Apparently my Eleven piece was stolen for a UA-cam ad. I would like to say I am deeply appalled at whoever did this and if you ever steal my work again, steal a better piece
In 2015 you went from creepy generic $100 budget cg ripoff of disney movies, to a low budget netflix show. But in 2019... you literally became a sculpting God, half that shit looks way better than Disney's modern day movies. It's on Spiderman: ItSV levels of quality, if not higher.
There had to have been some kind of anatomy study mixed in here somewhere besides all this artwork, my face sculpts never improved at all until I did some studies of the planes of the face and some skulls. Most artists seem to avoid sharing studies. I don't really think practice makes perfect if you never actually study what you are trying to create.
I did a lot of work this year. It was the year I graduated and when classes finished i spent pretty much every hour I possibly could on 3d. Also, while I was still at uni I had help from a professional artist. The image with 4 characters I had constant feedback over about 6 months which helped enormously
"At least some progress" thats unrespectfully humble haha. Big jump in 2015. Nice video. Its nice to actually see how those we look upon struggled once. Or at least it gives you some relief. Sorry for the crappy english too tired to check for errors
The improvement is astounding! Maybe start trying out new body types/facial features? It seems a lot of them revolve around a “perfect” and very cute girl. Challenging yourself to get out of your comfort zone would bring so much to your art!
you should do a 2019 self portrait + on how to stylize real people :D ? i really struggle to stylize real life people into recognizeable toon people (its either too Uncanney or too unlike them)
In 3d or 2d? If it's 2d or both, then I'd say that the best way to make a recognizable cartoon of a person is to basically use a similar technique to a caricature. You're basically making a less realistic/more appealing version of a caricature. Exaggerate the features that really stand out on a person. It's easier to practice with distinctive looking celebrities because you can Google the celeb to find some caricatures people have already drawn to see if you're seeing the same prominent features. I'd also say that nose shapes are extremely underrated in terms of cartooning and that getting that shape right can sometimes make or break the cartoon. It's cliche, but you have to really do this a lot with all different kinds of faces and look at how others have done that.
Big thanks for sharing this Danny. Most artists hate their old work and are too embarrassed to share it. But for up and coming artists, seeing where great artists begin their journey is invaluable.
It's so awesome how you remember each concept artist or model. I imagine you might've looked them up when you originally did the video, but it's still so awesome. I remember when I do my commissions, I remember most people I interact with in the process to get the person(s) the perfect piece.
It takes a great deal of bravery to be able to show off your early work. And it's also one of the best motivators for new artists to see that quality takes practice and everyone has to start somewhere. Your current high skill level, through the amount of progress you've made, and the confidence you have will inspire thousands.
I`m at the end of my first year learning 3D design and animation and I hope to take a master degree in character design. This actually gave me more motivation and it shows that you wont be perfect the first times but, the more you work the better things will get. So thank you for that!
2:43 hey call me, beep me if you wanna an actually 3d model from this masterpiece 3:33 wow i'm totally in LOVE 💕💕 4:28 i really like the Mermaid ✨ 5:16 Peach babe 💕 5:38 Lara pickle's Mermaid? 6:24 i love the catgirl, is so cute 6:40 bowsette 🖤🖤
I always find it inspiring when great sculptures upload their old work. Gives me some hope that one day I’ll be able to create some amazing stuff as well
Woah hold up, look at 4:36 Ladybug looks so cool!! Like, it may be even better than the usual CGI... she looks so beautiful😍 Oh and there’s 4:58 as well
YES! I've waited forever for this video, professional artists rarely ever show their really old works that I could find. You're an inspiration keep it up! :D
Good good. I have to say its for the first time I see also personas in your sculpts. Usually, peoples work have general facial expressions, but your work has feelings - or thoughts behind their eyes. It makes it special. Its almost like I can talk to them. Good job.
This is fantastic! The progress of your skill can clearly be shown throught out the 6 years and seeing this has caused reality to hit me like a truck and Caused me to want to continue pushing to become a 3D artist/Modeller. Thanks for that and here's to Chloe and her rigging going successful!
2018 okay i know im commenting a lot but its because i have a lot of things to adore XD it took a lot of extra attention to detail and thought about the project for this one at 6:22. id have made the character and been done with it which is why you're a much better artist than me (duh) but you took the time to create a whole scene with clothes on the floor and all. great project!
I want to see you do muse, watching your video was what got me hooked into 3d,the process was so satisfying. It’d be nice to see you redo her and apply the new skills you’ve learned throughout the years since then.
Very inspiring to see just how much you've grown throughout the years. Things like this take a lot of time, I love it all. I think you should recreate your first piece you made. That brown haired girl you featured as your 2013 model vs the current blonde 2019 model. A true comparison there from past to present!
i would have loved to see the long video with you explaining what you don't like or would improve in a particular piece that way is an insight as to how to grow as an artist and helps if we are at "the same level" as you in certain stages of your artistic journey.
Great video Danny, it's really cool to see the progression you've made, it's really impressive! I really liked the hair result of the character in 3:33, would it be possible to get a breakdown of how you achieved that result?
As someone who is aspiring to be like you, can you identify what things you've added/changed in your work process? What were the 'gaps' that had gotten corrected/improved over the years? The improvement is just astounding!
I think your work was good early on. You've definitely improved but it's obvious that the potential was there. If I hadn't seen any of your new work and you showed me something from 4 years ago, I'm almost certain I'd know that you'd be killing it by now. Great stuff
I just started sculpting from school this year! hope I can sculpt something as cool as yours soon. so far i have only done 2 characters sculpt and got task to do 6 models by the end of my holiday october T^T it is to build up my portfolio before my internship so ye XD
PS did you remember all those names by memory? Im talking about you stating the names of each inspiration or reference. Looks like you actually remember the names, dang!!!
I really like that 2017 cover shot, i think that image got me to follow you. I also like the small girl from 2019. The one with the particle hair and paint stripes on her cheeks.
Amazing work and thanks for the extras you put up for purchasing. Very helpful.! How do you sculpt the eyelashes for the models shown at 3:15 , 4:54 , 5:27 ? Are they part of the eye lid or separate geometry? I'm asking for animation purposes as well. Thank you !
aww I would actually have preferred to hear what you think is not good on your pieces instead of just hearing names of various concept artists x) But thanks so much for the video! was really interesting to see! You modelled/sculpted a lot of really nice models very early on already!
I'm laughing because when I hit 2:30 I went "OH I LOVE THAT ONE!" just for you to say you were embarrassed by it!! I love it, I think maybe because of the lighting? Anyway, I'd love to see a 2019 redo of it.
Apparently my Eleven piece was stolen for a UA-cam ad. I would like to say I am deeply appalled at whoever did this and if you ever steal my work again, steal a better piece
I'm just glad this was able to be brought to your attention. Good luck if you take any action or anything.
@Alex's Could we at least go for a drink first?
When?
Łëø lol u must be young if u didn’t get that joke 😂
Łëø Child- it was a joke 🗿

Tino well of course do you know how hard it is to make things look good as they are?
2013* not 2015
disney looks bad now , i learn something new every day lmao
So what happened in 2015? Your skill seem to spike significantly that year.
Crossroads
There had to have been some kind of anatomy study mixed in here somewhere besides all this artwork, my face sculpts never improved at all until I did some studies of the planes of the face and some skulls. Steroids
You should redo the first one! Would love to see that all come full circle. Great work!
"At least some progress" thats unrespectfully humble haha. Big jump in 2015. Nice video. Its nice to actually see how those we look upon struggled once. Or at least it gives you some relief.
Sorry for the crappy english too tired to check for errors
That was sarcasm.
Your eleven work was stolen for a UA-cam ad, just wanted you to know this
Give me link I want to see
Idk I just had a ad for it, it was like a picture to cartoon thing, and I went to his from eleven from the show
Oof
UA-cam ads these days are SO FUCKING SICK. Specially the game ads... I really can't stand :(
Depressive Kiyohime MOM(noob) DAD(pro)
The improvement is astounding! Maybe start trying out new body types/facial features? It seems a lot of them revolve around a “perfect” and very cute girl. Challenging yourself to get out of your comfort zone would bring so much to your art!
Maybe a "perfect" and "cute" Conan the Barbarian lol XD
You call your 2013 work cringe just think if you saw my 1998 work. Another man's cringe is another's delight.
6:47 I don’t know why, but I just really like this one. It’s just so pretty.
you should do a 2019 self portrait + on how to stylize real people :D ?

Respect that you're showing your progress like this. It is not always my style but it is great to see the quality improving over time. Good stuff m8.
4:33 and 4:58 is that MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!!!!
M J no, its Patrick
Ikrrrr XD
2:13 Hawk Moth
4:59 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! You are the best! I love MLB! Thanks for taking some time out of your 2017 for making it!
6:25 I’m sorry but this is absolutely adorable
Black Cat D.va (Overwatch). I loved this one too cuz it's my fav in game skin for her. :3

I would love to see you recreate your first model 🤩✨
Oh shit!! My man's starting to rig??? Hell yeah brother!!!
7:05 Beautiful hair here
We want a lesson about hair like this
and
How to make a pigtail in the hair
I always find it inspiring when great sculptures upload their old work. Gives me some hope that one day I’ll be able to create some amazing stuff as well
Woah hold up, look at 4:36 Ladybug looks so cool!! Like, it may be even better than the usual CGI... she looks so beautiful😍

Really amazing how regular practice can sharpen one's 3D skills! Thank you for this inspiring video.
Is amazing seems your art evolving in a great and fascinating way, really good job.
This is great stuff Danny. Awesome progression. Truly inspiring!! Thanks so much for sharing. Really appreciated!!
You're one of my favorite artists Danny. Love your artstyle. Thanks for sharing this inspiration.
Good job.
Digging that subtle "I run" flex in the background there. I see that 10k.
I actually considered removing them but thought flexing was the way forward 😂
Thank you for sharing, I love seeing artist's progress.
I now realise how much of your work I've seen passing by throughout these years! That's really cool to see, I love the mermaid one
I love your characters
In 2015 they got a lot better really quickly
The video really motivates me to continue trying to make characters
Wow what a great development, thank you for sharing it with us. 😊❤️
This is fantastic! The progress of your skill can clearly be shown throught out the 6 years and seeing this has caused reality to hit me like a truck and Caused me to want to continue pushing to become a 3D artist/Modeller. Thanks for that and here's to Chloe and her rigging going successful!
I think you’re too hard on yourself, the animations you’re embarrassed by are actually so good.
Hello! I’m sorry but I laughed at the first model on the thumbnail... looked like an alien
Your progress is amazing! I hope I can look back at my work and see as much as what you have done 🙌🏼✨
5:45 oooh i absolutely love the painted fade out effect. very creative.
Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing. I'm sure it will help many people. Congratulations!
You are amazing and a true inspiration
It’s always a treat to watch people’s progression
Your progress is amazing. I can't move on
that's amazing progress! I love the super flowy hair of the girls pictured from behind at 6:44 and 6:47
Great and brave video! Amazing how far you've come and how quickly as well!
Such an improvement, great job dude.
4:16 not gonna lie this is an accurate depiction of poppy. You got the creepy/uncanny vibe going with her with a cute setting.
I want to see you do muse, watching your video was what got me hooked into 3d,the process was so satisfying. It’d be nice to see you redo her and apply the new skills you’ve learned throughout the years since then.
They all look so good
Wow man beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
I wouldnt have minded the long version of the video tbh, I would be very interested to see what you have to say about every piece!
I agree
Well done! You’ve really improved so much.
Very cool. Seeing the difference from time and experience is amazing.
6:23 Dva black cat skin??
what a considerable and beautiful difference 🥰
Great job dude! you have an amazing evolution.
Thanks for this Danny. Sometimes hope is worth a thousand tutorials. ;0)
What 3D program did u use? I would like to try it out some time.🤙🏼😅
Fantastic Progress!! You are such an inspiration!!
Very inspiring to see just how much you've grown throughout the years. Things like this take a lot of time, I love it all. I think you should recreate your first piece you made. That brown haired girl you featured as your 2013 model vs the current blonde 2019 model. A true comparison there from past to present!

Id love to see how u do the anime style charators in blender WOW. Dobu have tutorials on then and colouring them???
Love that you did a sculpt of Kim Possible! i watched that show all the time :D
You were never awful, but you did get better.
Great video Danny, it's really cool to see the progression you've made, it's really impressive! I really liked the hair result of the character in 3:33, would it be possible to get a breakdown of how you achieved that result?
very inspiring thank you for this
this gives me hope
As someone who is aspiring to be like you, can you identify what things you've added/changed in your work process? What were the 'gaps' that had gotten corrected/improved over the years? The improvement is just astounding!
Dude, you've really improved at your CGI character skills. Pixar should hire you.
I think your work was good early on. You've definitely improved but it's obvious that the potential was there. If I hadn't seen any of your new work and you showed me something from 4 years ago, I'm almost certain I'd know that you'd be killing it by now. Great stuff
Kudos to you, I can’t stop drawing girls, since I am one, but you’re a guy and can model girls very well! Amazing work overall
4:32 and 4:58 *do I see mlb 乂❤O❤乂*
4:32 I love this one!! 💕
great video Danny, nice to see your works. I don't miss any of your videos ;)
Muito bom! Parabéns!!
I just started sculpting from school this year! hope I can sculpt something as cool as yours soon. so far i have only done 2 characters sculpt and got task to do 6 models by the end of my holiday october T^T it is to build up my portfolio before my internship so ye XD
Well that's a motivation boost, thanks for sharing!
Nice man, clearly show you progressed super! Nice video
AS many stated, suddenly there is a huge jump in quality in 2015. You remember what happened, did you do tuts or some study?
PS did you remember all those names by memory? Im talking about you stating the names of each inspiration or reference. Looks like you actually remember the names, dang!!!
I really like that 2017 cover shot, i think that image got me to follow you. I also like the small girl from 2019. The one with the particle hair and paint stripes on her cheeks.
Great work and improvement, bro.
Amazing!
Oh that's amazing! So inspiring :)

This is truly amazing I have some of my own
aww I would actually have preferred to hear what you think is not good on your pieces instead of just hearing names of various concept artists x) But thanks so much for the video! was really interesting to see! You modelled/sculpted a lot of really nice models very early on already!
Can you please make a tutorial on how you make that 2:35 skin, I can’t find how to make Pixar style skin. Please
I'm laughing because when I hit 2:30 I went "OH I LOVE THAT ONE!" just for you to say you were embarrassed by it!! I love it, I think maybe because of the lighting? Anyway, I'd love to see a 2019 redo of it.
You should do a remake of the 2013 one.
I can hardly wait for 2023 to get here
4:10 TAERI!!!💕💕💕
Yea, yea, stop being so annoyingly humble. Your development is simply amazing and you know it. Great work, man! Wish i had the time...
Amazing

-I like the fish.
GREAT 👍
Cool, inspiring!
Hit or miss
