I was going to buy a used 16 m8 for my first snowmobile but watched your video on the new m600 catalyst and decided to go new yesterday and bought the 154 600 ! It’s the first edition 2024 so it had a great discount on it since they couldn’t sell it last year ! Can’t wait to ride it !
That's very interesting, i actually love the feeling of the XM chassis, i've just always been much more comfortable on it vs the G4, also love that 800etec, it was a really smooth engine and i feel like that power delivery would be great for someone who's just starting out
I appreciate the advice, as you can imagine im on the hunt for a sled. doo gen 5 and yes they are expensive. I was hoping people were getting their snow check deliveries and would drop pricing as they're payments are coming. 😢
I saw a skidoo dealer in Colorado had unbelievable carryover deals skidoo mt sleds, look around for a good carryover sleds from other manufacturers also this is how I save money
Just bought my uncles stage 3 Polaris assault 800 2015 for 4K, things an absolute beast and he sold it cheap because he didn’t know what’s wrong with it, turns out it was just a censor on the throttle and a good hit with a object fix’s it from limp mode😂
The Polaris "fix kit" is really oversold. It was a lean tune along with so so pistons. Most of the failures are the piston ring locating pin falling out due to detonation. Good gas and there's never issues. That said, the axys chassis is worth the $1k more money on the used market right now.
I’m about to go pick up a ski-doo freeride 2018 146 With a clutch and some Öhlins. It also has a summit front/ski stance. And i was wondering if you know any big differences between the freeride and the summit 2018. (Sorry my English is bad, it’s my second language and i’m fighting the auto correct as i’m writing this)
Hey Matt, it’s me tanner i’m looking to get my phone on my friends. I went to high school with his name is Cody Sweeney I’m looking to get him into snow also myself back into snow for 2025 and 2024 snow season. What kind of sides would you recommend that we buy?
Them Suzuki 800s just run, I got a 13 xf800 Sno pro 800 and it's a strong runner and has quite a few miles on it and seems like it won't give up yet. Also got a 97 zr580 that had the 121 swapped for a 136 and that Suzuki 580 is really the little engine that could. Dam thing will run forever. Ski doo 800s are hit and miss from my experiences. The Polaris 800 is ok but no powerhouse and you just never know what they will do.
In norway there are tons of xm 800s thats ran 10-11 k km. Both lynx and ski doo. I have both an 13 xm summit and 15 viper turbo. Both amazing sleds and i found them very reliable. The viper also has a normal air radiator. So it cant go hot on trails, ulike the sidewinder mtx which does.
@@warviking7647 I had a 2006 summit 800 and in the matter of 2 years I rebuilt that 800 4 times. Vowed never again to buy a brp a snow product. I've only ever had luck with older Polaris sleds and the broad spectrum of arctic cats.
@@kolewiebensohn the 06 is not etec, its a carbed engine. But the 800 HO is still very solid. 4 rebuilds in 2 years sounds more like user error/service related then the makers fault. The early polaris 800s are knows to be really, really bad tho, like 2000 km before needing a rebuild.....there are tonn of polarises that has done rebuilds every 3rd season here. The ones that hasent had a rebuild, where not sold.... Artic cat has been very solid on their suzuki engines, but the opposite for their won ones😅 My fathers friend had a 03 800 HO that ran 11 k before the crank snapped into 2. He tried keeping up with my fathers turboed rx1. But I guess a summit cant go 240 kph🤣 Am myself more of a yamaha fan, but for treeriding, i have a summit for the really deep steep days, and the viper for more packed, flatter, working days.
@@warviking7647 That summit got used let just say that, Midwestern USA ditchbanging hitting culverts, jumping terraces, running over trees, river racing, chasing cows. Yeah it got used but I couldn't make a 10ft jump without out it dropping a cylinder. I do have a Yamaha but that's basically a perfect sled for Larry enticer to use. Theres 2 generations of Polaris 800s, the better built ones in the edge/ edge x chassis and then the 800s in the iq chassis. The earlier ones were better. Never ever seen a Lynx before, look quite odd to me, but I'm a little biased towards arctic cat since the factory is a 4-5 hour trip from home and I got one good neighbor who used to race arctic cat back in the day so he can really make em run.
I’d like an honest opinion on the ‘19 Ctec 800’s. I’m thinking of ditching my 13 m800 to upgrade to a ‘19 turbo and then a used 858 in a couple years. I’ve seen low mileage examples in the 8-9k asking price range.
Hey man, you on Tenner shoop Me, my son are looking to get back into the snowball season had to snow along time ago, but I lost something. What kind of side side do you think I should buy?
@@Thewiruz1 no no. You Will Learn to deal with it! Less agile. But relability of the 4stroke! And the sound… with an air Intake and stage what ever.. the machine is a beast! Sound amazing! A friend have one and he love it! And I do love to Jump on it Time to Time’! Big power :)
I had a 18 mtx 162. I didnt hate it, but you cant trail ride them, they get hot instantly. So eighter get a btx, since they have 2 radiators, or a viper which has a normal air radiator. Can basicly drive it all year everywhere.
Put 8 tooth drivers in if it has the 7 tooth. Makes a big difference in deep snow. Fits with the 3 inch track. Have done this to a few Cats of this era as well as the aftermarket drop and roll and the driver change is best change for cheap.
ah those cats should be under 5k, I paid 3500 for a fairly high mile '16 limited 162 with full slp exhaust and 4k for a lower mile '15 which had the '16 front end and drive belt/titanium can

Thanks for putting this one together. I’m looking for a used sled and this was great information on all of the brands.

The 12-17 cats are a dime a dozen now on marketplace for anyone wanting a super reliable sled
good picks, i can't wait
Great stuff good to see ya back
Heck yeah buddy. Here to stay 🤙
Thank you for this. Not for me so much, but it takes the guess work out for me to suggest sleds for others to buy who arn't buying new.
Glad it helped 🤙

Your best bet is to head over to Ski-Doo. They've got spec sheets where you can compare the two even as far back as 2018
I’m gonna buy one next season
Phazer!

Good video
Anyone know where I can find a used 144” track and skid?
Hey Matt, it’s me Tanner I’m looking to get back into snowmobile 2024 snow season what kind of snowmobile you think I should buy
Thoughts on a ‘16 Yamaha viper turbo 270?
Some people are die-hards with those things, and love them. I've spent limited time on something that large.
Nice
I was thinking of buying a 2019 hardcore silber turbo or I just keep my 2013 m8 and put a cv tech clutch on. What do u think?
That's tough. You'd get a lot more out of the 2019, but lots more moneies 💰
Awesome video but i would not recomend a 850 fore a begginner
I would. A 600 isn't any less dangerous. It doesn't really reduce your chance of getting hurt. And you'll outgrow it really fast.
