Dope video...good look...I think too much, folk (including myself)?focus too hard on getting chips to be perfect all the time..this gives you more freedom and allows for more creativity
thanks. Using the drums to be able to play the sample always helps and it has been one of the methods I use when I have the sample already cut but I have no idea how to start or play
Starting with music first requires a very good ear. Starting with drums is a bit easier because you already have a rhythm. I start with music first because my ear is trained to hear music before anything.
Bro thanks for this! This gives me a lil more new found confidence with finally getting some chops to match previously made beats I have on deck. I'd get quickly discouraged when even one slice of whatever I sampled didn't make sense or line up perfectly with my beat. After watching this video I realized I've been overthinking the entire process. I also never considering messing with attack and decay under the filter tab regarding slices and getting them to make more sense with my projects tempo. Thanks a ton! You'll be at 100k subscribers in no time if you keep dropping this content!
Glad to help out. 🙏🏾 I make these type of videos to show you what you will learn on the live video help sessions. If you are a beginner and want more I would definitely look into that. Link is always in the video description.
I have checked out a couple of your videos on UA-cam and you always seem to put out videos that really show and demonstrate how to do whatever the subject matter is in depth 🎶
Glad to help. I've done a few a while back that touch on that but not specifically. This is addressed in my live help sessions because different producers make different music. Different music requires different arrangement. The link is always in the video description if you want help on arranging your specific music.
This helps so much. For a beginner would you recommend doing the drums first and adding the pieces of sample around the drums or do the samples first and then do the drums around the sample?
Glad to help out. 🙏🏾 As said in the video if you are a beginner and you are trying to get familiar with this concept following a drum pattern will help. If you are a bit advanced than music is always a great starting point. If you find it hard to deal with music first then that will tell you what level you are on.
I hate to be such a newbie but would you be able to do a video showing whats the difference between the programs, projects, sequence, etc and the best workflow for those. I cant seem to blend my samples and my drums. It seems as if I need two separate program lines. But then I cant get them together. I am getting it all mixed up. Then when I go to export and render the mp3 / wav file has no sound. I think I am doing something wrong with the programs.
As the video mentions you are welcome to book your own live help session. These sessions are designed specifically for these types of questions. Newbie or advanced. Link is in the video description for all information. 👍🏾 UA-cam is nice. But your own specific help is much better.
Help needed, quick one though. I have audio coming into my ONE as seen by the meters but no audio seems to be leaving the main outs. How can I monitor what I'm receiving via the main outs? Thanks to anyone in advance.
Extracting just gives you the piece you want to work with, while keeping the original intact for future use. If you discard any piece, you are essentially deleting it and won’t be able to work with those discarded pieces if you need them later.
Thank you for making yourself available for personal sessions, I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from your technique. TheRealDannySmith'

THANKS BRO.. DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO ON ARRANGING BEATS ?
Glad to help. I've done a few a while back that touch on that but not specifically. This is addressed in my live help sessions because different producers make different music. Different music requires different arrangement. The link is always in the video description if you want help on arranging your specific music.
After you slice the sample
How do you get it to play over the pads
Create a program with your chops. Then add the program to a track.
@@DaDrankKang much appreciation
Do you have a video about it just out of curiosity
also select all in program edit and tune the chops up or down to match the tempo instead of time stretching
This works better if your sample is chopped perfectly. It can be off if you free hand chop.
This helps so much. For a beginner would you recommend doing the drums first and adding the pieces of sample around the drums or do the samples first and then do the drums around the sample?

Help needed, quick one though. I have audio coming into my ONE as seen by the meters but no audio seems to be leaving the main outs. How can I monitor what I'm receiving via the main outs? Thanks to anyone in advance.
Yo good info, whats the difference between extracting the sample area you want to chop vs discarding the ends of the sample?
Extracting just gives you the piece you want to work with, while keeping the original intact for future use. If you discard any piece, you are essentially deleting it and won’t be able to work with those discarded pieces if you need them later.
Extract creates a new sample. Discarding deletes unselected pieces.
Thank you for making yourself available for personal sessions, I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from your technique. TheRealDannySmith'
Very welcome. You guys requested that so its only right to give back. 🙏🏾
When you say your making sure you are on pad 9, I thought that position would be pad 5? Or do you have your pads numbered from top to bottom ?c
Learning how to finger drum the pads are opposite. I've gotten use to that.
@@DaDrankKang thanks. And liking the content 👌

you'd think sampling would be fairly straight forward.....I define how to sample like shit. its unreal.
