How to rip off a trailing arm | Hidden Falls Adventure Park

  • We have a bit of a tradition of riding at Hidden Falls the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year Joe and Randy brought out their Turbo S and XRC to join Ethan and I. We always start the day with "lets just take it easy and cruise" but wind up getting into some shenanigans.
Unfortunately, Joe tore the trailing arm off of his Turbo S which ultimately broke both of his radius rods, broke both CV joints on the axle and twisted his shock. This was our second ride in a row that a trailing arm that has a threaded heim joint has torn out of the threads and led to failure. We're no experts but seems to be a design flaw from our experience.
All in all it's always a good time riding with great people no matter how the day turns out. Gotta stay positive!

Badass video! What clutch work you have done on these beasts? I currently run KM3, 32s tho, on my xrs and I’m planning on upgrading to 35 zillas soon

1 year later, is your opinion of the 370 the same? Is the zilla and 370 still top 2 for 35” tires?

Yep still love the 370s. And yes zillas and 370s are still top 2. Really nice to have both sets and be able to switch between the two depending on where you’re riding. Have a few new tires we’re hoping to test out/compare soon!

@@slewcrewoffroad gun to your head, which tire is best for mixed terrain? Im upgrading cage and tires for a moab trip but i ride everything but bottomless mud. Last 2 years we hit hatfield mccoy, ouray, buffalo wilderness, marble falls and my local areas are muddy but we can avoid bottomless pits.

@TXsilvy if you hadn’t mentioned Moab I’d have no problem saying 370s for sure. Zillas are cheat codes on that slick rock though. I’d go zillas just because of that Moab trip and they still do almost as good as the rest of the places. The newer Obor RocScrapers are another option. Similar to zillas but cheaper and a little more firm so will get better longevity out of them. Hoping to test a set of those soon
