner I really appreciate you buying older, inexpensive motorcycle and working on them yourself.
On any bolt together trailer, retightening may be occasionally needed, though your bearing lubrication device and frequent tyre pressure checks should be all that's needed.
An enclosed trailer will affect your fuel consumption and wear and tear on the tow vehicle.
A V-Nose front will help and increase storage capacity, and you can get enclosed trailers at 4 foot height and with lift up lid/roof to ease loading and access.
The lower the trailer, the less wind drag it creates, even less with the V-Nose trailer, obviously.
You could construct simple, lightweight panels to create your own enclosed trailer using your current one as the base.
I would really consider fitting 12 inch wheels as they will make a world of difference.
Or, you could perhaps consider using the Irontron aluminium trailer as a base to reduce weight.

My family has had the 4x8 version of that trailer for nearly 20 years. It has been redecked probably 4 times, probably the same number of side rails on it. It has been loaded with multiple ATV's and dirtbikes at once, I even went to lower California and hauled a complete Ausin Mini Moke to Oregon on it. It has been up to Canada, down to New Mexico. It has been towed by every vehicle we have that has a tow ball on it. The trip from Vancouver Washington to New Mexico it was towed by a Ford Festiva to pick up the bare shell of a Austin Mini. We have bought numerous spare tires on these trips but have never needed them, it is still on it's ORIGINAL tires, we end up losing or misplacing the spared over the years... I have replaced the wheel bearings once due to it sitting for a number of years and the bearings rusted.
This one trailer that people have scoffed at has managed to convert many people into their versitality... My father even ended up buying one a few years ago after calling it junk for so long. The frame and suspension has never given us issues, had we not let it sit the bearings would probably have been fine. The biggest issue we have had with it over the years is wiring, but that is not the trailers fault but the guy not taking care of the pigtail or backing the lights into a pole :)

Upgrade the fenders by passing 7/16" threaded rod though both sides and the frame. The are as thin as potato chips but I could stand on them with the extra support.
I had the Menards version for 18 years. I hauled an FZR600 and tons of building materials. I built interlocking sides out of 1x6s and abused it towing rock around the yard with the garden tractor.
I upgraded to bearing buddies and a spare tire. Sold it for what I paid for it.

The tires from harbor freight definitely aren't great but I don't fret running them if they're the only thing around because blowouts on this tiny thing don't cause a big ordeal. I've had two. On one I felt it start vibrating and pulled over to find the HF tire totally nuked, riding on the rim. On the other I never even noticed, or maybe I did and just turnt up the music lol. Got to where I was going and the sidewall was blown out and I was like well that's unfortunate! Didn't run down to the rim on that one. Haven't had a blowout on walmart tires. They wear down until the tire is bald. I'll try the cheaper Kendas next!

I know you probably don’t have it anymore, especially after the torture test videos.
But when you mentioned the locks, look into ones by Bolt. They use your vehicle key, which you will probably always have with you.
So you can buy a hitch pin for your receiver, the tongue lock, cable lock, padlocks and they all use your vehicle key. So one key for everything. And it’s a little bit harder to pick since it’s a vehicle key and not just a padlock key.
A lot of convenience without having to worry about what key goes to what. All your tubs, hit, cable lock can all be the same
