Whats up with leaving all those holes uncovered? I thought the standard protocol/etiquette when beach detecting is to cover your holes after retrieving a target?
Covering holes is etiquette. But when you’re working a patch like we were it’s more beneficial to leave them open so the sand can dry out. Then we go back over the area several more times. After all the good signals have been pulled we cover them. Also being below a big beach cut means the tide will come all the way up to the wall and fill any left over holes. If there were lots people walking down there then We couldn’t do that. Or if you’re hunting out of reach of the tide, definitely fill it in and stomp it down right away. 🤙

Im liking the videos with the deus thinking of getting one but would like to see videos of park detecting you know land locked in Ohio .
It’s a great machine, I really like it a lot. I haven’t hit any parks with it yet but I’ve seen a bunch of videos with people finding good stuff in hunted out parks. Check “Can You Dig It Metal Detecting” he uses the Deus 2 in parks and even frozen ground in Colorado. Metal detecting NYC has some great Deus 2 park videos as well.

Hi 👋🏻 Dan good hunt and finding more gold and silver very nice! The rectangular piece looks like a part to an old watch. I only say this because I have one like it, but mine has the face on it glass on top. It was my grandmother’s a piece which my mother gave me. I have the band, but it’s broken. I filmed the wrap up while I was on the road (and I’m still on the road) but I plan on mailing it back with a little note and some stickers when I get home and can clean it up a bit. I’ll probably post it in a UA-cam short.

It’s been a great run! XP sent me the Deus to use and I’ve fallen in love with it. It’s like having 4 different beach machines all in one

How about the Minelab Equinox 900- why you not running it?
I used the 900 in this video and the last one. but I prefer the Deus 2, it suits my needs a bit better than the 900.
@@MontereyMagnetManthe reason why I ask as I paid a lot for my Minelab 900. You used to use it now I see you using the Deus 2. What is the advantage to this machine?
It’s a lot more stable in black sands and moving tides and handles EMI really well, which are my top 3. It has 4 beach modes and is highly customizable in pretty much every way imaginable. Beach sensitive program runs at a high frequency so it hits gold and low conductors really well. Diving mode is super stable in the surf and heavy black sands. You can change the equalizer and make the tones sound like the Equinox or Legend and you have a lot of options for other styles of tones too. Also the XY screen shows ferrous and non ferrous targets on a line graph type display so you can skip the iron if you want. Also the VDI numbers are very reliable, when it says it’s iron it really is iron. The 900 make everything on a mineralized beach sound like iron, and a lot of my beaches are mineralized unfortunately. I still love my 900, it stays in the car with me at all times.
Even though the class ring is trashed. Returning it would be the right thing to do if you are able to get an I.D. on it.
It would be cool to track down the owner. The only identifying information on it was the school. No names or years
