So I'm sure a few of you remember our friend Devin out near Kelowna, BC! We featured his LHD Supra Turbo on the channel not so long ago. Anyways, little did we know he also owns and drives this stout 350whp Turbocharged EK Civic Hatch! Now with a B18C under the hood and boost by gear (super addicting), Devin's been able to enjoy the EK platform in near-perfect form for the street. I've always found cars generally match up pretty well with the environments and types of roads around which they were built and this car is a perfect example of that. Enjoy! :D

I'm not a FWD fan but this is one of my favorite kinds of builds. Lightweight + built engine + reliable + cheap to maintain. Kudos to the owner.

Hondas don’t need turbos to be fast! There are plenty 9sec n/a hondas,and a few that are already in the 8’s in n/a form!!! 300whp is easily achievable now in days with a stock k24 block,fbo,cams,and e85

Performance and styling from back then.
I know when I see a fellow that is roughly from this era and this gentleman is definitely a prime example of a breed of tuner heads I don't see as much anymore.

I've been slowly making progress on my restomod Nissan D21 Hardbody 4x4.
Even though I don't own a Honda any more my roots are still there always have been since those Golden import tuner days.
I sure miss my 6th gen j30 V6 Accord VTEC.
Thing was fast at the time.

It almost looks like there's a brace bar at the bottom that they're attached to.. like it's mounted to the factory bottom mount

@@NIKo00o12 If you get into a crash, the G forces will throw you forward in the seat, since the belts are mounted to the floor, it pulls down on you, not back. Can cause a compression injury of your spine.
Love these little cars. I'll definitely go back to a k20 honda when the time comes to part ways with my R33 GTR. Used to own a DC5 type R previous and got to drive one with 398whp - it was an absolute riot!

VTEC + boost = two cars. A normal car for calm, easy city driving. Then becomes a gut-wrenching sports car just by climbing the rev range.

Watching this video because I'm rebuilding another turbo b18c civic...had a 300whp b18c1 in a 00 civic coupe and got cut off and totaled my car 6 years ago and finally picked up a clean 98 4dr lx with lots of sir goodies and recently picked up a 98 gsr running doner car that motor will be going in a few weeks then turbo very soon after that watching this video brings back good old times lol

You should get more turbo hondas on your channel, like a turbo k20 or k24 next, that would be cool.

Fwd is much easier to drive fast too. RWD gets squirrelly. Awd probably easiest to drive fast, but heavy.

So many cool cars out there to build up and own... But for some reason I'm drawn to the hyper lightweight ultimate underdog with major tuning potential, The 5th and 6th gen civic hatch. Hate the cars all you want, I'm still gonna keep building my Ek with the same passion someone puts into a "proper sports car"

Honda owner myself, die hart Honda lover.....but small dangerous things like the way the harness is mounted is why a lots of people hate civics. No brain, dangerous things, just there for looks.
