The keyboardplayer is Frederico Pena. He's a great guy and a phenomenal keyboard player, songwriter and soloist. He's played with Meshell Ndegeocello and Maxwell to name a few.
Love that keyboard player.... every time I jam along with this I look up and see him grinning and I cant help but grin back...plus the keys sound killer in this
I saw Vic Wooten at the NAMM show some years ago. What a super fun guy to not only talk to but to watch play. He was phenomenal. He truly loved his craft!
You might be joking, or not. But I could see this happening more and more as time goes on. I’m not sure why it doesn’t happen more already, as a matter of fact.
Yeah, these guys are on my all-time list too. I'm a life long career bassist so it's always a kick to meet these guys at various shows. I remember once being asked by Bill Dickens if I played too. After seeing him play I could only respond with, " not really". Sometimes it's a fine line between inspiration and intimidation.
I just clicked on this guy, I never heard of him but he was an outstanding bassist. Thought I come back to you to let you know I just checked him out. Great musician.
+Jonathan Lamb From experience, what happened was the right hand camera went down, probably a loose cable. The cam operators can't hear any directions, so they just keep shooting their mark. The guy on the right hand camera probably didn't know his feed was down. Meanwhile the director is pulling his hair out, and resorting to boring shots of the keyboard player until he can get someone down there to fix the lost feed.
IN THIS VIDEO VICTOR WOOTEN PLAYS A 4 STRING FODERA YIN - YANG, STANLEY CLARKE PLAYS AN ALEMBIC TENOR BASS ( WHICH IS TUNED HALF AN OCTAVE BELOW THE USUAL EADG TUNING ) MARCUS MILLER IS PLAYING A FENDER CUSTOM SHOP MM SIGNATURE 4 STRING...REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON...
This video is pretty old, which makes me wonder why there aren't any comments mentioning how into it the keyboard player was. That dude poured his heart and soul into this.
Kyle ____ being on stage with those 3 getting his face on camera with them, hell yea he had a different song in His head though , he was jamming to it goes:IM GETTING PAAAAAAAIIIIIIDDDDDDD YEA YEA YEA. I mean come on some dude tell s you he played with Vic Wooten, and your trying to get started ,you'll want that dude in your band,,for publicity more than his talent
generally the black color hides a lot of things .... so we do not force and we will never end to astonish the whole world of our prowess.simply beautiful.
Well.... three fantastic Bass players on one stage. Perhaps not something thats always necessary. I believe one good able bodied Bass player is all it takes to drive any song in any genre in any band.I speak as a fellow bass player. However I know one thing, small minded perhaps even envious musicians have for decades made fun and jokes about bass players saying its an easy instrument to play. This has been taken so much to heart I believe that scores of players have invested in basses with upwards of five, six even eight strings or more.WHY? The fact remains bass guitarists play a vital role in most genres of modern popular music and the worlds most memorable songs were recorded on four string basses.ask stanley clarke. BLESSINGS....
Greetings..I totally agree with you. Ive frustratedly tried to explain this for years to those for whom the penny has not yet dropped(or should I say for whom the real essence of true appreciation in music has not yet become a reality). I can only suggest that the purchase of decent quality audio equipment might help biased individuals to hear more clearly what the true dynamics are within the music they listen to and that includes the indonesian/ malaysian gamelon....ha ha..BLESSINGS....
For the most part I agree with you all on the "number of strings issue" when it comes to bass, but as a predominantly 5 string player, I have to say I find the extra low's from a 5 can help fill out music at times. I did play 6 but mainly to make some things easier, now I'd rather improve my playing by having to work harder on less strings ;) and who knows, one day I may lose the 5 string and go back to 4 all the time, not just when I play my fretless
It doesn't really matter (unless it creates problems), I could explain why people do it and it makes a lot of sense which is why people but them, however just know it doesn't matter and the best bassists can get it done with just four, sometimes THREE. It doesn't matter. If it accomplishes what you want, good. That's all that needs to be said.
I just watched Thunderfingers the John Entwhistle documentary, I read several comments saying he was the greatest bassist of all time, obviously those people have never heard of Stanley Clark.
I think Victor was 8 when he started playing professionally. I've always been impressed with his playing, but that's all a matter of taste. I also really like Stu Hamm, a different style, but also a great player.
You do realize that there are multiple cameras, not just one guy running around looking like a fool. Plus, shots are determined by the director, the camera crew are given an area or person to focus on by the director while there is a tech who switches between camera feeds as told by the director. Final product, blame the director.
Amazing! 3 absolute masters of the bass guitar on stage together! Wish I could have seen this live!
Me too🎸🎵🎶🎙🎶
lead bass, rhythm bass, bass bass - Gawd, who knew? splendid & ty ty ty!
The keyboardplayer is Frederico Pena. He's a great guy and a phenomenal keyboard player, songwriter and soloist. He's played with Meshell Ndegeocello and Maxwell to name a few.
👏👏👏
seeing guys like this makes me play bass every damn day i want to acheive theyre greatness
Love that keyboard player.... every time I jam along with this I look up and see him grinning and I cant help but grin back...plus the keys sound killer in this

The rhythm master, the solo machine and the composer.
love the three of them but the keyboard player is killing on this! he's having so much fun!
Stanleys killing it on the Bass too. If this Bass could talk 😉🎸
It's Michael Peña! 👍
Three of the best bassists of all time on the same stage,& the results are truly awesome! Thanks for posting this great video!
The holy trinity of bass
Three major cornerstones of the bass playing road. Thanks for sharing!
I saw Vic Wooten at the NAMM show some years ago. What a super fun guy to not only talk to but to watch play. He was phenomenal. He truly loved his craft!
this is the proof: a good band needs nothing more than bass players.
Spinal Tap's "Big Bottom" is yet another proof.
Respect
you forget the keyboardist n the drummer
Bass and drums
You might be joking, or not. But I could see this happening more and more as time goes on. I’m not sure why it doesn’t happen more already, as a matter of fact.
Yessssss !!! Fantastic slap & keyboard !!! Drums - just awesome. Respect.
Yeah, these guys are on my all-time list too. I'm a life long career bassist so it's always a kick to meet these guys at various shows. I remember once being asked by Bill Dickens if I played too. Understand “do you play?”
Well dude yeah I did until I watched you then i went home and apologised to my basses for how bad I am
I just clicked on this guy, I never heard of him but he was an outstanding bassist. Thought I come back to you to let you know I just checked him out. Great musician.
The director forgot Victor Wooten was on stage until 2:25
Hahahah exactly
+Jonathan Lamb At least we get to see a lot of the keyboard player! -Said nobody, ever.
True!
+Jonathan Lamb From experience, what happened was the right hand camera went down, probably a loose cable. The cam operators can't hear any directions, so they just keep shooting their mark. The guy on the right hand camera probably didn't know his feed was down.

Manning Bartlett It's funnier to imagine he just forgot.
Fender,Alembic ,Fodera ❤❤❤
IN THIS VIDEO VICTOR WOOTEN PLAYS A 4 STRING FODERA YIN - YANG, STANLEY CLARKE PLAYS AN ALEMBIC TENOR BASS ( WHICH IS TUNED HALF AN OCTAVE BELOW THE USUAL EADG TUNING ) MARCUS MILLER IS PLAYING A FENDER CUSTOM SHOP MM SIGNATURE 4 STRING...REST IN PEACE MICHAEL JACKSON...
I know it’s been like 7 years, but what exactly do you mean by half an octave?
I think the term „tenor bass“ usually refers to tuning the 4 strings as A-D-G-C (instead of standard tuning E-A-D-G). But higher, not lower.
Dude...there is truly no way for you to have TOO MUCH bass. Love these guys.
1:20am and you guys got me laughing and tapping my foot! Too bad I haven't seem this until now!! Talk about big name bassists!! Nice backup too!!
GRACIOUS! One of the best arguments to let the second bass cover the lead!
marcus millers tone is so amazing along with the faces he was making. and this video needed to show victor more
Love that people just listen and enjoys with no phones in hand
This video is pretty old, which makes me wonder why there aren't any comments mentioning how into it the keyboard player was. That dude poured his heart and soul into this.

That was nice... 3 Super talented guys!!

Well.... three fantastic Bass players on one stage. Perhaps not something thats always necessary.

I agree, 4 string bass guitars are all ill play, any more strings is not needed at all...
Thats great.... a brother after my own heart....Blessings....
Greetings..I totally agree with you. Let's all keep acting like youtube isn't full of amazing Victor Wooten clips from it's inception!
All three incredible bass players ... I seen them in separate concerts.. Wish I seen them all together! YOU tube is just fine🍺😎
The most ambitious crossover of all time
Three bass players and the least low end of any vid on YT.
YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!
Espectacular !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, as an up and coming bassist for 40 years :) I got to say, I love this man. Lol.
Stanley, Marcus and Victor, paying tribute to MJ! :"BEAT IT"
Bro I love how they all still kept their style
Marvelous crisp & clean solo by master bass player Stanley Clarke at
1:55 to 2:55.🎵🎶🎶🎸
I just watched Thunderfingers the John Entwhistle documentary, I read several comments saying he was the greatest bassist of all time, obviously those people have never heard of Stanley Clark.
Excellent!
This three infirm are undoubtedly one of the best in the world! save bass
I think Victor was 8 when he started playing professionally. I've always been impressed with his playing, but that's all a matter of taste. I also really like Stu Hamm, a different style, but also a great player.
This is literally what ive been searching for for years...
Black pick cover
He's in love with the keyboard player.
Ive seen both Wooten and Clarke and for me, Wooten made my adrenaline flow from his awesome bass playing.
The cameraman seemed to really dislike Victor :( great show though!
I was thinking the exact opposite.
Good for you.
But he loves the Keyboard dude xD
You do realize that there are multiple cameras, not just one guy running around looking like a fool. ufffffff valla tres que se fueron a juntar.... increible!!!!!
Proof that even the greatest Bass players in the world can be sabotaged by shoddy camera work and a woeful mix.
Ouch.
@@Nelson_Swamp Yep someone had to say it. Don't get me wrong i love these guys and their world class playing. but i just can listen to this video.
1. Marcus Miller
2.Vic Wooten
3.Stanley Clarke
Awesome trio I think they're the best trio maybe of all time apart from Blink 182 & Cream
beautiful
Three of the greatest of all time...
What's up with the camera? Victor handles the brilliant solo voice for over two minutes, and the camera never sees him?!
shhhhhh - you can still hear him.
I wonder if the producers got on him for that????
Stanley is playing the solo.
@@dmacrolens
Nope. Did you even watch the video?
One of my favorites
All three of them are amazing musicians by themselves. But having 3 bassists playing at the same time is ridiculous.
I can never get enough of Millers tone... His J sounds like it's about to bite somebody.
02:22 Oh yeah Victor is there too
Amazing versión from the best of bass players
It'd rule if they did a version of Spinal Tap's Big Bottom.
That was the first time I ever saw three bass players!
YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN!!
Stanley Clarke- what an inspiration
Derico Watson on drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely the BEST, and not inhibiting the myriad of rhythm/counter rhythms that are going on...!!!
I consider you guys are three of the best bass guitar players in the world 👍👍👍
1:54 oooouuu victor there you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly 3 living legends of bass. I give my left @#$% to see this trio!
