Really impressed with your 100 day hydrangea project. Gives me hope that the cuttings I propagated early in 2019 (and looking very similar to your starting plant) will flower by Christmas 2019. I’m hoping to eventually put each plant into a large pot, about 30 inches diameter. Can you advise if I should just pot into progressively larger pot or straight into a 30 inch pot? Many thanks.
@Pamela Banks, thank you so so much for your feedback, really appreciate it and feedback like this really motivate us to work hard...so, thank you once again :-) 30 inches diameter is absolutely okay for Hydrangeas and honestly saying, it's really huge container. Definitely you can use 30 inches pot n no need to use much larger pot. You have seen that I just used 6 inches diameter pot and she did well. Wishing you good luck but, please note that Hydrangeas do well in Summer Season. Thank you once again and plz let me know if you have any questions :-)

Nice video really good my wife love this plants i have some seeds and i want just try to grow this but im living in miami do you have any guide for this weather or what mix can i use for this seeds ? thanks
@Osmer Cardenas, Thank you very much for your feedback and say "Hi" to your wife. Hydrangeas are truly gorgeous :-) To sow the seeds, I mostly use 85% Cocopeat + 15% Vermicompost and get good results. I believe, Cocopeat won't be available in Miami. So, you can take 80% peat moss + 20% Perlite or Vermiculite. February-March would be the ideal time to grow from seeds. Plz let me know if you have any question and I would get back ASAP! Thank you once again :-)
@Quilt Addicts Anonymous, Well, the actual size is 6.2 or 6.3. But for any pot size, mostly even number is used like 6, 8, 10, 12 etc. 0.5 inch may be here and there and it doesn't matter any. Thank you for watching the video :-)

Hi sir really liked your videos.. i planted my hydrangeas a month back but still the plant is not grow any height or leafs(1 or 2 leaf only). What should i do? The plant doesnt get any direct sunlight but only very bright indirect sunlight.
Thank you for your feedback and sir is not required actually :-) It's still winter and Hydrangea would start to grow from Feb end onwards. It doesn't grow at this time and soon I would upload a video about my Hydrangeas. No worries..as you have repotted, please be careful while watering. You can water more as soon as your plant start to grow. Indirect sunlight or sunlight for 1-2 hours, there won't be any issue. Good luck!
@@GardeningUpbeat Thanks for the reply😊. About winter, I am from the coastal sides of kerala we don't have any proper winter season so i don't know if it still applies. And about watering now I am watering it once in two days is that enough for hydrangeas.
You are most welcome :-) I am from Assam and weather is almost similar here like Kerala. They grow well in Summer..and growth starts from Feb end to March-April onwards. Watering fine, no worries again. They need lots of water but as you have repotted recently, I said about "be careful". They need constant moist soil and hate it if we let the top soil completely dry out. Having said that, soil should be very well drained. Good luck :-)
Thanks for your effort on video. As you mention to prune at diff season. What happens if I have all summer. Can I assume then I can prune anytime? Also do you u have any video on propagation of hydrangea? Many thanks again
Hello,i repotted my hydrangea in yard where it rains ...the foliage is ok but the plant doesnt seem happy.i wonder if they are over water stressed. How can i revive my hydrangea to bloom flowers??😕
@Steve Well, Thank you for your question. I believe it's just a repotting shock and since you grew your plant in your yard, it would be able to handle the situation much better way. Having said that, I also hope water drains well in the area where you grew it. Just watch it carefully for next few days and if you don't see any improvement, I would recommend you to grow it in a place where water drains well. But, this is unlikely to happen. Good luck :-)
I ordered plants online but the vendor couldn't packaged properly so all the branches are broken but there are good roots . I potted as you described by keeping my fingers crossed. Will they survive and how to water after potting
@Dwarikanath Tripathy, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it. Perhaps, you applied high dose of fungicide. I usually use SAAF and mix 2 grams (1/2 teaspoon) in 1 ltr of water. Using more than this, may harm the plant.
I bought a hydrangea a few days ago. Its leaves and flowers look sloppy and limp(?) when they arrived. Soon, I moved it into a flower pot with mixed soil and watered it. I checked it at night and it looked fresh, the leaves had straighten back up. But in the next morning when I came to check my hydrangea after I gave it a morning sunlight, It looked sloppy again :( Did I do something wrong? What should I do to keep it alive and stay fresh?
@No One, Sorry to know about that but nothing to worry about as it's a quick fix :-) Plz, keep the plant in bright area, not under direct Sun, even morning :-) Once they start to bloom, direct sunlight is not recommended. You can provide morning Sun once all the blooms are already spent. Thank you :-)
Today i bought one.going to follow ur procedure and let u know results. Is dap alone sufficient for hydrangeas? Or shuld add any additional fertilisers as the plant ages. Im new to growing hydrangeas So asking for ur suggestions.
Hi.. I have a hydrangea plant too.. it is 2yrs old.. it hasn’t bloomed even once.. what am I doing wrong.? Would like to send you a picture of the plant?
@zytle costa correia, It happens quite a lot with Hydrangea and there are many reason. I already discussed few issues in one of my recent video here - ua-cam.com/video/Fan9IuLwSBw/v-deo.html You can send me pic of your plant via Insta - instagram.com/gardeningupbeat/ Thank you :-)

@Ngapya Wangshu, Depends on variety - For Big leaf Hydrangeas, it's good to do once they stop blooming and ideal month would be July-August. For Smooth Hydrangeas, best time is Spring. I have a detailed video covering more details and you can watch it here if you like - ua-cam.com/video/wUO7hvqCb-o/v-deo.html Thank you :-)
@Gardening Upbeat can you mention the starting months that each plant can be sown or propagated in your videos. I live in New Delhi. So when can I start growing hydrangeas? And when does it need repotting? Also, does it go dormant in winters? Thank you !!
Hi @Chumei Lamzung, thank you for your question. Cutting or Pruning Hydrangeas depends on the variety you are growing. Plz note, it's extremely important to prune them based on the variety or else, no blooms for that season. I recommend you to watch one of other video where I have explained everything - ua-cam.com/video/pVe72f7iarM/v-deo.html If you have any questions, please let me know and I would be glad to help you. Watering fine, no worries again. They need lots of water but as you have repotted recently, I said about "be careful". They need constant moist soil and hate it if we let the top soil completely dry out. Having said that, soil should be very well drained. Good luck :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat thanks😊.. waiting for more videos
What if i will prune my hydrengea this month of april, how long would it be able to bloom ? It is a 5 month old plant...pls?
Can I apply basacote fertilizer to my hydrangea?
What period is ideal time hard pruning hydrangea plant ?
Does it get cold in your area? I have hydrangeas in the Philippines but I am not able to make them bloom.
I ordered plants online but the vendor couldn't packaged properly so all the branches are broken but there are good roots . I potted as you described by keeping my fingers crossed. Will they survive and how to water after potting
You have done very well job for the plant. After apply of anti fungal solution the leafs of my plant are rotted.
@Dwarikanath Tripathy, thank you very much for the feedback, appreciate it. Perhaps, you applied high dose of fungicide. I usually use SAAF and mix 2 grams (1/2 teaspoon) in 1 ltr of water. Using more than this, may harm the plant.
When do you prune Hydrangeas ? Can it be done after the flowers fade
Thank you :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat Thank you for the advice!! Great video btw, it's really helpful! :)
Thank you for your video
@inday Narvasa, Most welcome and thank you very much for watching the video, appreciate it :-)
Today i bought one.going to follow ur procedure and let u know results.
Is dap alone sufficient for hydrangeas?
Or shuld add any additional fertilisers as the plant ages.
Im new to growing hydrangeas
So asking for ur suggestions.
Hi.. I have a hydrangea plant too.. it is 2yrs old.. it hasn’t bloomed even once.. what am I doing wrong.? Would like to send you a picture of the plant?
@zytle costa correia, It happens quite a lot with Hydrangea and there are many reason. I already discussed few issues in one of my recent video here - ua-cam.com/video/Fan9IuLwSBw/v-deo.html You can send me pic of your plant via Insta - instagram.com/gardeningupbeat/ Thank you :-)
Thanks for replying.. Your videos are very helpful.. Will send you a pic of the plant
Wow ..beautiful ..amezing
Can it take lots of sunlight because i live in North India.
@Ballzpiller, Unfortunately no....and Hydrangea won't be that good for Delhi. I have a new video where I have covered some more info and if you like, you can watch it here - ua-cam.com/video/wUO7hvqCb-o/v-deo.html Thank you :-)
What month did you start this project? I'm afraid if I start in the wrong month, it will not be successful.
Best time to grow is at the end of February as Summer is the main blooming time..Wish you all the best!
BEAUTIFUL!
@k m, Thank you very much :-)
Hi.. Could you please help me when is the exact month to prune or cut the hydrangea
@Ngapya Wangshu, Depends on variety - For Big leaf Hydrangeas, it's good to do once they stop blooming and ideal month would be July-August. For Smooth Hydrangeas, best time is Spring. I have a detailed video covering more details and you can watch it here if you like - ua-cam.com/video/wUO7hvqCb-o/v-deo.html Thank you :-)
@@GardeningUpbeat Thank you so much
Do they bloom in winters? Will I get them now in the nurseries??
Cutting se growth hota hain kya
Sure...usually this is the main way to Propagate Hydrangeas,,,thank you!
How often do you water the hydrangeas seeds?
@Gardening Upbeat can you mention the starting months that each plant can be sown or propagated in your videos. I live in New Delhi. So when can I start growing hydrangeas? And when does it need repotting? Also, does it go dormant in winters? Thank you !!
Which month will be best for cutting hydrangea
Hi @Chumei Lamzung, thank you for your question. Cutting or Pruning Hydrangeas depends on the variety you are growing. Plz note, it's extremely important to prune them based on the variety or else, no blooms for that season. I recommend you to watch one of other video where I have explained everything - ua-cam.com/video/pVe72f7iarM/v-deo.html If you have any questions, please let me know and I would be glad to help you. Thanks again and have a great day :-)
i just read in the comments you are from guwahati! im from guwahati too. any advice on flowering plants for the coming winter season? i have a terrace garden. will hollyhocks and sweetpeas grow?

@Jeiponda Elevens, No exactly, they bloom in Summer. If you are looking for plants that bloom all season, please watch this video - ua-cam.com/video/VMq96SBYO5g/v-deo.html
@@GardeningUpbeat thanks
What is the good time to plant them
Beautiful
HI Gardening Upbeat! Thank you for your very detailed and comprehensive videos. I have a question, how do i care for hydrangeas here in the philippines? We have a tropical climate, which means very hot and humid. I have a small space of garden which gets hot sun from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is the only space I have for my plants and flowers. Any advice on how to care for my hydrangea? Hope you can reply, really appreciate it. THANK YOU!!! ♥♥

What crystals did you add the soil? What is it called?
@k m, It's DAP (Diammonium Phosphate). I have another video on Hydrangea (with some more details) which I uploaded recently and if you like, you can watch it here - ua-cam.com/video/wUO7hvqCb-o/v-deo.html
WOW your hydrangea really amazing. How you make your flower turned pink and purple? Do you add something then the color of hydrangea changed?
Putting rusted nails in soil helps to change the colour
