It's all about the purpose that you buy it for. For me (nature photography/filming where it is not about professional photography but about filming behavior) it is a very useful camera.
Nice video I myself have used Panasonic bridge cameras for my UA-cam videos since the start of the channel. First FZ7 ,38,150,1000 and now FZ300 and FZ2000 And I really hope that it come newer of the better ones to. Because apart from the optics, I also need an external microphone and when you're out filming in the rain and snow, you want a simple and not overly expensive camera but still have the extra stuff that neither a phone or a gopro have like a good grip and zoom Take care from Sweden
I've had mine for a couple months now. I primarily use this for black and white photography, I love the gradient and the smoothness. There are times where I get a little bogged down by the menu but I always feel like that's my fault because now I have three phones and I never know what button to push lol literally my fault I would recommend a monopod or tripod for this device. I love this camera and for the money I spent on it it is worth it.
Planning a trip to Rome and i need the big zoom. I will be taking many photos inside of the cathedrals. You said that bright settings are best. Would this be a poor choice for my application? Its very hard to beat the price!
i find the digital noise has a nice gradient and refreshingly organic feel to it, compared to all the super clinical clean images of large sensor format cameras. Cheers to panasonic, for the most minimal of upgrades albeit. Nice pictures and review thanks for posting. 👌🏻🌅🌄
Lumix just announced the ZS99/TZ99. Its a compact point and shoot. But similar to the FZ80D in the sense that its mostly an old design with a subtle refresh for the EU USB-C standard.
@@MoChuang343 omg thats the perfect size I am looking for. Kind of wish It would have more zoom but wow its nice. Smallest usb c with a decent optical zoom
I am looking to replace my old Canon 450D and was looking at the Lumix FZ80 but after this video I will give it a miss. Maybe the FZ2000 is more useful to me but it's so much more expensive.
I have troubles with this camera. With focusing. Eg there is a bird on a tree, so I use the A mode, point the bird, but the focus takes a leaf or branch or anything else but not the bird. Also, there is a cow couple of metres from me. Again, the photo is not good. This never happened to me before with other cameras, I am real amateur and prefer using A mode.
A or S mode have nothing to do with the focusing. You need to select right focusing mode for the scene your are photographing. Movable focus point is the best one to focus on exactly you want. Please check the manual for focusing modes
fyi this is the exact same internals as the 2017 version which explains the outdated quality. The "D" only means they updated the screen, EVF & usb port. It's not really a new camera and people should be aware they're going to get 7 year old results using this.
I love bridge cameras. Have owned a lot of Panasonic FZ and still own several, like the FZ50 with the constant 2.8 lens which gives a somewhat filmic look with its CCD sensor. I will have to disagree and say that no smartphone will get anywhere close to this optical zoom range. Digital zoom and the little tricks they use to cheat physics like periscoping lenses looks terrible from everything I have seen. Also, I am probably in the minority but I love the look of photos like the ones at 2:44, 9:23 and 10:34 They have a soft, nostalgic kind of look to them that reminds me of film. They look like they could have been taken 30 years ago. I much prefer some character like that instead of the overly sharp, clinical look of modern mirrorless cameras that lack character. I might have to pick one up!
oh no doubt that nothing can compete with that zoom range. Quality wise my Samsung phone is actually a touch better but it is my personal preference. If you like what this does, it might be a camera for you
I don't have a phone, and i'm not allowed one. So this is going to be good for me. I am going to use it for youtube videos, because it is the cheapest 4k camera.
Hi! Unfortunately no EXIF information to the photos in your video and a lot of noise all over the place. I think bridge cameras might be OK if you need the zoom range and if you can live with with high f numbers, but I think e.g. iPhone 12 shoots better indoor and low lite photos. Not worth the price in my eyes...
Its funny when I reading opinions of people saying that something is not a good bang for buck compared to iPhone XD Whole Apple is a definition of absolute garbage bang for buck. Who tf would buy a camera with 1200 lens to shot indoors? No to mention it costs 4 times less than iPhone, has proper grip, controls, viewfinder vs a slab of glass in plastic/metal frame.
It's hardly a basic camera, even as bridge cameras go it's not basic, out of the 117 mainstream bridge cameras this one is ranked 14th. You talk out your arse and clearly don't like bridge cameras.

perfect for that!

Absolutely amazing video, so thourgh I feel extremely informed now about what I'm getting, I wish I had found your video sooner.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much

that depends on what your expectations are. It will not deliver great results in low light but acceptable when you just want to capture your memories
Please make a review of the Canon PowerShot SX70 HS analogue. Maybe it shoots better?
it's not something I am planning on reviewing. Sorry

super simple but noce camera.
thank you for watching
Is there any other usb c camera this size or smaller?
almost every camera released in the last 2-3 years has got USB-C
@@PavSZ you would be surprise there arent many compact with usb c

your old Canon will be better than this, especially when combined with a nice lens

your might be right there
I feel like they got rid of the Wi-Fi too
Very tempted to get one.
I wonder if this camera can give a reasonable view of Saturn with this 60 times zoom?
the answer is: probably no.
It is not a telescope
I can with my 40x optical zoom, but it's blurry. 60x zoom should be able to see his rings.
You can with little of intelligent zoom. But it will be quite grainy.

It's a camera classes could hand out to learn basics on, haha. I think it should be cheaper though. See: G100.
yes
