    Very well explained. Ive been making music for 20 years and teaching dance fitness so counting is second nature to me.
    I always go back to the fundamentals and this is great for beginner DJ's who know nothing about beats and counting.

      Great tutorial on song structures. Can you have a tutorial on beat matching a song to the Family Affair song. Like setting the second song like the first one and beat match both songs,, now that would be awesome. I'm a beginner, I've got the beats, bars and phrases. However, I'm having some problems with beat matching both songs continously on the beat. Thanks.

    To conserve cue points, I don't worry too much about the middle of songs and try to focus on beginnings/ intros and perhaps solo, bridge, breakdown that would occur about 3/4 a way through the song for the next transition.

    do you of cue a song on the grid line to get smoother transitions and beat match

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  Місяць тому +1

      For the most part, cue points are typically on grid lines when the beat grid is analyzed correctly!

  • @1augh0utL0UD

    I with there was a way you could add different markers that weren’t cue points. Good video though!

    Do you actually have a loop saved to the last hot cue - or is the saved loop already activated and the hot cue simply jumps to the activated loop? Thanks for the videos - super helpful!

      You’re welcome!
      I remapped my last hot cue button to “auto-loop”! Feel like it’s much quicker and easy to use than the 4 beat loop.

  • @tavomagno5

    Why the bridge is not another verse?? Sorry im confused there

    • @DJLiftOFF
      @DJLiftOFF  3 місяці тому +2

      @@tavomagno5 no worries! A bridge is just the terminology for that music structure. You can think of it as another verse technically though. Bridges tend to shift in key and represent a slight change - mostly in older songs, however I hear in some of todays music too. But all in all, don’t get caught up in the term “bridge”, you can think of it as another verse.
