People people, you can fit a 35mm PRX silicone strap to the Edifice EFR-S108D. You just have to replace the springbars to 16mm ones. You can now play with dial and strap colors, and the fit is surprisingly good
@@ailestriker9888 dude I've tried several different things with this Edifice, from custom cut straps to Skmei PRX bracelets and I believe this mod is the one. The taper from the case to the strap reminds me of the taper in the CW The Twelve (of course from a distance)
I got my EFR-S108D a custom veg tan leather from a local leather crafter with a drawing I made using Fusion 360. God knows how hard it is to take the measurements and I am crossing fingers when it arrived. Fortunately it fits perfectly. I'll buy PRX silicone strap thanks to you so that I have an extra strap that I can swap.
I got the EFB-108D (silver dial) in December 0f 2022. I love that watch. It is one of my main go to watches when I need a watch to go under a cuff. It has great build quality and my seconds hand hits all of the marks. Casios are just great value.
The silver dial one is definitely the better choice in my opinion, looks way classier and brushed silver will always look better than brushed black. Would like to try modding one with a set of new hour and minute hands however, as the stock ones aren't exactly my preference.
I love my EFB, I have the silver/white version (far more silver than it looks in official product photos). The bracelet is fantastic for both comfort and catching light, the brushing is very good for a watch that cost $90 USD, saphhire is nice, and I don't mind the size. I get it if someone likes the EFR (I don't love the screws and octagon), but if they made some more EFB colorways, I'd strongly consider one.
Damn you Ben, I bought the EFR-S108D-3AVUEF after watching the video. Stock images really don't seem to do anything for it but your macro shots got me to pull the trigger. Thanks for the great review.
I have the chronograph version of the EFB. (EFB-700D) Brilliant watch for the money, looks great on my medium size wrist(18cm). Although my wrists are wide and flat so I can get away with larger watches.
CASIO EDIFICE EFV 100D-2A I have it since two years ago and I'm loving it. Minus 12 sec per year, screw down crown and caseback, only mineral glass but finish is so nice. Strap monster, 40 mil., always hitting the markers. For 80 euros, I'm happy. Been with me in a hot tub, no problem.
So this is interesting, a couple of years ago after watching a review of the Casio EFR model (I think it was probably a review by you if your original review occurred about 1-2 years ago?), I tried buying one on Amazon in the USA and some other stateside sites but all I could find for sale were the EFB models so ended up buying the one with the black dial you reviewed plus a silver/white dial one. I paid if I recall, 50-70 USD and just love them. So, I wonder if Casio only sold the EFB in the States originally and the EFR only in the European market. Same for the new Green dial one, NOT available at any USA vendors.
I was kind of expecting the EFR-S108D-2BV Tiffany dial to end up being a hype watch like other Casio Tiffany dial homages (Casio date just and Casio PRX). Its not why I bought mine as I love it, but still a little disappointing it wasn't a bigger hit.
Those Casios look awfully close to a Spaghetti Scametti iCon...they may want to ask Casio for royalties on the design. You know what both of those Casios really could use.....tough solar. Then they'd be truly brilliant.
I'm fairly confident that people will flock to the EFB for the improvements and that Casio will recognize the success and release more colorways to match. The only question is whether you're willing to wait for that to happen
Since you own both models, can you tell if the bracelets are interchangable. A lot off the people are trying to find an alternative bracelet for the smaller model, and I saw that both of the watches have 12 mm lug widht. Can you please provide this info.
I have the black EFR-S108. Bought it because of the case design with the octagonal bezel but I never liked the hand set. The new green dial version looks fantastic and they have replaced the hand set. Have to buy it! The burgundy red color of the Orient Kamasu 1st gen would also be be a fantastic color version for the EFR. The EFB is totally redundant in my opinion.
I’ve had this watch for over a year instead of buying a stainless steel kit for my GA2100 I bought this watch and they roughly have the same face size while being thinner than the Gshock
@@beebeebooboo5792 16cm. With the exception of g-shock, my preference is to stay within 38mm. Even with larger watches that have shorter lug-to-lug, they are still going to look too big on the wrist in my opinion
@@beebeebooboo5792 sorry I thought I’d replied but somehow it’s not showing up. My wrist size is about 16cm. Although from lug to lug I might be able to wear something up to 47mm, a big watch with a short lug to lug is still going to look too big on my wrist.
Thanks as always for the insightful review Ben. I have recently bought a Blue dial EFR and absolutely love it. Except for............ the completely shitty bracelet. I had to adapt a rubber strap rather than look at the OG bracelet. And then I saw the "PRX" style bracelet on the EFB. First thing I wondered was whether it would fit the EFR? And then the abject anger as to why Casio didn't put this strap on the EFR in the first place. So infuriating. Come on Casio. You could have had a watch to rival the Tissot quartz PRX!
A fun and informative video review as always Ben (Thank you). I am seriously considering this watch as I'm extremely lazy and seeking a simply stylish wrist watch with ultimate convenience. I've also seen your video on the Casio radio controlled/solar powered Lineage models and they seem even more appealing to my needs. I would love your honest and candid opinion on this issue... what is your idea of the very best no fuss Quartz watch from Casio or a competitive brand?! Cheers, LG
I love my EFR but the end links no longer stay put so look a bit odd, and I never understood the choice of gold for the seconds hand. Agree that the denim and green look very good. However, RRP seems steep. I think I paid £70 for mine although can't recall where. Guess Casio is trying to be a step above the usual AliExpress parvenus. Will wait for the inevitable v3 TinSkin version and bask in the glory.
Should have used the Miyota 2115, prefer that movement over Epson Seiko’s affordable movements like the cheap PC32. Overall the quality looks good, the polished case looks awesome. I’m after a Casio Oceanus S100, but I want a Tiffany Blue Edifice with sapphire glass as well for a work watch so EFR for me.
I also like the efr more than the efb but at the time of writing this (Black Friday 2024), the latter was going for 83 fucking dollars while the efr was 150. Being a student, I just couldn't justify paying almost the double for what would ultimately be a very similar watch. It hasn't arrived yet, but I am also somewhat worried that the efb will be a little too big for my wrist while the efr would have been perfecto. Regardless, it's an excellent deal for just 80 bucks!
Yeah, they use them frequently these days. In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw a Casio movement - it's just that most reviewers never check inside
I normally like your reviews, but why are these bulges excluded in measurements, when they are clearly part of the case, and you cannot just discard them? The bulges on both sides really need to be included, because that is the total width that can get in the way of comfort! Unlike most people, who wear watches on their forearm (which includes you), I actually really wear my watch ON the wrist joint, because that way it stays put and faces me, instead of flopping around. I never have to fiddle it into place to read it, and that makes using it more subtle! Thing is, wearing a watch above my thumb in that wrist joint cavity, makes any spikey protrusion (hate many Casios, especially big G-Shocks and also retuned a comparatively compact AQS800) and bulges uncomfortable, because they hit my hand when I move it. Something the size and smoothness of a 40mm Invicta Pro Diver is perfect, but those edgy thingies on that Casio already tell me I do not want it!
No need of these subsecond markers of the chaptering. It is a quartz that ticks 1 s at a time. Don't particularly like this PRXish integrated bracelet trend.
I find the EFB-108D supremely boring. The design is a classic case of "safe as milk". The EFR-S108D is much more angular and exciting and loaded with different levels of finishing.
Yeah unfortunately UA-cam ad rates are a fraction of what they were 5-10 years ago, so anyone wanting to put significant time into it has to pretty much use sponsors now to stay afloat, which sucks. That said, at least video quality is also way higher these days

Casio builds a blanket of watches some hits some misses but always good value for the money
I dislike watches with screws on the bezel I usually end up getting my screwdriver out as the curiosity gets the better of me.
