I think if/when I do get into Caves of Qud, I'm going to give myself a treat and do a rogue like Stardew Valley run, where I simply build a house in Joppa and try to romance all of the starter NPC's 😂 I want to see if this game allows for slice-of-life-despite-the-danger play

Yeah, since these all are passive you don't even have to do anything besides learning and fixing up the stuff at the campfire
In the debug options you can turn on saves! this lets you quick save and quick load. Fantastic for learning the game

There is the "Wanderer" Game Mode where everything is inherently Neutral to you. So you could use that definitely ^^

Well it is worth every penny though as it's filled up to the brim with 100s of hours of playtime
