Richard! glad to hear you are experimenting and kudos on your success! I have found it takes a few seasons for the mycelium to establish, what is key is the area in which you plant needs a good mulch cover to hold in moisture .... think about a forest floor ....
SO! this michigan spring has been troublesome to say the least. Warm ups, then frost, super slow in getting the night time temps to stay consistently above 40 and to add insult to injury, we have severe drought conditions so all these factors come into play. My "wild" places are just now starting to sprout, my "farmed" places are not showing results. I will definitely attempt this again. In the past I have noticed that when I use cypress mulch, it facilitates mycelium growth and I didn't add a layer. Also, it has been suggested to prepare the earth with ash and sawdust .....
OKAY!!!!!!!! I didn't have AMAZING results but I did just find a morel from my slurry SO it DOES WORK!!!!!!!!! this year's weather has not been kind for morels in my area BUT I will definitely repeat the process for more success next year!!!
Our wild black and grey are starting to come up in full force. I'm going to save about a quarter pound of each and add to a quarter pound of yellow and try this. Hope you have more next year. Remember it can take up to 7 years for them to fruit a actual mushroom.
Hi there! we moved 4 years ago, so don't really know how the garden is progressing, however, we did start one here last year and so far so good! they are just about to pop with our good weather coming in .... just have to beat the deer to them LOL
not great results this year although there were results! I have since moved but will definitely stop in to see if the spores I planted this year come up in 2019 thanks for asking!!
thanks! I've been checking my "wild" places and the morels are just starting to come up. So far nothing from my slurry but this has been a tough spring, slow in coming with warm ups then frost so overall I'm not giving up
yes, I have added my update in the comments below ..... I got a very low yield but this season's weather was tough so I am repeating the process with high hopes for next year
come to find out it takes 2-3 years for the mycelium to fully establish and "bloom" so no real visible results this year. we have moved so I now will start a different garden for my beloved fungi - stay tuned!!!
Thanks for asking and the weather this season has been unfavorable. I visited my usual spots and where I would find 50+ I have counted only 10 so far ..... I will repeat the process with some changed variables and will keep you posted for next year!
Sadly not this year! I visited my usual spots and where there are usually 50+ I counted 10. I am convinced our weather here had a lot to do with the results but never fear, I am undaunted and will repeat the process this year. Thanks for your interest!!
Not warm enough yet Ron!! but we are excited to find out!! believe me, I will post either way ..... we still have 3" of snow and freezing temps. We need to wait for warm moist nights Thanks for the interest!!
Add some wood hash too ! Morels loves to grow after a forest fire !!
Hey Julie! Have experimented a lot since this video, nothing yet. Probably had my most productive year in foraging however.

Thank you, I have a friend who always has sponge mushrooms and he does spores for planting.
we did get a small yield this year .... it has been very dry ....

@@badasstrucker9157 I moved but will do a drive by .....
Hello Julie, it is 2022, five years after you post this video. How is morel framing going? Did it come back? for how many years?
Hi there! we moved 4 years ago, so don't really know how the garden is progressing, however, we did start one here last year and so far so good! they are just about to pop with our good weather coming in .... just have to beat the deer to them LOL
Tutorial good
Thank you Ade!
super cool morel cake mix wish you all the best and lots of morel and i will try it to thanks
Thanks Steve, I will keep you updated!
There is just one thing missing from your experiment that will help.It is a type of grain like oats.Hope it helps
thank you so much!!! I will try this
Why unsalted molasses, then you add salt?
so you have better control over the amount of salt. It's hard to know how much salt is in the molasses ...
💥NOTE: That is unsulfered👈 ( Non-Sulfer ) molasses.💥🍄🍄
Im from kishtwar india these morel are in plenty in our forest we got many 👍Wow its like same i get in my hometown.
you are very fortunate!! enjoy them!
@@juliemcdonough3946 yes i love my hometown😊
Are your hometown in India? How many months grow?
@@user-yg3nz3tg6c yes its morel season here😊
I'm trying got liquid span let's see if I get any success this spring
idk if someone else mentioned this or not but that is not filtered water my guy
How much can it sell for a pound
2:00 sc. What if I do with grape molasses? .thanks
no idea, didn't even know grape molasses existed!
Any sugar will work I’ve seen people use corn syrup
i hope you you boiled that water first it takes chlorine out of the water. chlorine keeps fungi from growing
Thanks! I have a well system so no chlorine, if you live on city water you will need to use filtered water
Tap water is fine.
How much is it selling?
I don't sell morels, just find them, cultivate them and eat them!
Julie......any luck? Asking from argentina!
not great results this year although there were results! I have since moved but will definitely stop in to see if the spores I planted this year come up in 2019 thanks for asking!!
Everyone is dying to know

did it work??
it takes up to 3 years for the spores to fully establish. my results were marginal
Video is a little over a year old... did ya get anything?!
Thanks for asking and the weather this season has been unfavorable. I visited my usual spots and where I would find 50+ I have counted only 10 so far ..... I will repeat the process with some changed variables and will keep you posted for next year!
Did you have good results?
Paul, I will let you know in the Spring of 2018!
Thanks Tom! In Michigan we still have 3" of snow and freezing temps at night, end of April at this rate LOL I will keep you posted!
Chinese mushrooms? which kind thanks!
How's it going?

Can you name all ingredients added in slury
unsulfured molasses, sawdust or rice, rice flour, salt and distilled or spring water!
I waant to seed spawn
Is name. GHOCHEE
if I'm not mistaken, Ghochi is a dumpling - this is a mushroom spore recipe for farming
And we're not going to see if it works
Not warm enough yet Ron!! but we are excited to find out!! believe me, I will post either way ..... we still have 3" of snow and freezing temps. We need to wait for warm moist nights Thanks for the interest!!
I'm interested also! Hoping for an update when the season gets into full swing :)
at some point Spring will be here! we are still in the throes of a major snow and ice storm, enough already! I want shrooms!!!
I heard it really does the trick if you add a little bit of basalt powder and kelp
thank you!!!
