Exactly why I prefer short linear games. Why waste my time playing one single boring 100+ hour open world fetch-quest game, when In the same amount of time, I could play 10+ different games?
Story of my life... It's why i like metroidvania's so much, most are around the 10 hour mark which is enough to be engaging without overstaying its welcome. And with how the maps work it's pretty easily identified if you discovered everything and you can move on to the next game
What a great video, i really enjoyed it and when you were reviewing Marsupilami i thought it looked familiar and sure enough i have the physical of it on the switch that i forgot i purchased months ago. 😄
Haha what a coincidence, time to play it then. 😁 I hope you are going to enjoy it! Glad you like this format, I think it fits my review style the best, so I definitely would like to make more of these kinds of videos in the future!
Hey Joy, I noticed that it's been a while since your last video. I hope you are doing well. I found your channel a few months ago and really enjoy your reviews, especially your indie metroidvania coverage. 😊 I hope we'll see you back soon.
The system purge games are by the same people who made tarnishing of juxtia! They got great pixel artists on their team and the game design is rock solid! Hope hollow point reaches its potential as a great game and maybe even gets a review from you 😊 I played goo keeper and agreed with you, the game is horrible unbalanced with some frustrating bosses early like the spider and later ones being a pushover if you got triple shot. I too hated the music, it was so bad that i turned it off and put on some of my own favorite game music to make it less annoying. I also really didn't like the cheap visuals and basic platforming. At least the interconnectivity was good like you said, and upgrades felt rewarding to look for. Nothing else in the video really caught my fancy though, but I'm sure that if you do more of these videos i'll find some amazing titles to play. I also have some more vacation next week so with the big halloween sale going on i'll be picking up tons of games. Gonna play the ones i'm unsure on first so i can refund them if need be. First up are mars2120, awaken astral blade and skelethrone chronicles of eiricona. If i have time maybe venture to the vile and mobius machine too!
Oh really?! I had no clue to be honest, but it makes sense. Yeah I definitely would like to review Hollow Point when the time comes! Glad we both agree on Goo Keeper haha, this was the game I was the most hesitant about putting in this video, but I'm happy I did. 😅 Ah no mention of Vision Soft Reset? I can't remember if you played it already, but this game is really amazing! The timeloop mechanic works great and only elevates the gameplay even more. I just can't recommend it enough, I'm not joking when I say it's probably in my top 10 metroidvanias of all time! ☺ Enjoy your vacation and all these games! I already read through your comment about Mars2120 quickly, so I know it really disappointed you, but hopefully the rest of the games won't.
@@GamingwithJoy15 i'm hesitant about timeloop mechanics which is why i didn't think i'd like ultros but that game had such amazing visuals, music and story that i couldn't help but love it. Vision soft reset doesn't look as pretty and i cannot imagine the music or story to rival ultros which is so far my favorite game i played this year. About mars 2120 i know i sounded very negative as if i hated the game but it was just mediocre to me. I'm a bit suprised you didn't notice the CC as i was constantly getting knocked down by enemy melee attacks, frozen and shocked. Maybe i should have used the skills more instead of relying so much on the ice shotgun and i would have done better that way. Still though not a game i'd ever replay or look back on fondly but i suppose it did somewhat fill out my day. I was glad though that i beat it in one day as i didn't want to spend more time on it and rather play more other games instead. Like skelethrone which i'm little over halfway through now i think. It is getting quite hard atm, with some bosses taking me over an hour. Maybe i should have gone with easy difficulty but the demo was great so i had faith that regular difficulty would be good. It mostly is but some bosses are a bit too hard so far. Anyways sorry for the long comment again, i just get carried away talking about games, it's too much fun! =p
Wow, that was a nice surprise seeing Vision Soft Reset on here! Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh I loved it! Both your games are underrated gems! ☺
Happy new year Joy, here's to a happy and healthy 2025. I hope you had a great Christmas 🎉😊
LIKE YOUR CHANNEL IT IS UUUUUUUUUNNNNDEEEEEEEEEER RATED!
Naw thank you so much! 😊
Too many good games and not enough time.

For sure!
Yes, well said!

picked up Catmaze and System Purge! Thanks for the video!
Awesome, have fun! You're very welcome!
Cat Maze is a delight I did not finish it and don't recall why so now I need to pick it up again.
Hope you will enjoy the rest of the game when the time comes!
cat maze is amazing!!!
Glad you enjoy it so much!
