- Kardell Thomas is a five-star offensive lineman that really needs no introduction. Coming in at 6-4, weighing 348 pounds, this young man wants to be listed as an athlete on the roster instead of right guard. He has run anchor in track, thrown shot put and can play on the basketball floor. With athletic strengths like that, he says he's destined to be a future top three pick in the NFL one day.
For now, one thing is certain: LSU picked up one of the most intriguing 5-star athletes in the country.

As a Alabama fan I cannot wait to see how we match up with this kid. Our DL players are big/strong with quick feet and are very athletic. Remember it is not how big you are but the technique you are taught to get around OL or put them on the ground. I am not hating on this kid but he will need to improve on his technique because in the SEC there are plenty of DL that are so quick he barely will be able to make contact with them. It appears he has talent but if I was the LSU strength and conditioning coach I would make him lose a few pounds to enhance his performance on the field. Every coach will tell you once a big man gets tired it is difficult for them to recovery. But I really like his attitude and the goals he has set for himself. You reach your goals through self motivation and it appears his mindset is pointed in the right direction.
