I dont see anyone mentionign the fact that during the entire time we see GOLBetty in Fionna and Cake, the more she controls GOLB and having any body language and all, she shrinks. You can somewhat assume her starting size in Ep9 and it looks like Simon would just be like a crumb to her, but when she picks him up in Ep10, hes like a lego figurine in her hands. Not to mention that we get plenty of shots showing how insanely large she is supposed to be, but at the end Simon is almost as tall as one of her lower eyes. Of course it could be something they did for the sake of shots not being mostly just one color with no detail, but still i feel like theres *something* about this...
My theory is that betty is a comet now, dead, or something beyond. She killed the LAST scholar of golb, and on the bus the destination translates to comet. I think because there are no more scholar she and golb dont really have a purpose, so maybe thats why at the end we see her transform into that blue thing. The thing with that is that there’s an infinite amount of Liches, all different versions, in the multiverse. The one Golbetty turned into a cubic piece was only one version of the Lich, the one that succeeded in killing everything. In Together Again, there’s still the hand that belonged to Farmworld Lich, which takes place years after F+C. And in the end of Come Along With Me, there’s still Sweet P, who is technically a Lich.
So this might be a pretty insane theory, but, if you look at Golbetty, its top set of eyes clearly represent more feminine Betty eyes. How ever, if you look at its bottom set, you can see that there connected with a thin ''frame'' like type of deal. In addition, the bottom set of eyes has a thin grey-ish outline going around them, almost making them look like glasses. 1:58 This is also very curious shoot framing.... Could it be that, in the future, Simon will actually become Golb, and him and Betty will live for ever in this weird union?
I hope the Simon will also find a way to fuse with Golbetty, I mean they went that route in Star Trek: The Motion Picture so why can’t they do it here?

She cares for him, but won’t give up her newfound position for him.
It's bittersweet how the writers made Gilb and Betty one. Unlike what happened to Magic Man's wife, the power of the crown saved Betty by merging her with Golb. This resulted in Golb receiving what it lacked. I want to see what this show becomes when it reaches it's 2nd final finally.

Betty will stay fused forever with golb. It is the sacrifice she chose to save her beloved. The cape not being there does not prove anything at all. Understand that its so hard to animate a cape in a situation like this. Would the cape flow upwards or down? Would it sway? It would be so much easier to get rid of it.

So Golb’s childhood is gone and the adulthood of Golb is manufactured. Either means Betty absorbed to Golb and Betty became Golb. Golb is still Golb. Just changed Golb isn’t unlike previous one nor Betty. Golb is just Golb.
