A phrase can also be when a new element of the song its introduce like a break or a vocal or a new chorus. Or a build up. You can mix whetever you want in those parts also there is another important thing depending on the length of the song if you mix a Song that its half time with one that is the double speed the phrase of the one that its double speed is gonna start probably before. So you can fade out more quickly or more slower
This is wonderful bro. If you add the element of harmonic mixing following this tutorial I believe it would help the learners to achieve a smoother melody. :)
Hey do you have any idea what to do if the phrase structure of the second track is not the same as the structure of the track you want to mix in. I don’t know what to do then if the phrases don’t fit, this happens if I want to mix in earlier instead of always doing intro outro. Great lesson

Interesting. It comes with practice. As I mentioned. Something changes every 32nd beat. So listen for these changes and just when it changes you can start your counting 😇
You can't talk about Phrase mixing without taking about the key. If the keys clash then phrase mixing would not sound good. So you have to blend tracks with keys that compliment each other; otherwise known as harmonic mixing.

No. Professional DJs don't count. After some Experience you just hear the changes and counting is automatic in the head. There is no proper way if Counting. Just count according to how you understand bro. And the yellow think is nothing but a wire organiser.
Music its simple math. At te end of a phrase or its added a new instrument,a breack or a chorus,thats why we should add the new track at that timing,like its a new instrument or sound added to the track.Other wise it would sound off!
Didn’t know this had a name. I’ve been mixing like this for 40 years. Good for the newbies, but this will only work for dance music. You won’t get 32 bars to mix with from other genres.
