It was what I wanted for him as well. It was sad how he tried to live a normal life then got sucked into all this mess. I wanted him to live a normal life with dean in the end but the fact that he did it for dean as well as himself was good enough for me

You could see that it was more then him missing his brother too. Apart of him miss the hunt to. He missed being on road with brother hunting; the family business.
Great ending to a great show, but honestly, I'm just impressed that Sam could still have kids after the hit he took on that Japanese game show.

Kinda goes full circle. Cause Dean even as a kid raised his little brother Sam. Cause John was just a shell. His perfect wife, gone. And Dean, he didn’t just have to be a brother. He had to be a father, he had to be a mother, to keep Sam safe. And now Sam has a son named Dean who he is raising as the father that John could never be. The father that Dean had to be for Sam.

All the deaths i invisioned from him in the very end that defiently wasn't one of them. I mean I loved that he died on the job and he knew he would I was just expecting something more brutal.

@@shaniceball9052because prior to this they were under Chuck’s control without their knowledge so when Jack defeated him and became the new “god” he basically righted all the wrongs and made a balance that couldn’t be messed with, therefore Sam and Dean stopped being immune to all the things they were killing, Dean died because of an accident on a job and Sam got what he and his brother wanted for him and that was a normal life. Sam might’ve got what he was wanting but at the same time you could tell he wasn’t content and at peace until he passed away and you saw him show up next to Dean on the bridge

My mom and I started watching this show together in 2005 when it started. She died in 2006 just before the 2nd season began. This totally woulda been her favorite show.

A great ending to a fantastic show .And sad after watching every episode over 15 years .And the fact that Sam had a kid that he named Dean considering that the kid would never have grown up to get to know Dean in person . And that last drive that Dean took in the afterlife " the length of Sam's life a great and powerful ending .
By the way, the show turns 17 today.

The second the "comic nepotism" was cured it made every single thing in the show that the critics always hated the perdicibility of the fight scenes that one of the brothers stabs the big bad while the big bay monologues, the plot armor. Dean never would have thought that he would be happy when not hunting, and always predicted that that would be how he would die, on the job. And sam always just wanted a family but he could never have that with dean, i think the ending was depressing as all hell for the characters even though it gave them what they wanted they didnt really win... its so sadd mannnn hold me QnQ

I was kid when I started watching the show. For 2 years I didn’t want to see the final season because I didn’t want it to end. Tonight I finished watching the last season and I can say that this was a proper ending for the two brothers that kept me company for so many years! Farewell legends ! Epic closure !
I feel you on that. I waited a while before I watched the series finale too. I waited at least a year before I watched the last 2 episodes of TVD bc I knew one of the brothers died but I didn't wanna face it.

@@samiteus9070 I dont think you understand the subtext Dean literally couldn't stop hunting that was all he knew and he couldn't decide what else to do after everything was said and done. His death released him from needing to hunt constantly and he could just enjoy the scenery while driving.
no lie I was literally in tears this whole episode. Sam and Dean Winchester, Bobby, Castiel, Jack, Crowley, Rowena and all of the unique characters that made Supernatural last for 15 yrs, you will be missed but never forgotten

Man, I don't care what the so called "5th season" fans say, I thought this ending was pretty good considering all the crap endings so many shows got and having to deal with Covid. The Supernatural ending was like a 15 year friendship finally coming to an end. I could always rely on this show to get me through a bad day or whenever nothing else was on. It was that friend that I always came back to but all good things come to an end. I cried like a bitch when I watched the final episode. I was upset, but I knew it had to happen. Thank you guys for getting me through college, the triumphs, the heart aches, etc to where I am now. I could always count on Sam and Dean!
This show gets me through tax season every year ❤️
See I'm willing to cede certain arguments to both sides of the field 😂 Supernatural 1-5 was prime television, and it absolutely did start to go downhill pretty quickly (especially after Season 11) but regardless of this, they still put out some really good episodes, and this is a fitting end for the boys

@@simrantomar5075 he wanted to stop intervening and making them have to be heroes like Chuck was doing. Chuck was making the world worse just to make Sam and dean entertain him. They no longer were being forced to be heroes, so Jack let them die and be at peace.

According to Jared Sam told his son about all the adventures and battles he and Dean got into over their life. It is one of the reasons Dean Jr. had a tattoo of protection on his arm.

I base my life off this show. Started watching it around season 4. Family, beers, long car rides, the teasing with my siblings. Love you Sam and Dean. The only two characters I know people wish they could play

What I admire from this magnificent TV series are the characters of Sam and Dean, their neverending NEVER GIVING UP attitude, always trying/doing their best to save people, fighting for the greater good and hoping for the best whilst mentally broken(often) and ignoring their own personal dilemma, pain, etc,. Oh and they have *excellent taste in music* also 🙌🥳

Without God’s plot armor, Dean was basically Asa Fox, so I thought that death was pretty fitting (and an unexpected gut-punch)

I think this is the perfect ending for the series, for Dean and Sam. Remember 'Trial and Error'? Dean's happy ending is Sam being able to live his dream life. And Dean died doing what he loved most; saving people, hunting things. The family business.
Dean whent too Heaven and reunion with Bobby and got be bar owner and riding baby on road and Then reunion with Sam in Heaven later

I’m going to miss this show now that it’s over. One of the best shows with a phenomenal cast. Those 2 brothers and their amazing actors will always with us forever. Those 2 actors seriously loved their role and especially loved their fan who supported them all 15 years of their lives.
Literally at this second jusy finished this episode. Started this show beginning this year when had covid so was home a lot, lost my brother late 2020, seeing this brother relationship between them two hit too close to home. Forever grateful I got to see this show and it’s amazing characters and stories.

I think the deepest part for me was at 1:45 where Sam instinctively grabs the passenger side handle because he was always the passenger

Then after he gets into the drivers seat and looks at the passenger side door as if he's waiting for Dean too open it and hop in.

Young adult Dean Junior was phenomemal. He was on the screen for, what, a whole 12 seconds? But the way he looks at his dad... you can just feel how much he loves his dad and how much he is trying to be strong and hold it together in his dad's final moments... 😢❤

This is my favorite show of all time and one I actually stuck with even through its worst. Thank you Jared, Jensen, Misha and the other cast members and the crew for this fantastic and beautiful show for 15 years on TV and it was a real treat meeting you all at cons.
Watched the finale the night it aired with my Dad and brother. We were all huge fans and never missed an episode. My Dad passed away from covid in 2022 and this hits even harder now 🥺

I always said the wonderful thing about the song is when you really thought about it, it was their perfect anthem. They had to fight through it all, and they did, and when they were done, they had finally brought peace and stability to the world. Heaven was waiting for them the whole time. They did it. In the end, they won.

@@ciscodeleon4156 In season 1 episode 12 he should have died to a nobody, in season 1 with the car accident he should have died if not for his dad. After god... everybody is a Z lister, and they had been saying he would die hunting since the beginning. Billy even said he had a lot of endings and one of them was by a vamp in a nest. It is not said how many hunts he goes on since the defeat of god, we are shown that one, because that is the one that finally got him and after beating the biggest of the bigs all hunts will be unimportant, except the one that ends it all.

@@kimberleigh6528 I mean with their last main enemy beaten, it would've been a perfect moment to lock up the bunker once and for all and live normal lives. But I think part of them wanted to keep it up so long as they had each other to look out for them. After everything they went through, as long as they were together, they seemed invincible. Plus it's hard to know if whether or not if they could truly retire from hunting and live out peaceful lives. Or would another tragedy like Ben and Lisa occur?

I started watch this show when I was only 6 and now I am 21 and this is the best show ever ... This show has a big part in my memories and literally I watched the end for a hundred time and never get bored ... I only wish another season cause I really miss it 😢
There is an old saying that goes all Good things must come to an end. This is one of those rare shows that not only lasted a very long time but had excellent story telling all the way to the end. It didn't just canceled leaving fans hanging. It actually got a good solid ending.
I know a lot of fans want them to come back and do a revival but I'm hoping they don't as the way it ended was perfect. There no reason to ruin it by trying to bring it back.
To be honest it's never really over. You can go back and start the whole shoe over again from scratch.
This is one thing I'll always love about this final episode is how well it ilistates what it's like for the little sibling to cary on after losing their older sibling.
I was in tears watching this scene because everything I've felt since losing my own brother (who got my into this show) was so well ilistated in this montage.
This show became a comfort show for me after my brother died when I was almost a freshman in high school. I've watched this show since season 3 and I've loved every second of it.

I still haven't watched the season finale so far. Cuz I couldn't handle with them gone. They are more than just a fiction to me. I started watching it as a kid and I am adult now. They became a part of my life. I accidentaly saw this cut and I couldn't control my tears. The show end, but they will always live in my heart.
its interesting to note that some of the final lyrics of the song actually signify the change in sam and dean's original final fate-
"Now that my life is no longer Empty,
Surely Heaven waits for me."
Remember that Sam and Dean's fate was to go to The Empty after death, rather than hell or heaven. So the lyrics coincidentally follow the same setup as the ending to Supernatural. Ironic, isn't it?

Someone could probably explain it way better than I can but I found out that Bobby waited 2,31 minutes between his death and Dean death, and Dean waited 5,24 between his own death and Sam's death. Bobby waited 7 minutes 55 seconds before eing reunited with his entire family 😭😭

For the folks saying that Dean shouldn’t have died the way he did, it’s a realistic take on them being hunters. They never know which one will be their last, and outside of the planning they do for a hunt there’s not much else they can control. Death isn’t always all fancy and grandiose. And I think that makes it all the more poignant for Dean’s death to be without a lot of fanfare - it’s the beginning of the peace and quiet he’s wanted for years.
It was how Dean said he’d wanted to go. And it was a realistic end especially for him. I wasn’t expecting it and beyond ugly cried most of that final episode.
I also want to add, that since god was dead, the boys didn’t have any more plot armor. They were the main characters of chucks story so he wouldn’t allow them to die, once he was dead, their plot armor wore off and they were back to regular humans, able to die at any moment.

I actually like the character Sam Winchester. He always looks like the little brother needed to be taken care of. But actually he is the strongest one to have to move on alone. He bears all the groovy to live until the normal ending to see his big brother again.

The way Sam and Dean both take their final breaths the same way, 1 last deep breath and 1 tear rolling down the face while holding the hand of the person you loved the most, makes me cry every time

I don't care what anyone says. This was such a beautiful ending to an absolutely amazing show. Thank you Supernatural for 15 memorable years. It was one hell of a good ride. Thank you for letting all of us fans take the trip with you:)

Their deaths made perfect sense. With Dean being so reckless and bloodthirsty, it made sense that he would be the one to die young on the job. Sam dying an old man made perfect sense too.
I love Supernatural and cried when I watched this episode! I never thought Dean would die by getting nailed. I'm happy that Sam moved on and became the dad he never had.

I've watched every single episode about 100 times each but I only watched the last ep. just once. I cried like hell. Beautiful ending but I couldn't stop crying😭
Imagine how protected Sam’s kid must’ve and ought to have been. Son of the greatest living hunter on Earth, younger adoptive brother of the new ruler of the universe, and not to mention he’s the son of the queen of hell’s favorite
I feel so bad for Sam though because even though he’s moving on he has so much to move on from.
He’s lost literally EVERYONE and he’s all alone with the years of memories with his brother and friends and family and all the season of adventure we saw. He has all those memories and nobody in them is alive anymore so the past must be so difficult to remember at any given moment.
Then when he sits in that car, that car he was in so many times with Dean and Castiel and Jack and his mom...that’s such unbearable pain I can’t even imagine

This episode killed me i feel too empty
when dean sat in the car and carry on started i was like, "ooo come on" and started to cry
Sam having a kid, a wife, and getting to grow old is wonderful. I would've wanted the same for Dean but didn't he basically have that already? He had Jack and Cas. He got the experience. But still this episode made me cry so hard that my mom and sister had to barge into my room to see if I was okay.
Dean going for his drive then seeing the finale of the winchesters makes me enjoy this clip more knowing that alot more went on then just sam living life and meeting dean after death.
