I don’t think it’s the MOST terrible decision I’ve seen. Holyfield- Lewis 1 comes to mind and Whitaker- Chavez were worse in my view. I thought Mercer got lucky to win though. He may have pulled it out in the last two rounds
Ferguson didn’t take the dive in their first fight, but then he froze against Bowe! Can’t blame Jesse for not diving to Mercer, but he then had a responsibility to show up in tip top condition against Bowe and he froze up.
If Mercer wanted to win so badly that he was begging Jesse to take a dive, then why wasn't Ray fighting with any kind of urgency or bad intentions? I agree with what someone else posted on a vid of this fight: it's more likely that Riddick Bowe's camp paid *Mercer* to take the loss. That's the only thing that makes sense with the fact that Mercer is not fighting aggressively at all.
That Taekwondo guy who made that comment doesn't like Bowe and has spammed that comment with others quite a bit. Mercer admitted to ducking Moorer for Holmes because he didn't want to lose his title to a south paw. Nobody's fault but his own. Plus had worse training habits than Bowe did. There's a video on YT of Eddie Futch saying they're training for Mercer. Mean while Mercer was ill prepared for Ferguson. Simply could be the fact that this is all Mercers fault that makes just as more sense.
Ray did a lot better in this fight, I have to say. The first one was like he didn't even show up, as opposed to here where he did enough to get his confidence back. Good slugfest.
Ferguson did the right thing by not taking the alleged $100,000 bribe. He got $500,000 for the Bowe fight.
Mercer fought better when his hair was higher

Nope, Ray Mercer was a weird fighter. He'd probably beat that prime version but this washed up version of Ferguson gives him a hard fight

Definitely..prime Ferguson was tough..Mike had enough Gladiator to beat him...but Mercer ..nope. 2 fights and Mercer couldn't beat Jesse.

LMAO Ray Mercer struggled with Jesse...lost both fights IMO..mike on the other hand...beat Ferguson up so bad he had to hold until the DQ'd him.
