TRU UPDATE: Major works during weekend closure

Deighton, Heaton Lodge and Huddersfield Viaduct all saw major works during a closure of the raikway line for the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) on Saturday, June 1 and Subday, June 2, 2024. The work in West Yorkshire is designed to speed up services between Leeds and Manchester. #transpennineexpress #tru #railway #trains #trainspotting

Thanks posting. Saved me having to get off the sofa and walking down to Heaton Lodge Jct to see for myself. Makes you realise what it must have been like back in the day. Building viaducts across Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Todmorden etc.

Absolutely correct I counted 12 orange overalls white helmets on Huddersfield station platform, zero work being done, they don’t even hide it

At 5:46, they are fixing the bit of wall that broke when the lifted out the steel bridge.

Why can't they donate that old foot bridge to some heritage railway rather then demolishing it. Sad about the house that had to be demolished aswel. What's the point in building's being listed, if they get demolished anyway. Great video though, I always watch your stuff and just subscribed.

It was the same at Banbury a few years ago GWR signal box's demolition instead of donating them now most of the signal box's in Cornwall are heading for the same demolition😮,​@@sarahandwills
