Waleed al mugheerah if I ain't wrong.
He provided possibilities of how the Quran can be that good both in literary and eloquence level.
He said that Muhammad PBUH was a poet. Then he took it back saying the Quran isn't just a common poetry since it has sweetness and great impact in it. Then he said Muhammad PBUH got it from a jinn. But again, he took it back saying the Quran isn't a word of either a Jinn or Human.
At last he said Muhammad PBUH produced the Qur'an by sorcery (Astagfirullah).

“The fact that the Meccan leadership had to resort to extreme campaigns, such as warfare and torture, to attempt to extinguish Islam demonstrates that the easy method of refuting Islam-meeting the Qur’anic challenge-failed”. Hamza Tzortis
Many of the first Meccan surahs the Arabs heard were barely half a dozen lines. The shortest is al-Kawthar at just three lines. So the Arabs couldn't even manage three lines like it xD

Not to mention the Surah Al Masad where Abi Lahab is doomed to Hell, how many years did he live since the? 9-10.
So a whole group of people could not simply make a plot that they would accept Islam and refute the religion there? They never did and Allah knew they would never do so.
So the statements of the Quran are only befitting to the One that knows the past, present, future, what might happen and what WILL happen.
Not to mention the secrets of Ancient Egypt being in the Quran, amazing.

Actually the Arabs did meet and accepted Muhammad's Quran challenge. Ibn Kathir narrates that one of them was An-Nadir bin Harith who accused Muhammad of plagiarism and would narrate tales proclaiming that his words were better than the Quran. Alas, he was beheaded on the orders of Muhammad for his defiance
"It was said that An-Nadr bin Al-Harith, may Allah curse him, was the one who said this, according to Sa`id bin Jubayr, As-Suddi, Ibn Jurayj and others. An-Nadr visited Persia and learned the stories of some Persian kings, such as Rustum and Isphandiyar. When he went back to Makkah, He found that the Prophet was sent from Allah and reciting the Qur'an to the people. Whenever the Prophet would leave an audience in which An-Nadr was sitting, An-Nadr began narrating to them the stories that he learned in Persia, proclaiming afterwards, "Who, by Allah, has better tales to narrate, I or Muhammad'' When Allah allowed the Muslims to capture An-Nadr in Badr, the Messenger of Allah commanded that his head be cut off before him, and that was done, all thanks are due to Allah."

two of the MANY miracles of the Quraan:
      1. Sky - A Protective Covering
Scientists did not know that the sky was a protected ceiling until the 20th century.
Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) says in the Quran, “And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.” [21: 32]
The sky is not only beautiful to look at, but it also plays an important role in our survival. The Sun radiates energy in different wavelengths - the shorter the wavelength, the greater the potential harm. Some of this energy, however, is required for crucial functions such as photosynthesis in the plants and production of Vitamin D in human beings.
Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) designed a mechanism that ensures only harmless rays reached the Earth. This mechanism is what we know as the ‘ozone layer’. The scientists discovered this layer in the year 1913.
That is not all. The atmosphere around us maintains a certain temperature suitable for our living. In absence of this, the temperature would drop down to -270°C and we would freeze to death.
The sky is our protective covering which prevents the celestial bodies from falling on us. Imagine if there was no sky and the stars and the sun were not commanded by Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) to stay at their places, what would have happened? Things would have been falling over our heads and everyday life would have become problematic.
      2. Mountains - Holding Down the Earth
Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) says, “And we placed within the Earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them…” [21:31]
The Earth that we live on is in a constant state of motion. We do not feel it because Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) placed gigantic mountains to hold it down. This fact was unknown until the geologists discovered that mountains have roots deep under the surface of the ground. These roots clench different plates of the Earth like a peg or an anchor to control and prevent it from shaking.
The miracles of the Quran teach us to appreciate the artistry of Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) and acknowledge the things that He has done for us to make our survival possible.
Imagine if there were no mountains, how we would have walked on this Earth when it was constantly shaking? Ask the people who have lived through tremors or aftershocks after an earthquake. There is a constant fear.

Masha’Allah, Tabarak'Allah, well done brothers. been looking for material/content like this. We need more In-sha'Allah.
Something that Muhammed Ali @themuslimlantern said on one of his videos (paraphrasing) :
Imagine today, I told you, in English, come with new way of speaking using new grammatical constructs, that is more eloquent that what is used, using new words that could be understood but no one used and using old words in a new way that no one used. The new way will be mind blowing, to the point it cannot be crticised or compared, but people call you a mad man because they cannot explain how you produced it. This would be a miracle.
This is why there is challenge in the Qur'an to create something like it - just a few lines. It is not something that just sounds like it. It's the deep meaning, structure, rulings, easy to memorise, cover all dialects and alot more.
The Qur'an created it own genre and today it is the highest level and the gold standard of grammer, eloquence in Arabic language.

I would Love to see more series on this topic because this is really a topic that has not been covered enough on UA-cam. For example, how the revelation process is proof for the prophethood, how prophet Mohammed (Saw) received the revelation, in what way and how it affected him and the People around him in the same instance he received them, how the verses where built up through time to complete verses, but were often not revealed in chronological order, its like writing a Book and start with line 5 in chapter 6, then write line 4 to 14 in chapter 2, etc etc, until the whole Quran was revealed. Without pen, papper and eraser, without auto correct. There is so much more that i find truly fascinating and would love to see it covered.

If Islam is not just for Arabs and is truly universal, why would the Islamic god make the Quran's eloquence the most significant miracle, when you yourself admit that to appreciate or realize this eloquence as a supposed miracle, you need to know Arabic and not only that but be trained in later Muslims' conception of Balagha. Most non-Muslims are not Arabophone and do not study balagha so how would they be moved by this "miracle" and be persuaded to convert?
You're speculating about the reason why there is no extant pagan response to the Quran when you present "inability to make something like it" as the sole reason.
If one speculates without bias, one can come up with another reason: That the Quraysh didn't find the Quran worth replying to.
Another possibility is that they did reply but that (oral) poetry was forgotten or censored by Muslims once they took over Mecca. Muslims would have motovation to suppress any pagan responses to the Quran's challenge because the responses would be seen as blasphemous and erasing those challenges makes the Quran's challenge seem unmet. Perhaps the responses were judged to be not up to the mark by biased Muslims thus not recorded as responses to the Quran's challenge.
Your argument against this "conspiracy" is that Muslims recorded other embarassing things about Muhammad. But those other embrassing things aren't taught by the Quran to be impossible whereas the inimitability of the Quran is.
Criterion of embarassment can be faked by people to make their religious claims look more authentic. Christians use the criterion of embarassment to prove the divinity of Jesus.
One of your arguments hinges on the premise that Hasan b. Thabit was the "best" poet, yet you quote an incident where a great poet did not find him to better than a rival.
You say Muhammad was unlettered yet he was a merchant before Islam so he must have known how to read & write. And he undoubtedly knew how to read and write in his later years as he asked for pen & paper to write for himself on his deathbed, as per the hadith of the pen & paper. Besides if we accept that he was unlettered, you acknowledge that the Quran was oral in the initial years and Arabs heard poetry being recited frequently so why would Muhammad's alleged illiteracy rule out the idea of him composing the Quran after gaining an idea of good poetry in the 40 years of his "pre-prophetic" life?
You say Aisha claimed Muhammad hated poetry and poetic gatherings yet we know from hadith that he encouraged the Sahaba to recite poetry against the Jews during (iirc) the Siege of Khaybar.
You are also showing confirmation bias by highlighting testimonies of poets who were impressed by the Quran and converted to Islam but you omit to mention that there were poets who were not impressed by the Quran and did not convert until death or until their tribes were defeated militarily by Muslims. Why wasn't this eloquence moving enough to convert the people of Mecca who whistled, clapped and cursed during Quranic recitation? The Islamic god Allah didn't want them to convert?

If a person writes something he believes to be on par with the Quran, who judges if the Quran's challenge of producing something like it has been met? Muslims? If that's the case Muslims will never judge any text to be as good as the Quran because that would mean disproving their own holy book that they are emotionally dependant upon.

It is bizarre that you mention Sati as an example of the British colonialists not being able to change Indian culture because a relatively frequent practice like Sati is frequent no more, it has been eradicated due to the laws made by & pressure put on by the British. You've proven that a small group of people in power can change the culture of a large society by the example of Sati.
You're mentioning how Islam can change culture by reducing materialism yet you acknowledge that Muslim-majority states that follow Islamic law in personal matters like Pakistan & Bangladesh are still materialistic. These areas used to be ruled in the past by Muslim rulers who enacted Islamic law and the materialism was not eradicated, it still persists. This is not an example of Islam working.

    • @alexjones6653
      @alexjones6653 3 роки тому +6

Consider the general consensus that Shakespeare is thought to be unparalleled with regards to the use of the English language. However, his work is not considered inimitable. His sonnets are written predominantly in a frequently used meter called the iambic pentameter, a rhyme scheme in which each sonnet line consists of ten syllables. The syllables are divided into five pairs called iambs or iambic feet.[Mabillard, A. (1999). Shakespearean sonnet basics: Iambic pentameter and the English sonnet style.]
Since the blueprint of his work is available, it is not surprising that the English dramatist Christopher Marlowe has a similar style, and that Shakespeare has been compared to Francis Beaumont, John Fletcher and other playwrights of his time. [Holland, P. (2013). Shakespeare, William (1564-1616). Oxford Dictionary of National Biography. Oxford University Press.]

For once, if Shakespeare was illiterate and uneducated person, who spent most if not all of his formative life as semi-esoteric, suddenly came up English literature so profound and bizarre, until such rest of the English literature masters at that time conclude that his work is a work of magic. Not only that, his literature bring a message that went against all the powers that be in his time and critical of all the societal illness (like drinking/gambling which were ingrained to the society). He started his mission solo, but in the end succeeded in his mission, despite the whole establishment apparatus where used against him, and up conquering England and France.
That is the extends of Muhammad achievement.
After that, maybe I can consider Shakespeare a prophet and his literature works are from God.

    • @condorianonegdiffsgoku
      @condorianonegdiffsgoku 11 місяців тому

Profit argument backfires on christians and jews. OT is filled with israel supremecy as God's own people. So one could say israel made it up. Jesus in NT allegedly claimed to be God. So one could jesus allegedly made it up due to the desire for becoming venerated among people (that is the only way to do it). But it is harder to say in regards to prophet Muhammad pbuh because he had other more easier ways to gain what he gained and he could have gained many things without making up a religion. And he could have made islam an offshoot of the dominant religion of the land. Joseph smith did that with christianity. Mecca was mainly pagan but islam matches more with judaism. Jews were in madina and he only migrated there later on. It is understandable to make up a religion that contradicts the dominant one to make oneself look superior (like making oneself God). This is something that can actually be said against christianity. But Islam didn't make Muhammad pbuh God. Infact making up a pagan religion precisely would have done that and it would have been more acceptable to meccan pagans who were the dominant religion.
Now you may say Muhammad pbuh was just thinking ahead and wanted islam to be global. Monotheism does that better. But what about your religion?

Also as you said if a piece of poem seems like Quran, tou'd accuse the poet to plagiarize that feom Quran. Finally, how can you Objectively assess whether a piece of literary work is "like" Quran or not. While Quran did claim that nobody will ever be able to produce something "similar" to it; it never discloses any metric that can be used how much similar a work is as compared to Quran. Even though scholars like Baqilani and others came up with some features of Quran which they deem to be inimitable, those aren't typically quantifiable. Also, if a work has some of these features you guys can always retract the scholars' opinions saying that that was just refutation of the scholars' opinion, not Quran itself. Ultimately, this belief in inimitability of Quran is a pretty much unfalsifiable/blind belief.
