The statue is called the "Integration Statue." It depicts FSU's first African American graduate, varsity athlete, and homecoming queen. The first graduate passed away many years ago. The varsity athlete and homecoming queen are brother and sister. They live in Tallahassee and are very active in community and campus affairs. They often participate in events on campus - especially those that deal with FSU history and diversity. There are quite a few photos that have been taken over the years of them standing in front of the statue.
Can you make a video about housing, what are the best/worst dorms, and how is your dorm experience. My fall/spring contract # is in the early 7000s and I'm scared I'm going to get bad housing.
worst dorms are salley and degraff and best are landis (mostly just for honors students but it opens up for regular students at some point), azalea, gilchrist, dorman & deviney
Thank you for making this video. I'm a rising freshman this year and to be honest learning all the information about FSU has been a bit confusing at times. Thank you for showing around campus it made things much easier lol. GO NOLES!!!
The building is called the Montgomery Building. It faces Landis Green, which was shown near the beginning of the tour. It was built as a gym and PE classroom building way back when FSU was a women's college. It has been gutted inside to make it a state of the art building for dance classes, rehearsals, and performances. The dance program at FSU is incredible!
I graduated from FSU ages ago but I still live in Tallahassee and am quite involved in the campus and community academic (both FSU and Florida A&M) and cultural/multicultural scenes. Feel free to contact me any time with any questions you might have. Montgomery is very centrally located to the main campus library, academic classrooms, dorms, dining options, etc. As I'm sure you know, the dance program is world class. Best wishes to you in this exciting new phase of your life! 💃📚💻
Oh, that's really good and I will definitely keep in contact, I'm trying to find out all I can because I live in another country in the Caribbean so I'll look for you on IG and message if I have any questions at all. Thanks so much for being of help to me 😇
Tadashi Okazaki u can’t always listen to what people say!! The academics are pretty hard so if u can’t live up to having good grades, you’re out. & every school has parties that students go to. That’s just a stigma FSU has.
SniffyToe That’s what I want to go for. And the film program is phenomenal. My dad knows people that work in Hollywood and independent and I asked them about USC and they said no go to FSU.
It was helpful. Thank you

t the 7000s is not bad! remember that people are STILL signing up for housing rn !
