I never thought anyone could replace Taff, but you and Ant look as if you've worked as a duo for years - Great to see a young fresh-faced teenager like him working so well with an antique like you Stevie lol!
When Ant (AKA 'Gandalph the Grey' lol) is 18 he'll be able to drive the van too - All jokes aside it's been lovely to see him come so far so fast and just slot right into what was an already existing closely knit team, not to mention filling Taff's hard-grafting boots!
I really appreciate the time taken to explain the considerations and general thought processes applied before you do something rather than just clips of working at the task itself. It helps me to understand, appreciate and actually LEARN something too!

Steve that’s a class job. good to see D&J adding a big name company to there portfolio 👍. and well this video couldn’t of come at a better time for me. doing my drive gates and adding some more fence sections either side. so it’s good home work for me 👍.

Nice job again lads! To check a spirit lever, place it and see where the bubble sits (let's assume dead-centre) turn the level around and check again, if the second reading is any different to the first the the level is off, if both readings match, the level is good 🙂

I went out to lunch with a builder friend who said he was doing a fence the next day, he was very impressed with my knowledge of fences, I said I followed you on you tube and you taught me everything I know...😂 he jumped straight on and subscribed.

you should use a cat scan to check if there is any electric etc. when putting a big gate up put a wedge under gate to take the wieght of gate

He is about 36 just saying but you do work good together and that's nice to see that you're not only coworkers but friends that's always nice to have when you're doing manual work.

Enjoy watching you guys working. To check your level eg: the red one, to check accurately try it both ways. Recheck by rotating 180 degrees to see where the bubble is .

You need a laser setup that burns the D&J logo into wood and burn it into face panels as well as into the back side of fences. The front or show side to advertise discretely, the back side for replacement or service work. I would also put a logo into your post and gravel forms so that posts and boards have a discrete logo also. Maybe every 3rd post on a job or every other bay for the gravel boards, the rest without logos.

Turn the level and see if it is the same. To check a level. hold it against a wall, draw a line under it. Then turn it and see if you can level against the line, the other way round.

You need one of them burn stamper for your logo on the fences would look good

The new gate looks very substantial!! The "R line" of fine fencing 👏
Spirit levels do lose there accuracy in time as daft as it seems ....an easy way to see is a line test on a wall......pencil underneath level on wall with bubble perfect then turn it around and see if the bubble is the same on other side and if line is followed .... otherwise it may be slightly bent 😉

Trick to verify which level is correct: Rotate 180 degrees along the horizontal plane, if the bubble stays in the same place from your point of view (to the left, the middle, the right etc) the level is good.
If the bubble shifts from left to right (from your point of view) the level is faulty

Ant is about 27, have you never thought of using wedges or off cuts underneath the gate to take some of the weight when you are hanging a gate up so Ants not struggling to hold it up in place. Tidy job 👍
Make it slightly high as well to allow for the settle
I use two little hand pump air bags

Craig, I agree although I thought the first time I saw him he was late 20's. He hasn't had too many close-ups to really tell. For all the outdoor work and sun exposure though, he has great skin! For a tall guy he is very agile, works hard, a quick thinker always one step ahead, and is such a great team member!

levels are self proving so all you have to do is rotate it and compensate if the bubble stays in the same place or buy a new one if it moves to the other side
We would call that a pailing fence here in Melbourne. Most common fencing used here.

The masons level is probably good. The cheap one can't be trusted. Do a level test by setting one on a vertical wall and marking a line. Flip it around to see if it's the same.
You should have asked if those storage boxes ever get moved. The fence may need to be removable. Also could be taller to hide it.

Top job great to see vw got the professionals in as well. Not a criticism but instead of covering the can’t rail with a rip of feather edge then a separate clapper, I just rip a 6x1 to cover the gap and act as a clapper. As the best 👍look forward to Sundays video
