- Well well well, how the turntables right?! I feel like I’m playing right into their hands and I’m not even mad about it nsnsnsn I violently f*ck with this! To me, everything about this is so much more attainable, so much easier, so much better and it’s a step up for sure. Perhaps O.O prepared me into expecting a pattern that is somewhat unusual and so that night be why this first listening went so much smoother BUT I also think that the transitions here are a lot more soft and they kinda ease us into the change of style; it’s not brutal and they’re always cultivating the length of a “silence” in the song to prepare us for the drastic change and I’m so glad they did it that way. The marching band (?) instrumental makes this song super catchy and entertaining, it just makes you want to stand up and go to a festival!
I like how the image of the dice and advancing on a board is used to showcase their different sides and genres and I have to say they nailed them all. Though I have to admit that the rap parts were gold, just too good! I swear GG rapping duo aren’t paying this year and I am here for it!
This MV really gave TWICE “Yes or yes” meets “Zimzalabim” meets Alice in wonderland meets 4th gen and BOOM, this is what we got. Very whimsical, vibrant, saturated, magical, theatrical and all that really set the tone for what was to come.
I can’t say how much of it is original but I believe that the way they are taking that song and making it theirs is what is so unique if that makes sense. Honestly if this is the route they’re gonna take in the future I am 100% on board with it! This was a great song and a strong comeback!

I think the song dice represents them and their concept. Dice are unpredictable, you play the game without knowing what's to come. Just like the lyrics NMIXX are unpredictable but they're assuring us to not worry and just come on board.

"Surfing over that sky" you don't surf at the sky but they do things that we don't imagine
"Flying through the ocean" don't let them know your next move, that's what makes them unique. full of surprises like a dice
"Big wave big wave, don't run away" usually when people see big wave they try to run away but NMIXX is saying that we shouldn't run and face it. Use the waves and ride it, just like what they did on O.O. It received a lot of backlash and negative comments but instead of running away from it, they ride it and used it to come back stronger.

O.O grew on me so much. DICE didn’t hit as hard to me but it definitely felt less extreme as O.O. i love lily’s high notes, always so impressive and the final dance break is 🔥

People says O.O flop but their choreography already hit.
I mean I guess it is true every single time I see a random dance play, every dancer dances O.O.
I prefer DICE to O.O a hundred times more, but the choreo is not as good as O.O's. Although there are some very very good parts like the chorus and dance break (I absolutely love the choreo there), but the rest is kind of "simple" :(
@callmehiwatt Tank's choreo is the best one in my opinion. Its "machine-like" moves are so unique. And the choreo for the three chorus changes each time. I learnt it and it was such a cool challenge!
I have no idea who made those choreographies though...
Oh and by the way, I love O.O and Tank (music wise). My previous comment sounds like I don't like O.O but I do. It just took more time for me to truly enjoy it.
As someone who hated O.Os Intro with all my heart. Dice is everything that O.O was trying to be. Smooth transitions, No unecessary beat changes, Smooth flow between sections. It's beautiful. I had hopes in hell but i'm surprised. Nmixx slayed

Personally, Dice was much easier to follow for me in terms of first listen. I had to listen to O.O a couple times to really enjoy it but they’re both good songs!

I love nmixx, their vocals and dancing skill are insane! I really liked dice, excited for the next comeback

Dice is definitely smoother but certain part after the change up is messier than O.O in my opinion. also, liking the fact that jype didn't deter their mixxpop identity after O.O and instead give a more versatile EP. for now, im liking Cool more- just like Tank. hope that nmixx will release a title track that i love

first listen I was addicted, honestly had no idea what to expect cause O.O grew on me after a while, but the chorus of DICE is absolute fire and I loved the vocals so much I can’t, definitely looping this song
What I love about NMIXX is that (at least so far) their concepts aren't "girl group" or even "boy group" ones. What they're doing, like you mentioned, is relatively uncharted territory. Like, yes they're a girl group, but Dice isn't your typical "girl group" song if that makes sense? Anyway, I loved this song and the bside as well!
i think it would be amazing if the categories " boy groups concepts" and "girl group concepts" were broken because if it happens one day, groups would no longer be stuck in these "gender" concepts cases and could developp their personality more.
What I love about NMIXX mixx pop is that it is not boring to listen and less repetition.
Their songs might not be everyone's taste but they are a performance group. Their songs was meant for performance wherein it is better to listen to the song while watching them performing it.

@@sarahlehuec2292 Yes! Like, everyone does the same concepts anyway; we just call them different names based on the group's gender ("cute" vs "bright" for example.) I love that groups like NMIXX (and there are probably others I can't think of rn, sorry!) are pushing the bounds.
My probably controversial hot-take about NMIXX is that if they were a boy group doing the exact same sound/songs, they would be getting less hate and less "wasted potential" comments from random places online.
I also love that they are not so obsessed with being pretty or skinny or sexy girls. They are naturally beautiful by their talent and aura, and confident to show who they are. Makeups, outfits... are just to express their messages, not to show body curves, not to be "sexually appealing" to men. Hope you get what I mean.
O.O debut was shocking to me as well, but gurrlll 'Dice' is fire. I can't describe how many times I repeated Kyujin, Jinni, Haewon's dance parts because for real, it's that good. And Lily's vocals? *chef's kiss*.
This group is undeniably full-packed with skills. I mean if they debuted like a regular group having regular music?? Imagine the heights of their talent, they would eat up a survival show or a competition. They are already skillful in dance portion more than the average skill of all idols in general, they even are vocally talented. There is no vocal hole at all in the group who was just added for popularity. Visuals? not even a question. They're visually appealing. Even without that category, they'd slay every aspect of an idol's requirements.

This is not experimental, this is mixpop, a genre where nmixx is the best because their talent is on the next level.
Dice litterly has everything a good song needs,we call them slaymixx for a reason. The only problem i have with it is the screentime and the line distribution.

i really really love nmixx and i want people to give them a chance. you can watch their 'qualifying' on their own yt channel to get to know them more when it comes to their talent and skills. o.o may not be so good or not good at all because of the lyrics and how it is done but i find it super catchy. the members are so talented especially when they covered seventeen's song and straykids'

Actual song is a little under 3:00 minutes and I wanted more.
I think if most people understood from before the debut that this was going to be a group with the concept of multiple changeups during their songs, they would have been at least prepared.
Somebody not knowing anything about NMIXX would click on O.O and would say, “What the heck are they doing?” and immediately get turned off because it’s not anything like they’re used to.
Once you know and expect that the changeups are going to be there, the experience is better.
All of that said, they are my enigma group. Because every song requires a 2nd listen. It bothers me that I don’t love a song right off the bat. I will love most parts but only like some parts. Other KPop groups I just know on first listen that yeah, this song slaps.
Lastly, I believe JYP decided to go with the “Mix(x)-pop” concept so that these girls would stand out in the world of KPop. But in my honest opinion, these girls are so talented that I think they would stand out even if their songs conformed to traditional KPop norms.
The whole mixx-pop thing just guarantees they stand out.

Hi! Thank you for keeping an opening mind. I ended up liking O.O. mainly due to NMIXX’s vocals, dancing skills energy/stage presence when performing O.O. I think Dice might be a little bit better to process/to digest compared to O.O.

The argument over mixed reactions towards O.O is so funny because it’s not even that deep, people disliked the song because whoever was in charge of production didn’t think about how it would sound without a video to go along with it, its just random switch ups thrown at you that wouldn’t be received well as a song and not a music video. Dice actually transitions fluidly. It was never the concept that was the problem, it was the execution of said concept. This is excluding all the plagiarism mess jyp pulled with the mv too. Overall jyp shouldv’e done better and I’m much happier with dice.
