Its a 4x4, need to drop it. The Ford sprIngs don't slam the car, its tasteful. You taught her well. My son loves rhe 94-95 SN95's. I have Procharged 2020GT so we are a Mustang family too.

Wow talk about a super clean cherry of a find! Lucky girl. My first stang was a black with grey interior T-top 87 LX hatch (5 spd of course) with about 30k miles on it… I was 16 and also paid for it on my own, but that was about 30 years ago!! It was born stock except for 16” pony wheels but I quickly nodded the heck out of it. I say keep the cobra reps and lower it for sure!

Hey man good on ya my first car was a 1985 gt with t tops. Ive had many foxbodies over the years and I'm rocking a Vanilla Ice spec 89 convertible now and they have always been dead reliable even the questionable ones that I've bought.

stock ride height is sweet on the fox's .... personally, i dont like scrapping the k member on every road around town...lol....i would make it more reliable with a carb swap ..but that's just me man ...carb over efi because i can make a carbed car run if it breaks down on the side of the road ....efi, especially speed density sucks when sensors go out on the side of the road. but WOW!!!! that's a gem man ....stock and looks that good ......such a amazing fox!!!!! deserves to be a museum piece ....lol.... the untouched stock cars like that are so awesome to me .... thanks for showing it off!!

In 2023 not many can say there first car was a foxbody. In 2006 when I was in high-school alot of people had fox's as first cars. Definitely a clean 4 eye
That's cool, they were all too expensive when I was a teenager, but 2006 sounds about right for when they were cheap but still decent shape
It’s expensive being a dad when your both into the same cars. I can’t even tell you how many parts I have bought for my kids car. He’s now almost 28 years old. Stock height

I vote No on lower. I like the rear height slightly higher than the front. Beautiful first car. Brings back memories to my high school days. I had one then.

Such a low mileage car I would do mods that you can always go back to stock with. Keep all the factory parts of course .

Also fix that bypass, it is kinked and will cause heating issue if driven like that for more than 30-40 miles at a time.

I remember now that you were taking a little break. This time I don't have to play GearHead704 catch up. LOL. Matt, your daughter is absolutely beautiful, and she has received such an awesome car. I would have loved to have this exact car in '86, but I'd love to have it now. Our sweet daughter is turning 19 in August. She will be a sophomore in college. My daughter was gifted my wife's former car. No where near as cool as a four eyed 5.0, but an '08 Pontiac G6 GT sedan. I was able to facilitate this because two years ago this past Memorial Day I flew into DFW airport and took an uber into Arlington, Texas to drive back an '09 Pontiac G8 GT with only 47K original miles. When my wife and I got the G6 we test drove a G8 and always wanted one. Also your daughter's car has less than 54K, but my daugher's has 130K now. It is so awesome to see our kids drive and enjoy and appreciate what we are able to do for them. My daily is a minty '05 Acura RSX Type-S. Initially a good friend of mine had an '06 Type-S with lower miles. Thing is, all Type-S are 6 speed. I was going to get that for my daughter, but she did not want to learn stick. Sorry for the ramble. After all it has been 4 months since we talked. You are teaching your daughter a great lesson for letting her help pay for it. Nothing wrong with that. Missed you buddy. In case you couldn't tell. Also, how tall is your daughter? Tiffany is no shorty either, and I remember your kids are tall.

I bought my first and only 1984 GT fox in 1987, when I was 19 and you know one of the first questions I get asked when I see an old friend that I haven't seen is "do you still have that awesome mustang you had WAY back in the day and I am blessed to say "I sure do". I took a loan out to buy the car and I was still short $250 and had to meet up with the seller a couple weeks later to pay him back. It was the first car my son, Jake drove after getting his learner's permit and he bucked it in first gear up the road. He loved Fords and always told his younger sister he was getting the Mustang. We lost Jake in a car accident in 2011 and the car is a tribute to Jake. It just so happens to be a black T-Top car. Your daughter will be able to enjoy the car with you and that is a wonderful gift. Beautiful car! I had an 86 GT with T tops the exact same colors but in manual. It's awesome that your daughter is into foxes. My youngest daughter is the same age and I have her driving my 08 P71 which is a retired city of Miami car. She keeps asking to drive my 88 GT convertible and I haven't yet. She's starting to express wanting a Mustang , Not necessarily a fox body . I applaud your daughter's work ethic and wish her good luck and much happiness with the car. I see she already knows these cars keep us under the hood and hopefully she will want to learn how to wrench on it. It would be great to see her at Fox Resto while the car is getting worked on and she can get her hands dirty. I know its great when my daughter is out in the garage with me , It's time that I cherish.
