Vegan BodegaCat’s hair is 10/10. Looks effortless and amazing.
Awww thanks
ALWAYS!
I think it was a good call to not pay the $300 over the phone. I've never heard about Airlines charging that much to check in... but I'm glad you made it safely to London!
I never heard of airlines charging anything to check in
@@vietnamd0820 I've been traveling a lot recently and it sounds like they were charging her to select a particular seat (even though it sounded like there weren't many choices left).
@@ginsoakedgirl4 even if that’s the case, usually when we let the airline choose the seat for us, there’s no additional charge for that seat
They weren't charging me to pick a seat. She was saying I was on standby and I needed to pay 300 to secure a seat.
@@bodegacatx Oh that does sound scammy. Because they're not allowed to overbook international flights! Crazy
Hopefully not scammed but that's Tower Bridge, I got intrigued when you said you were sitting right across from London Bridge because that didn't look like any of the offices etc around London Bridge..
Thanks for letting me know! I got confused because the neiborhood was called London bridge. So when I saw a bridge, I was like "oh, that must be London bridge". lol
Fergie made the same mistake in the London Bridge video 😂😂😂
It’s sad how people are scamming these days 🤦🏽♀️ London is one of the places I want to visit ❤❤
I've lived there and it is not the best, but it still holds a place in my heart, I love travelling and making travel vlogs on my UA-cam channel, and London is something I would recommend to visit, but not really to live in as a family
@@oxanadc thank you for this and yea definitely just to visit. I love your vlogs ❤️❤️
Really nervous at the start: I read an awful account last week about people who were scammed out of 30 K worth of in-ground pool installation funds because someone stole the e-mail account of their pool guy and was impersonating his style of writing in e-mails asking for third party payments, which went into the crypto ether. SO glad it was OK! You seem like a natural traveler, just bopped right into London without missing a beat. Really enjoyed this little travelogue and hope there's a follow-up, so thanks for posting : )
There will def be a follow up! Stay tuned! And wow, thats such a wild scam
That potential scam is crazy.. I would have paid due to anxiousness lol 😅 I’m surprised you didn’t have issues at the airport, thank god. One time when I was flying home from New Mexico (visiting my long distance boyfriend) I was able to get on my first flight but it didn’t print a boarding pass or ticket for my connecting flight. When I got there, the machine wouldn’t work or find me in the system and someone at the desk literally said I wasn’t on the list of passengers and I started crying lol because I was stuck in a random airport in a random state and I had class the next day. Luckily they had an empty seat and I got on the plane.. I was in my early 20s, on my own and I didn’t want to be stranded
Damn, I would have cried too. Glad it worked out though!
The food looked so good & I'm glad you didn't pay extra over the phone. That just didn't sound right. Fun vlog
I'm an American that moved to England 4 months ago and I'm really excited for your London content. My experience so far is that plant-based options are just a lot more normalized here. I live in a village about 90 minutes outside of London (kinda in the middle of nowhere) and even out here it's very normal when going out to eat to see multiple vegan and vegetarian options on menus. At restaurants it's normal for wait staff to ask upon seating if there are allergies or dietary restrictions and they're happy to accommodate whatever you need.
If you go to Sainsbury's for groceries I think you'll find it similar to Waitrose in that there are lots of vegan food options and prices aren't that bad. I also find prices of fresh produce a lot better here in England vs. the US. I bought a container of sprouts the other day that was 40 pence (less than $ .50) and I feel like in America we'd pay like $3 for that.
If you're in the Kensington area you need to go to Mali Thai and try their vegan pork belly. Also not vegan specific, I'd love to see you try blackcurrant flavored things because I love it and don't understand why we don't have blackcurrant as a flavor in America. Also if you see vegan Cornish pasties you should try one. I love how much of English food about things wrapped in pastry dough.
Have fun in London, cheers!
Similar story, was living in North America ( in the middle of nowhere ), moved to Europe ( in the middle of nowhere ) and even if Vegan options is non-existant here, the cost of food items is just at least 5 times cheaper. Grocery in Europe is just making a lot more sense, they cannot put a leaf plant based logo if this has not been officially approved. In NA, we had problems with non-official logo and things not being truly '' plant based '', I like how strict Europe is with their laws for food
yeah, ive noticed the same so far! Groceries are more affordable and vegan options are more normalized!
UK airports have pretty good vegan options now! We always have at least 2 options at Starbucks alone plus restaurants and cafes always have a vegan option. We're very lucky!
saying that - please try the independent cafes in London, we have some of the best coffee (don't go to starbucks!!)
Ive been trying a new cafe every day! Havent found any I love yet though.
Great vlog & outfit as always. The chocolate pancakes looked really good. Hope to see more videos from you soon. These London vlogs have been really good.
Thanks so much! 😊
I grew up outside the US and still have to stop and think about the date format here. Love that Neat Burger have reusable containers for dine-in food, another thing NY doesn’t have… ahem. Maybe you drop a mention about it to them? Glad you made it safely and hope you weren’t scammed.
Omg that that's so wild. I've never in my life had that happen or heard of it happening... definitely suss and I'm glad you went with your gut. Excited for your London content. Be safe and have fun! ❤
Thank you! I will!
Great video Rebecca. I thought you went with your mom. I’m glad you didn’t get scammed 😂
Yay! London content!!🤗
I'll be traveling internationally later this year (first time by myself) so I'm a bit nervous but seeing you solo traveling is encouraging. That's crazy they would have charged you that much to check-in
Solo traveling is the best! Have a good time!
How amazing is it that your wrap is in different countries! 😊
How cool that you are in London. Yes, I remember Luci from your Serendipity video.
I just left London yesterday! I loved it. Great vegan food
Waitrose is not like wholefoods😄 it's one of the most expensive supermarkets in the UK, not specialist, just another grocery store. Has less vegan stuff than other grocery stores too
Glad everything turned out OK for you. I would have questioned paying extra over the phone also (I hope). Hope your trip is fantastic!
That voice-over was effortless 👏
Have fun, stay safe!!!
Thank you!
Thought id let u know that its actually tower bridge not london bridge✌️
facts
Thanks for letting me know! I got confused because the neiborhood was called London bridge. So when I saw a bridge, I was like "oh, that must be London bridge". lol
Yeah, when I went, I was so disappointed when I saw London Bridge, but Tower Bridge looked awesome!
Grocery prices in the UK are way cheaper than the US. I remember even seeing American products that are cheaper there after converting the currency than they are here!
London vlogs oh my god yessssssssss !
Thanks for London ,!!
Holy Carrot, Purezza pizza, Camden Market, Shoreditch Box Park, (Brighton), Crosstown donuts, donut time, Unity diner, temple of seitan, sagar indian food, UK wholefoods, use deliveroo and ubereats for delivery😊
Also prets everywhere which is a chain healthy starbucks-esque place
Thank you so much!
Enjoy London 😊
Thank you! I have been so far
Going to London in 3 weeks. So exciting.
Have a great time!
So fun ❤️
yeah weird they would ask you to pay more! be careful
That was so sus! How did you end up getting your boarding pass?
I just showed up to the airport and I was given a boarding pass. I didnt question it. I did show the possible scam email to the front desk though and asked them if it was a scam and they said they didnt know. So weird. But again, I haven't been charged anything so thats good.
@@bodegacatxwhat website did you buy your ticket from? And where did you get that phone number from where you called and they asked for $$? Btw if your card does get charged with any scam charges you are not responsible for them! I used to work at a credit card company, you just file it as fraud with your bank and they will reimburse you.
I have traveled from the US to EU countless times now and have never heard of paying extra to secure your seat...once you book the tickets that is it, you have a seat on the plane. You CAN pay extra to secure a SPECIFIC seat but that is never 300 unless it is a slight upgrade from the normal economy seat lol. I would definitely be suspect of fraudlent charges and maybe let your bank know in advance. Check-in is always available through the airline you booked either online or at the airport.
I wanna try the Yo Egg so bad🥹it looks so yummy🥰
I'm in London just now as well and had a great dinner tonight at What The Pita on Brick Lane. 100% vegan.
omg need to try it next time I am there, would love to do a vlog about it for my UA-cam channel
Ive heard thats good!
Someone told me to try it there too, I checked the menu and it looks divine ( *︾▽︾)
uhhh can't wait to do my next London travel vlog then, cause this must be featured@@MysteriousBeingOfLight
@@oxanadc Do you any have other restaurants in mind ? 🙏🏼
Good Job👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you 🙌
Ohh wow!! Welcome to London ☺️☺️☺️ I doubt you’ll need recommendations but if you do need anything give me a shout!
Thank you! Will do!
Unrelated but you look incredible in the thumbnail wow 😻
Aww thank you!
Tell Neat Burger to come to Toronno 😋🥰
It’s shocking how few vegan options there are at JFK.
yeah, LGA has a great burrito
I want the inside scoop on what happened at the airport? Did they charge you there?
They didnt! And I showed them the email to ask if it was a scam and they said they didnt know!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Welcome to London, you'll be spoilt for vegan eats. Try purezza for pizza and holy carrot for high end vegan. There's to many to list.
Thank you! I have so many recs and not enough time.
Yeah I have no idea how smart sweets is still making the watermelon gummies. They are so bad.
So so bad. Some of the other versions are ok though
What,airline did you fly?
Virgin!
Did u end up paying a $300 fee to check in?
Thankfully, no!
