Safety chains go under the swivel plate.

With the frame of the trailer being aluminum, you should buy some tape to prevent galling/corrosion where the brackets mount to the frame because of the different metal types.

@@derekmarquardt8250 i actually asked the manufacturer this very question. They stated that they do not recommend using an insulating tape on the frame as it may cause slippage of the clamping mechanism. Further they stated they'd had no issues with this approach having sold this to many customers who had aluminum framed trailers. I had actually purchased a role of 3m 10mil 2-inch wide tape outdoor tape for just this purpose, but didn't use it based upon their advice.

@@derekmarquardt8250 here's their direct quote "I apologize for the delay, I was clearing it with the production team and wanting to verify. We do not recommend using any sort of insulating tape between the bracket and the frame as it could cause the bracket to slip.
The brackets themselves are powder coated, and the bolts are zinc plated so that should prevent the corrosion between the two metals. To further avoid the corrosion you are able to remove the brackets after every season. We have not seen any issues as of yet with the weight distribution being installed on aluminum frames."

I seen steel trailers break there after many many miles. Aluminum maybe sooner.

It may not be clear to see, but inTech welds a what appears to be about a quarter inch plate to both vertical sides each frame member for a weight distribution hitch attachment. In essence, at the point of attachment, the frame is half an inch thick on either side. I think we'll be OK for the amount of usage this trailer will get.
