- John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Victor Bailey, and Steve Bailey "Double Bass Jam" at the Berklee Performance Center, September 30, 2013. #berklee #berkleecollegeofmusic
Victor Wooten: Performance Scholar in Residence, Berklee Bass Department
John Patitucci: Performance Scholar in Residence, Berklee Bass Department
Victor Bailey: Associate Professor, Berklee Bass Department
Steve Bailey: Chair, Berklee Bass Department
Met Victor Bailey at Berklee in 1979.
He was playing in a band with Steve Vai. Band had a unique sound. Victor with his Philadelphia and in the pocket style. Steve with his Rock / jazz Jimi Hendrix tones. Their band warmed up for another band with Lauren Lehman on guitar. Victor was a serious musician as we all know. A kind man and he always told me that his best friend was drummer Poogie Bell. I had the pleasure of keeping in touch with Victor when he would be on tour with various bands. Anytime he was on tour I took him out to dinner. At Berklee in 1979 he came to my dorm room upstairs on Boyston Street. He brought his bass, I had mine we plugged into an amp and went at it. He kicked my butt. For years I wanted to get him back I would practice, practice. Never had the chance. My man Vic - RIP.
I knew I read wrong when I thought I saw "john petrucci"
It was risky: creative concentration of such perfect bassist in one place could result in implosion of the universe.
It's astonishing to me how they both keep their signature tones even on the double bass😎... This is a parallel universe...
2 victor and 2 bailey .. oh man that just awesome
I liked the bit where Victor Bailey played.
I was there!! Probably one of the best shows I have ever attended
Sounds Patitucci on the double bass is very clean. He is great double bass player
i must admit that Victor Bailey did great job with his great solo part. He has best ears and attitude there❤️
Rip Maestro , World miss You❤️❤️
Conclusive proof that you can never have enough bass...amazing work
First time I see Victor Wooten playing a double bass!
It’s beautiful. I’ve looked at this for 5 hours now
Good on those electric bass players for jumping on the doubles and doing a bit of bling, but Patitucci is just next level!
It's amazing how much clarity they have in their playing... Some of my favorite bass players here!! wooo
I can’t believe I found this, I went there when I was 13 and this concert changed my life. Amazing to see all this bass skill
R.I.P Victor Bailey
Fabulous! And may God bless brushes on drums - love it.
Absolutely incredible, three of my favorite bass players together on stage, hope to see more of this awesome concert!
could watch this all day
I was in attendance, awesome doesn't even describe the event.
Victor Bailey R.I.P. 🙏🏻💕
It's so jazzily funky
Love it!!
Incredible !!
Victor Wooten is a splendid master!
The joy of playing with someone you respect
Ii was there. All of those guys are insane
Sensacional!!!!
So clever with the electric bass. Plucking with the rhythm so sick
Now this is really tastefully good, best thing I've listened to in a long time. I play upright bass and electric. Hearing several upright basses together is a mind opener for me. Tone, tone and more tone.
Tone is what I like, not volume, not rhythm, not fast playing, not arpeggios. I do like a good feeling bass solo. But in the end for me it's the tone that makes me love the upright bass!
Só os feras, muito top!
Talents!
Fantastic
Beautiful...Paulo from BRASIL.
