Great video of this trail and awesome Jeep!
Thanks! 👍 Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video! i love the map integration
Thanks!
Nice job. Sad that you didn’t take the last few obstacles at the end of North Pole .. where you go up and then back down.. that’s a fun section too.
Welp, I’ll just have to go back out and drive it again! Lol!
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy haha yea YOU DO!! I go to Hidden Falls at least once a month if not twice. How many times have you’ve been? Also I did like the 3D map view you did on the videos. That’s awesome. I’m going to pull up Google Google Earth and study it or I guess
I can do it in my OnX desktop app.
@@RockLander818 Thanks! I haven't been going as frequently as I used to in previous years, but I've been there too many times to count. My first trip there was in 2014 after we moved to the Austin area. OnX has a lot of the trails mapped, if not all of them, at Hidden Falls. It's a great resource!
Video was very well done, good job!
Thanks for checking it out!
freakin awesome off roading....don't know much about off road but this is awesome. good narrative good content 👍
Thanks Chris!
I am new to the area and hope there are easier trails there haha because IDK if my self or my jeep liberty can make it up either if these trails
There’s easier trails than these. And bypasses to a lot of the harder stuff. They give you a map with the difficulty rating for each trail.
oh man this was peak covid, must've been super empty at the time!
It was a few months after all the lockdowns. Not super busy but not quite "empty".
Cool video I've been searching for Rubicon vids for a while this was by far the best I'm looking to buy a rubicon but one that's stock so it hasn't had that kind of abuse..amazed at how well that thing goes!!
Thanks! I really appreciate that! I bought this one about a year and a half ago. 2004 5spd, with 104k miles. It was completely stock other than a 2" spacer lift in the front. All I've done suspension-wise is removed the spacer lift and added a 3" coil spring lift and 1.25" body lift and added 35" tires. It was a kit called the Zone Combo lift. It performs really well for the money. I've owned JKU Rubicons that were lifted higher and I think this performs just as well, if not better, thanks to the short wheelbase. I almost think she could tackle the Rubicon trail in the current form. Good luck on your search for a good used Rubicon! I know there's one out there for ya!
The Not-So-Ordinary Car Guy your lucky to have so many trails like that it looks awesome there.. not like that here in NH..would love to visit Texas some day
I've never been to NH but I'd like to visit someday. Have you visited Mount Washington?
The Not-So-Ordinary Car Guy yes a couple of times it’s only an hour and a half from where I live it’s incredible! Very narrow road to the summit
NHWilderness very cool! Bucket list!
That's one of our favorite parks. We go there monthly
Nice! What are some of the other off-road parks you frequent?
Hot springs ohv. Bridgeport. Or crossbar in Oklahoma
Nice! Going to have to check those out someday.
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy Barnwell Mountain Recreational Area in Gilmer, TX is worth going to as well if you’re in Texas.
Great video of the section of the park that I had just completed a day ago. I wish that you would have been there to join me in my JK. I think that you have just sold me on the Gaia app and the Samsung tablet, too.
That’s awesome! I’m now running gaia using a used iPad mini 4. The screen is slightly smaller but it’s much lighter and the app works smoother. It’s also a tad bit more expensive that the Samsung. Can’t go wrong with the Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 though! Best bang for your buck! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing. I’m planning on going there for the first time very soon. Do you ever guide newbies? Would gladly buy you lunch or dinner.
Don’t rip the Bead man that would not be a good Thing. Great video man good editing camera angles are on point near rating was awesome good job.
Thanks Mr. J!
What mapping system is that? Going next weekend. Excellent editing.
Thanks! I’m using an app called “Gaia GPS” with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Is it two way traffic? I wanna test my rig but wanna be able to turn around if it’s not capable
Yeah, it can be ran both ways.
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy thank you !
Does the park have compressors to air back up at the end?
They do!
Thanks! Great video by the way! I’m 2 hours out from being there myself.
@@anthonym3792 Awesome! It’s a great park!
What's up man, great video. I went to hidden falls last weekend and loved it. 10 hour round trip drive was worth it. But I would like to go back again and map the trails on the GPS since I felt like I spent most of my time figuring the map out, what tablet/app is that that you are using?
Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it out there. Where’d you drive from if you don’t mind me asking?
Oh, and the tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (2018) using Gaia GPS
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy I drove from Crosby Tx, Near Houston. GPS showed a 4:05 min estimate but towing two Can-Am X3's and fueling pushed it close to 5 hours each way. I do plan on going before New Years. And thanks, from what I was reading it seems like the galaxy tablets have the most accurate GPS chips.
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy would you mind doing a video on you Gaia configuration? I think many of us would benefit from your topo selections, what maps you imported that are adoring the trail names and how you are tracking your paths. Thanks!
@@robertcartes3000 I definitely could. I’ve been behind on my videos lately but I promise I will be back at it soon!
What size tires you running in this video?
35/12.50/15
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy Nice. Looks like 35's are more than capable at Hidden Falls then. Thanks for the reponse.
Great job... with the video footage, and driving. 👍🏼
Thank you! 👍
I would love to have trails like that around here in ohio, kinda sucked being by yourself ?
Yes it is nice having this near us! What area of Ohio are you in? And sometimes it's lonely but also I can go at my own pace and it's peaceful. There's plenty of people scattered throughout the park usually and it's possible to walk back to the main office if you get stranded.
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy iam north of cincy, yes it didnt look like anyone was there the day you was on the trails
My Dad spent some of his early years near Cincinnati. I remember him saying he used ride along with an off-road group out there wayyyy back in the day. We're talking like 50 years ago Lol! He did say it was a different kind of wheeling. More mud than rocks. But I'm actually used to the trails of the West where the trails were on public land and forest service roads. So having to go to a private park to wheel was a new concept when I moved to Texas six years ago. But in some ways it's nice having all different types of trails in one place.
I sleep in my boots too
😆
@@TheNotSoOrdinaryCarGuy lol. Enjoyed the video. The park map integration was sweet.
6:25 who put that tree there!
I know right? Who does that? lol
Nice video. AG5LC
Thanks for watching! 73! -KE7SAI
Not so ordinary car guy has a PhD “potentially precarious situation” 6:05
Lol!!
