At least for my school, if we have a fire drill they don’t make us line up alphabetically in the classroom anymore, we all just get in a line, doesn’t matter if it’s quiet or not, and all the classes just flood out of the 4 foot wide doors (line in between the two). Even though my middle school is on the second floor, we had a teacher who took us to the ground outside the classroom window and showed us the best ways to slow a fall, land safely, and get away from the school. I still remember how well it worked the day we had to use it.

PTSD symptoms started during high school and whenever we had a fire drill, my heart started racing and I started having an anxiety attack. When I tried to explain to the school about it and why and tried to ask if I could be allowed to leave class before the actual drill started (some kids with sensory processing issues were allowed to), they said they weren’t allowed to let me leave early unless the diagnosis was on my file. When I had tornado drills I was taught that position and we all went to the lowest point of the school in the middle (this happened to be the bathrooms next to the cafatearia and half the school was in them). Its a solid plan since smaller tornadoes damage the outside of a building first, and balling up protects your head from flying stuff and avoids you doing a kite position where your more likely to go flying.

When I had tornado drills I was taught that position and we all went to the lowest point of the school in the middle (this happened to be the bathrooms next to the cafatearia and half the school was in them). Its a solid plan since smaller tornadoes damage the outside of a building first, and balling up protects your head from flying stuff and avoids you doing a kite position where your more likely to go flying.
Plus for booty is exposed to everybody in the school

my school lock down drills here in Australia consists of crouching under the desk ad because i'm so tall i cant fit under the desk and i'm always at the front of the room next to the door
