Hoechlin imo is the best Superman of the new millenia so far. I just love his portrayal, his looks, his self-confidence as a Superman who is quite well right in the prime of his career. Although i really loved Brandon as Kingdom Come/Old Reeves Superman.
When Cavill took over the role the movie tone got all serious. less fun. We lost the elements of comedy mixed in with action that Reeves had. Brandon was a good follow up to Reeves.
True. Routh is the perfect embodiment of Superman. The voice, the mannerism, the body type and the face are ideal for Superman. DC have to replace Cavill with him

Absolutely loved seeing Brandon suit up as Superman again. He was so comfortable and natural with his second go around as Sups in Crisis on Infinite Earths. His acting was spot on with the Clark/Superman personality that people love over decades.

Superman Returns is STILL my favorite superhero movie of all time and CRIMINALLY underrated. I remember watching it in the theatre way back in 2006 when I was only 5 years old.

In that movie, Kevin Spacey was even better than Gene Hackman, I think he executed the corporate psychopath flawlessly, it wasn't cartoonish like with the original Superman movies. Brandon Routh very much channelled Christopher Reeve while making the role his own but did it even better than Reeve in my opinion as he was also able to bring some pathos and sadness as well being a foreigner to this world with no people of his own anymore which I thought was brilliant, although I'm glad they didn't make a sequel because I think the movie ended so well that any attempt to continue the story would've ruined it just like Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance somewhat tainted the original Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage which I ALSO think is a very underrated movie. Yes, I geeked out when I found out Mr. Routh was going to back the suit. Then I saw the leaked?/press photos? Of the suit he would be in... Making him the Kingdom Come Superman , wow, straight out fan boy moment (and I’m 50). I actually wondered how the shows were going to ignore that he is also playing Atom. When they just straight out said “he looks just like Ray Palmer”, it just made me smile.
Agreed. He looked too young back then even though he was around Reeve's age when Reeve first played Superman. Now that Routh is older, he looks more like Superman. I can't tell if that suit is good or bad though. It's hard to pull off the underwear on the outside these days.

Trust me, as a person who doesn't watch Supergirl, Arrow, or any other CW superhero shows other than the first season of The Flash, I watched this episode of the 'Crisis' with other people who usually dot watch these, and the scene with this actor playing Clark Kent as they travelled to the different earths BLEW AWAY everything else in the episode. It was the way he held himself and spoke to them, and then came back with the suit on... It just was SO GOOD!!That one scene in the Daily Planet felt like it elevated the whole episode
After Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh is the best Superman. Because he seems the most reminiscent of Reeve. Voice, build, mannerisms. Would love to see him portray the role again.

Agreed. He looked too young back then even though he was around Reeve's age when Reeve first played Superman. Now that Routh is older, he looks more like Superman. I can't tell if that suit is good or bad though. It's hard to pull off the underwear on the outside these days.

He still is a great Superman i always liked Superman Returns it was a nice homage to Reeves and Donner Superman era, i know people didnt want that kind of Superman movie but Routh did a great job.
Trust me, as a person who doesn't watch Supergirl, Arrow, or any other CW superhero shows other than the first season of The Flash, I watched this episode of the 'Crisis' with other people who usually dot watch these, and the scene with this actor playing Clark Kent as they travelled to the different earths BLEW AWAY everything else in the episode. It was the way he held himself and spoke to them, and then came back with the suit on... It just was SO GOOD!!That one scene in the Daily Planet felt like it elevated the whole episode

After Christopher Reeve, Brandon Routh is the best Superman. Because he seems the most reminiscent of Reeve. Voice, build, mannerisms. Would love to see him portray the role again.

You really have done a great job not only honering this version of Superman that fans grew up watching but made it your own as well. I know if Chris were still here he would be happy with what you done with this version of Superman.
Look at him, he’s primed to be Superman again, perfect age too. I want a Superman that has it down, he knows who he is and confident in his abilities. He has to inspire the justice league and Brandon is the guy to do it.

Mr Routh when i saw you in Superman Returns i was blown away by how much you reminded me of Christopher Reeve.
Brandon should the the TV Execs choice to play Superman in any forthcoming high budget standalone TV Show or TV Movies, ultimately he is Christopher Reeves (CR) successor and most likely the only actor to nail the iconic character since CR finished his run at theatres/cinema.

I love his Superman!!!! He's my 2nd favorite Clark/Superman. He's tied with Reeve for 2nd and Tom Welling is my number 1. But Returns is my favorite Supeman film.
Brandon Routh was a worth successor to Christoper Reeve. They even sound similar. Too bad the Superman movie he starred in wasn't well received or given a chance at a sequel to redeem itself. I would have liked to have seen Routh get as least a trilogy.
He was a good Superman. It wasn’t his fault people didn’t like Superman reruns. It was just the lack of chemistry with that dull Luise Lane portrayal.

Both characters exude an air of 'INNOCENCE' and both are very SWEET and KIND-HEARTED men. So I think Ray Palmer and Superman have alot in common, lol!!!

I was in elementary school the first time I watched Superman Return and I suddenly fell in love with Superman portrayed by Brandon Routh. I lowkey had a idol crush on him as a child.
