Hi, I have a Keylab 49 midi controller that I bought it used from other people, how do I set it up to work with FL studio? I'm new with the record system...
You're amazing ! You're so crystal clear and concise. It would appear to me that you put a huuuuuuuuge amount of time and effort into arranging your words properly and logically before you even OPEN your mouth 👌👌 . It is hard for other people on UA-cam to arrange the concepts and lay them out properly before they open their mouths. You're unlike anybody else out there who records tutorial videos 😁. You literally helped me to learn FL Studio in less than a DAY and I am Not even English speaking ! Hats off to you . . and keep it up 🙌 🙌 !
Just wanted to say thank you for all the videos you do, you are one of my favorite teachers to learn from, you explain everything very vividly, in easy to understand terms and break things down nice and easy. I always leave your videos smart than before whether they are 2 minutes long or 20 minutes.
Just wanted to say, in 2020 your tutorial is still helping people!! I was ready to sell my electric drums because I couldn't get them working with my PC after watching a thousand other videos!! YOURS got it for me! Thank you!
I was struggling with setting up my arturia minilab mark 2 on fl studio 20. it was able to play midi keyboard in all my synth plugins, include sylenth1, but i followed the steps for enabling master sync as this video suggested, and that solved my problem, i can now fully control all of the dials and controls using the keyboard! Thank you, will pass on your video to several producer friends!
Now that last part you went over of setting up knobs and faders is literally overlooked by almost everyone. Probably because every thinks it's so easy or common knowledge. Thanks.
Hey Just to say thank you so much for all of your videos, I'm new to FL Studio and your videos are the perfect solution, I really feel like I'm moving now. Huge respect and thanks! :)
Just a little hint: At 6:55 - in the current FL Studio Version 20.7.2 you have to click "Reset" and then "Accept". If you click just only "Reset" and close the window, the knob ist still linked to the parameter. ;-)
Bro in the last two days I been learning more about my equipment and daw with your videos then I have in the last 6 months. I’m not even joking well maybe im being a little extravagant but dude if I have a question about anything on the daw I can just watch one of your videos
Honestly best video out there for setting up Midi devices holy molly. Thanks mate got all my faders anol working now! :D Been playing around with a keyboard for a year now time to add in faders :o
Thanks for the very informative video. I was able to master the linking sliders and knobs on my two external controllers. Just in case some on elses struggles with what I had problems with: the video does not mention setting each external controller to a different midi input port. This did not work for me until I set my input ports.
Excelent tip, I have a Midiplus Origin 61 (a cheap version of M-Audio Oxigen 61), and a Novation Launchpad and always had the problem using both at the same time, thanks a lot! I´m going to test it tonight at home... Thanx x1000!!!
So this doesn't work with the Maschine drumpads? I have the MK3 mikro which works perfectly fine in the DAW they deliver with it but I kind of hate that Daw... I tried what you've described from 1:00 tot 3:05 but the part where you check if it's receiving anything remains numb. It doesn't receive anything :( As if it remains off until I open it's own software
For those with a Maschine. This video showed me that the Maschine has a 'Midi mode'. Hold shift and press the button most left above to enter 'midi mode'. You can now use it as a regular midi drumpad. I didn't understand the language he spoke but she shows what he's doing! ua-cam.com/video/dvhjMkB1buY/v-deo.html
You know what would be nice, if you could click a "random link parameters" button on the plugins wrapper and then play about with your dials and faders to see what's been linked... would save a lot of time and be fun also.
If anyone wondering how to play the drumpads and keys at the same time from a midi keyboard which has both keys and drumpads (like i have M Audio oxygen 49) you can open the channel rack and select both the vertical rectangle boxes(found just by the side of the vst plugin added on the channel rack) by pressing Ctrl & shift on your keyboard. It will automatically assign the synth to the keys and the drum pad to the drum pads
Everything seems to be fine when setting up only that when I press a key on my keyboard no information is being sent to the information box, its not picking up my notes.
This has been most helpful. I use Reaper, and have one of the mid-sized Arturias (sp?), but I have not been able to figure out how to get all the dials, faders, and the drum pad to work. I feel like this video has given me some ideas to think about when I attempt to set these items up next time I'm in it. Cool beans. -=B-)
Hi, I have a problem with my midi controller and sutain When i press the sustain, sometimes it plays a note (usually E5) instead of sustaining. It's very annoying and I don't know how to fix it. I appreciate every ideas and solutions. Thank you
Sir, Akai MPK Mini MK 2 has piano as well as drum pads on a single hardware So will we be able to use piano for synths and drum pads for Drum Machines at the same time ? Please help on how to setup Akai MPK mini MK 2
i’ve been use the mini 2 for a little over a year and from what i’ve read and experienced you cannot use both at the same time, but you are able use both once it’s set up, just not at the same time
Thank you very much I'm new to this i got it to have drums playing with my ukulele when im playing with a looper pedal so I can have better sounding music. Thanks again.🙂👍✌
Hi, Can you please make a video on how to assign drum pads to channel rack without FPC? He assigned each instrument from channel rack to drum pads in order 1-16. I saw someone did it online but can't figure out how. I am using launchkey 49
Thanks for the support man ! You're helping me a lot and you were in the very short past time that I've found your channel . Now , I have the same type of midi controller like you had or still have : the M-Audio Axiom 49 . I do have some problems with Fruity loops . In your last video , about this subject like here , you were able to use the record , play , fast forward etc. from your midi controller . I tried it but didn't worked for me . And I have some other issues with my controller when using Kontakt . I can't assign my knobs , sliders to a designated knob etc of Kontakt instrument , using that feature " Link to controller " or "Override generic link " Another question for you that I have , if I may , is : How to reset the knobs , sliders using them for other purposes . Why can't I use the feature from mid out ,, receive notes from " other vst instruments ruther than my midi controller . Thank you in advance !
Great video, man! Thanks for this. Is there a way to save MIDI mappings across various projects? I've mapped a few controls from my Arturia KeyLab 61 MkII to Serum parameters and it works a charm, but wondering if I'd need to set that up every time? Cheers for all your content!
5:14 I've figured out a solution to this! If you want be able to switch scroll through multiple Channel Rack instruments simultaneously (in case you want to have certain drum samples for one song, but different samples for another), follow these instructions: 1. In your Channel Rack, select the "+" button at the bottom left. 2. Select "Layer" from the drop-down menu. 3. Click on "Layer" in your Channel Rack to open it. 4. Hold CTRL and select a VST in you want in that layer 5. Hold Shift and select any other VSTs you want in that layer 6. Click "Set Children" in the Layer box. If you do any of these steps out of order, it won't let you set the children, so make sure you follow the directions _exactly_ . I hope this helps! :)
Just a question: Do we have to link the controller with our midi controller everytime? Can't be it linked with that controller as default? Like linking a parameter of Fruity Parameter EQ 2 with one of my knobs of my midi keyboard, do I have to do that "link to controller" everytime whenever I'm starting a new project??
Hi Michael. First off, I'm truly impressed by the quality of your channel. It's absolute top tier! And I've seen a lot :-) I'm also grateful for all the knowledge you're sharing. Now, for my question, hopefully you or someone in the comments will know the solution. FL Studio is incorrectly reading the pitches from the pads on my Arturia Minilab 3. For example, pitch set to a pad on the controller is C5 but FL Studio plays C3. I tested a few different settings and it seems that FL Studio pitches the pads 2 octaves down. No issues with the keyboard by the way. The hardware script is up to date. Any idea what might be causing? Any info / help much appreciated!
Hi Michael ! I love all of your videos! Very quick questions: I have connected my MIDI successfully and there's two issues 1) The sound is awful, with no clarity on Addictive keys- how do I fix this problem? 2) There is too much latency...do I need to reduce the buffer or is there anther way? I connected my MIDI via USB cable...should I connect to my UM2 Audio interface for better results! Would love anyone's take on this Thanks so much!
Hey man!!! Thanks for the tips. I want to play the bass through controller's keys but the drums through controller's pads simultaneously. Is it possible to set up?
Thank you for the briefing. However, after connecting my controller A-500 Pro and the computer with the MIDI cable only the red light flashed but not the green one. I was also able to hear the sound of the controller with the application through the speaker of the computer. But unable to play the controller. Would you (any one) mind to give me any advice on what i should do ... Regards
Man you are a great tutor of FL Studio I liked your classes very much.... Can you tell me in details how can I setup the transport control of FL Studio to get controled by the transport of the midi divice

i have a KORG EX wavestation, i recently bought a midi adapter to connect it to my pc but even after installing the drivers for the legacy keyboards it still doesn't work, every time i am asked to select the keyboard there is only the driver filename but not the name of the keyboard, i tried using different software and different sites but still nothing. I don't know if it's a cable or keyboard problem
I have Yamaha PSR -E473 not a midi but works though currently when recording it does not record in the piano roll but just records on the channel rack.
Excellent tutorial, as usual. Just one question: Is it beneficial to enable "Send master sync" if you are using the controller only for MIDI "IN" into the DAW? I have been using MIDI keyboard from quite a few years, but never felt the need to turn this option on. I am also using Axiom 49 2nd gen and FL Studio btw. :)

Clear and concise. Thanks. "Never as simple as it looks" That line just about says it all when it comes to this topic. BTW: Am loving your channel.

The best FL Studio Channel on youtube ! Thanks!
bro your good asl at explaining things, truly appreciate the info.. your channel is AWSOME
Best video about MIDI ever! I would add that the keyboard and drumpad should be on different ports
Been a min since I got new keyboard, in the mix never fails !

Dude. I know this is an old video, but this helped a lot! I know how to record instruments, but midi and electronic music is new for me
The camera looks great!
Four Wulves it's a big improvement on the old one 😊
I just want to say thank you for your time, these videos definitely help.

You know what would be nice, if you could click a "random link parameters" button on the plugins wrapper and then play about with your dials and faders to see what's been linked... would save a lot of time and be fun also.
I've discovered an even more useful method using the user maps on my controller!
Thank you so much for making this video.
Couldn't have figured it out without this
Such a clear and gentle video. Thanks bro

What rectangular boxes ??
Merely selecting the instruments in the channel rack does not automatically assign them to the pads. Using FL 20.
Searching for it... Since a ling time... Nailed!!!
thanks for all of your educations . these are so use full and gooood
Any chance you could do a updated video on how to map the fingers pads to individual channels in the step sequencer.
Everything seems to be fine when setting up only that when I press a key on my keyboard no information is being sent to the information box, its not picking up my notes.
same.
I am having the same issue
same did u find a solution guys ?
No way! Ive just discovered a new world lol
Brilliant. Exactly what I needed to get started with this $5 Casio CTK-3200 as an input device
