One of the best fountain pen instructional videos I've seen! It cuts to the chase, is very specific and is clearly thought-out and well made. Thanks, fountain pen people!
This video really helps newbies like me who just got in the hobby of fountain pens.
+Nick Smith Glad it was helpful!
I just rescued 3 fountain pens, that used to belong to my father. I'm saying "used to" because know they are mine! 😉 I always been truly amazed about this kind of pens. I love them because they are so elegant and also gives some kind of old time fashion look to my handwriting. I'M so thankful for these information. I didn't know that there's so many kind of refill options. And inks. Thank you.

All you need to do now is learn how to spell and get rid of your bad attempt at making jokes!
@@redblade8160 well, I'm sorry if I misspelled some words. English is not my first language. I'm still learning. You know, it's difficult to improve in another language, but your criticism will help me. Thank you (this is sarcasm, y ese es el chiste)
@@Milichay Given that you're still learning I think you did rather well. :D
Pakistan has a Requirment to use fountain pens after 5th grade
@@birbboi4683 interesting. And very elegant.
I now switched to a fountain pen to avoid producing WASTE from disposable pens and for ELEGANCE. #ZeroWaste
ガチャ•• Sakura I mean they both waste the same amount.
...But then you have waste from the packaging of the pen as well as the ink bottles you use up... So is it really zero-waste?
@@hal013 the packaging is definitely something I'd think of but some more expensive pens have leather packaging that can be reused even the cardboard ones, also the ink bottles are very easily reused they are just glass containers
I've switched to fountain pens because I have to use them at school
@@vrooomvrooom230 lucky
why am I watching this. I don't even own a fountain pen.
Same here...
same
Same here, but it makes me want one
Storm reese Update: The urge has grown so much that I bought a pilot metropolitan.
I'm in middle school and I just ordered one too
What I do in my spare time:
Decide what I want from JetPens for my birthday even though that's impossible to just choose one because of the good prices and lots to choose from. Thank you!
Reese L Yay! Happy birthday! :)
Actually it's not my birthday. My parents just like to be early on stuff. ( Like me and my sisters birthday presents, they are the best and JetPens is, too!)
Reese L Aww, that's very thoughtful of them! :)
I do the exact same thing but it isn't My b day

Good job Jetpens, you not only delivery my stuff on time, but you also keep me entertained! Keep it up!
+andresisthename Thanks for your encouragement! :)
Thank you for this video! I started to be interested in foutain pens these days and I didn't know where to start. This video is very informative and educational for those who wanted to started using or collecting fountain pens. :3

no cluttered background

easy to understand graphic w animation
this looks very professional
Thank you for this video - it's comprehensive, every instruction is clear, and the knowledge behind how everything works is impeccable.
This is the best kind of self-promotion for a business, in my opinion - you give people a free quality resource, while simultaneously instilling confidence in prospective buyers to make a purchase.
Personally, I've been trying to find out 'where the cartridges go' in a fountain pen that I inherited from my dad recently.
Your video is one of the only ones that I found while searching for 'refilling a fountain pen' that explains about the existence of converters.
Even from Parker (the maker of the pen) themselves I only found a video about replacing throwaway cartridges...
I will be keeping your business in mind
That was extremely helpful, thank you JetPens! I just filled (with Diamine ink) my TWSBI Diamond Mini for the first time, and this video really eased my fears.
I just ordered my first fountain pen. And I had to research how to refill it because it had no directions. This was very helpful,it showed all of the different types of refills and cut to the chase! Thank you :)
Incredibly good instructions, I found my mother's old Sheaffer Triumph Imperial and with some cleaning the converter filling worked flawlessly, going to use the knowledge on how to fill a vaccum filling once my vintage Sheaffer arrives.
best F.P video I ever watched
+chander kant Thank you for watching!
Whenever you re-fill these pens, it’s so cool to look at it! They are also very useful on some points.
This one is super helpful the most helpful part is when you showed us how to fill a cartridge fountain pen with any kinda ink color using a syringe I'll have to one day try out that particular arty hack.
Thank you so much! My grandma gave me my late grandpa’s favorite fountain pen so ive been so curious on how to use it. It means a lot to me that my grandma gave it to me, so i intend to put it to good use!
Very clear and thorough. Easy to follow and understand, thank you very much.
Thank you so much for making this video so clear and beginner-friendly. I'm planning to buy a new fountain pen for sketching, but the refill mechanisms are intimidating.
Thank you for making such useful videos! I was worried I wouldn't find a video to show me how to use my first calligraphy pen set 💞
My grandma remembers her old fountain pen she had in school from a LONG time ago, it was one of those types you see in cartoons where it's got a lever that you pull back on to draw in the ink. Sadly it's been lost to time, I woulda loved to have seen it.
Thanks for this video. I just got some fountain pend and it was very helpful
Thank you. I was hesitant to push hard enough to pierce. Felt like I was gonna break it. I cowboyed up and got her done without issue. Thank you 🙏
You should be on r/ihadastroke. This makes no sense.
Clear, direct, helpful video. Thank you.
Clear, useful video on filling systems. I have a few old, ‘vintage’ pens using levers located in the side of the barrel to draw and fill ink. So, that’s another filling method.
When those old ink sacs begin to fail, they can be replaced with new sacs made of better material. Enjoy your lever fillers.
Thank you so much for all the information. Easy to follow and very informative. I was actually ready to return a new pen because it wasn't filling...you saved me a lot of headaches!
You also want to make sure to have expel a couple of drops of ink from the nib after filling your pen from a bottle. This prevents the pen from burping
Thank you! This helped a lot! Today I bought a new piston fountain pen! And I didn't knew anything! I'm Soo happy thx guys!
Just got a fountain pen and I had a hard time trying to figure out how to fill it 😅and since this I have little knowledge on fountain pens, this video help a lot!! Thank u!!!
wanna thank this video (& the whole jetpens team) for getting me into fountain pens in the first place. thanks!
I have a handful of pens with converters - I've only used cartridges before now - coming in the mail, so I'm happy to have found this one in researching how to properly fill my new pens. Thanks for that, well-done video! Seems so simple even a newbie like me can do it!
You can definitely do it! Good luck!
Just make sure you use the right type of ink
Thank you for this video. I was looking for options with more ink capacity but wasn't sure how to fill it correctly. 👌🏾👌🏾
This taught me how to fill my new vacuum cartridge pen. Thank you! I would have never guessed, and it worked!!

As an owner of a Cross Aventura Fountain Pen, I have to say I prefer to use a converter when using my pen. I can expand the ink to other brands. The ink I'm using is one I bought from Hobby Lobby.
Thank you I could NOT work it out until I found your video! So grateful.
So happy to hear that!
Very helpful. Thank you for such a good video.

Thanks! Helped me a lot!
I bought the fountain pen for cheap price but I thought I will not be able to write neatly with it but now I've improved and I write more and much better
Thank you. Your video helped a lot.
It is very helpful video to understand how to use cartridge in fountain pen.
+Arbind Jha Glad you found it helpful!
Both your tone and cadence are perfect.
This was super helpful.
This was really nice, Thank you
Another advantage to an eyedropper pen, or using a syringe. You can use up every last drop in the ink bottle rather than needing enough to keep the nib submerged.
There's one pen with a built in filling mechanism that has that advantage, the Sheaffer Snorkel (and it's successor, the PFM as well as some of the Legacy line).
@@teaartist6455 hi so can u plz tell me which is the best way for me apart from cartridges? Plz plz reply.
@@cj.x7983
Best way to do what specifically?
Fill your pen?
What do you value most? Choosing whatever inks you want, convenience, being able to access the last bit of ink in a bottle?
If you want people to help it's generally a good idea to describe what exactly you want them to help you with.
@@teaartist6455 hi chill dude chill I was busy that time but for me money is not a problem I have acess to ink bottle and I want something in which the ink leaks a lot less apart from cartridges.
@@cj.x7983
I am chill, I'm merely trying to explain that if you aren't describing your exact problem I can't really help you.
Are you someone who's not a native English speaker?
"What do you value most" means "What is most important to you". It doesn't have anything directly to do with money.
If by leak you mean actual leaking, then there's no pen that I could specifically recommend as most/all decent modern ones don't leak, the only thing I'd advise against is pens before maybe the 40s. Not all pens from that era are at any particular risk for leaking, but it was still pretty early and as far as I know there were still a good amount of pens that weren't that great
If you mean something where it's hard to get your hands dirty when filling it, the main thing that will help you with that is watching your fingers, having a wiping cloth at hand and taking care to to rest them at the edge of the bottle or holding the wiping cloth too close to the part you are touching the nib with. It's generally best to fold whatever you use a few times and first touch the feed with just a tip to take up most of the excess ink. Touching the bottle with the feed beforehand is also a valid tactic to get rid of some of the excess ink, but don't try to withe the nib at the edge of the bottle.
The voice of the girl satisfies my day😉😃
This has to be one of the best videos on the internet.
Very impressing video with true knowledge
Regardless of convenience, gotta admit, vacuum filling is hella satisfying to watch filling the pen :)
Thank you for the help
Awesome video...I'm glad I came across this.
+Amber Frend Thanks for watching!
Thanks didn't know that
Great video

Once I had bought one form daiso (around 1.3 usd) I did not know how to used it so I smashed the big in accidently, I pressed the nib against the carriage so it broke:(
very clear... thanks a lot!!!
Nice I have learned many things..
