Just wanted to say your ways of teaching and explaining basics is outstanding. You probably teach far more clearly than more than the majority. I have since various videos posted and you are far beyond better and clearer. I wish I had a teacher like you. bless you.
Oh thank you for your lovely comments and Im so glad that they are helpful! Follow me on my Facebook page; Facebook/bslteacher for updates and resources. Best of luck with your studying!!
Thank you so much for this. It is the first time I understand why we do placement, that signing in front of yourself is about yourself ! and how you use your own body to talk about a physical attribute, but point to the person whose attribute it is afterwards - once again, thank you
This was so helpful, thank you. I'm nearing the end of my level 2 course, and the things you're describing are ones I've struggled with for ages. My teacher is deaf, and I'm hearing, and often find that these kind of concepts are very tricky to get across.
Thank you. This is really helpful. You sign very clearly too. I am studying towards level 1 and maybe I could do with watching you a few more times to be able to put in practice what uou explain. Thanks a lot.
I have looked all over and your videos and some of the best, As you explain word order and why you sign after certain signs, which is perfect for absolute beginners like me!!
Hi Taz Apologies for not replying - i learned by immersing myself in the Deaf community since the age of 12. If you want to be a BSL Interpreter, check out Wolverhampton University's interpreting course.
Can i ask, for example if i want to say "i love watching films" do i have to sign "i love what, watching, what, films" or no questions between..? I'm confused when to include the questions!!!
Thank you so much for this!! This is exactly what I am struggling with on my level one course. The sentence structure. This is so very helpful and easy to understand!
Thank you for the video it was very useful and easy to understand I am currently studying level 2 Bsl and i am hard of hearing myself so found it very useful
thank you! i am trying to learn more bls i an in the USA OREGON Springfield i am why i am learn i like to communicate I AM 54% Great Britain.. so thank you!
The blowing noises indicate the amount of something so if someone has long hair, you would sign long hair and blow your cheeks if it's very long hair!!
Very useful. I love your speed and manner. I am learning with my husband. Daughter and son. Your videos will be much used Im sure. Thank you for taking the time and effort to share! 😀😉
Really unhelpful using SSE during this video. BSL grammar is as important as the lexicon itself; not a great idea using English grammar with BSL signs.

I've been looking at lots of different sign language videos and you explained it the clearest! Thank you!
How do tenses work in BSL? What are the signs for 'finish' doing something and that you 'will' do something?

i've started learning bsl just recently and this has helped me, so thank you!
Great video, but question,do you point only if they are actually there whilst you describing them??
No, you point to establish where you are pretending that person / object is so you can refer to them again easily.
Thanks for the info! The way you explain things is fantastic!!
Awesome explanations! Thank you.
This is amazing! I never had someone explain placements of things so well :)
Thanks Michael - am so glad that it has helped and I appreciate the feedback! :o)
Thank you very much. Can you talk about questions and most useful sentences at school

Where did you learn your sign language and how long does it take? As I really want to learn and perhaps become in time a translator for the deaf xx

This is a fantastic explanation and has helped me so much
Why do signers make blowing noises with certain signs? The noise doesn't seem to mean anything to me.
The blowing noises indicate the amount of something so if someone has long hair, you would sign long hair and blow your cheeks if it's very long hair!!
So clear and helpful - thank you

Level 6-er (roughly) here and i love this vid.
GOD BLESS YOU !!!!!!!!!!
Very helpfull.thanks
Thank you. I actually understand this now.
Excellent. Thank you so much.
Wow the similarities in the rules of ASL and BSL are similar in nature.
Are you at the airport or am I losing my hearing?
Thankyou!
If level 1 is intended for complete beginers it is too fast and lacks repetition.
deaf all good

Background noise way too loud
Really confusing using BSL and English simultaneously, as the grammars are very different.
Way too fast. As a beginner I lost her within first 10 seconds
