The Accelerator had no control over the black wings in the which he has now thanks to the misaka network. In short, Aleister just put a leash on him so he wouldn't get out of control. And that was just a trigger for how much buff he would have in the story. Without them Accel would not be able to clash with the magic side.

Training him in martial arts never crossed their minds and he never had to use his power to the fullest (we can see this in the anime when he discovers mid-fight that he can manipulate the wind). Accelerator had never fought with his fists before and had never felt physical pain in his life. And it's not just him, most espers are not physically trained, science only trains their powers because it thinks the rest is irrelevant, we have some exceptions like koroko who is level 4 who has the power of teleportation but knows how to fight melee because was trained by the Judgment to neutralize the enemy without doing much damage. Touma, on the other hand, has the Imagine Breaker that nullifies the reality distortion + 17 Dragons in his body and an invisible thing we call IT . He is also a very strong street fighter in hand-to-hand combat, with a high IQ to adapt in any battle using dirty tricks, the opponent's weakness and location + an individual skill called precognition. And it's not just him, most level 0's are like that. Even Hamazura would beat Accelerator if it was just hand to hand, Tsuchimikado and Frenda too because they trained to survive in this city lol .
Ill be honest seeing how many times this happens it surprises me how many of them try the same damn thing expecting a different result he literally has a built in auto parry why do you keep trying the same damn thing of trying to hurt him physically when literally everything gets rebounded

In the end, the scariest thing isn't the Espers, it's the city itself with its ultratechnology. There are also circumstances where a level 5 can be defeated by a guy without powers. This is because this series is not about who has the strongest power, it follows the rhythm of rock, paper, scissors where fights are defined by a set of powers, intelligence, knowledge, experience, physical state, mental state, etc. Even the location of a fight can influence the outcome.

They were literally created to die, so why would scientists bother giving them other types of weapons to defend themselves against Accelerator when the purpose is to kill them anyway? Come on, there was a clone that transformed oxygen into ozone and this even surprised Accelerator but it wasn't enough to hurt him, after all the clone's manipulation capacity is much inferior to Accelerator.
After watching this anime a while ago, here are some theories on how to beat him. 1. Cancel his power (done in the show) 2. Telepathy or something mental (not #5's telepathy, something else) (although given that he got insede Last Order, I don't know now) 3. Teleport him really far into space (far enough that there is no oxygen to recycle and he can't pull himself back to Earth) I watched the show a long time ago. Feel free to add ideas or corrections.
Can't he alter the path that the reflection takes? I think this was stated somewhere and the fact that his reflected bullets hit the targets means he is modifying at least their direction, speed and angle.
5. Throw a projectile capable of changing its own position at any of his blind spots, the projectile must reverse its own trajectory with incredible force at the exact moment it hits his barrier. This should work because his power simply changes the vectors of anything he wants, and he also mentions that when he's not paying attention he has his power automatically set to reverse. If an attack reverses its own trajectory at the moment it hits his barrier, then Accelerator's own power should reverse that attack again, sending it towards himself instead of away. It has to be very precise and it specifically has to hit his "auto barrier." If he's aware of the situation then he can simply change the rules of his vector paths and this strategy becomes impossible until the next time he believes he's safe and not in combat. The clone Misaka had one part done by hiding up on a rooftop, but she didn't have any projectiles that could take advantage of Accelerator's barrier. A projectile like this would normally be hard to make, but in the context of Academy City it's not impossible since the city is obsessed with weird science experiments anyway.

It has one of the best power systems and world building. Plot armor? Nah, the fights here are like rock, paper, scissors, they are decided by a set of power, physical status, mental status, experience, strategy and knowledge. Imagine that even the location of the fight can influence the result.

Spoilers..... The women who keep shooting themselves are clones for experimentation to make him more powerful so although they know what his power is theres not much they can do.

普通にどんな全方位からの物理攻撃や時空間攻撃＆次元攻撃、精神攻撃、あらゆる全ての概念攻撃、未知エネルギー、未現物質など含め力の大小や種類を問わず本人が認可していないベクトルは全て反転し、「『反射』できる限界」は存在しない。
後ベクトル操作や反射に上限はなく常に展開状態の為それらに攻撃する事も防ぐことも不可能。
脳に損傷負う前から、アクセラレータのベクトル能力の本質は変わりはしない。アクセラレータのベクトル操作はおまけ程度の副産物に過ぎずアクセラレータ自身能力の本質はそれじゃないし、その能力の本質は、『自身が観測した現象から逆算して、限りなく本物に近い推論を導き出す』事。
そもそもアクセラレータに、どんな攻撃しようが全てにベクトルが働くから無意味に近いし、テレポートとか空間に関する攻撃なども全て、11次元のベクトルが使われてるからそれを含め反射や操作可能だし、全次元の宇宙の物理法則すらねじ曲げて破壊すら可能。
それに加えて、クリファパズル545の補助＆プラチナの翼やコロンゾンとかもあるから更に化け物になってる。
