Best tutorial about this product. I was looking for a tutorial, but all i found was, reviews, this plastic, this aluminum, its pretty, etc. Thanks for the video.
Thanks a bunch, I must say that you are a very wonderful teacher, you are the only person that has explained how this tool is being assembled and set that makes me understand it. I have watched other people but I just cant understand it but yours is elaborate.
Your instructions are much clearer than the manual, which of course is why I’m here. I like how you stayed on topic. Others that I watched demonstrating this product were repeatedly mentioning their other ripping guides. This became frustrating as I had to wait through it for the next steps in setting up the product the vid is supposed to be outlining.
Thank you so much. I've searched for three days looking for a video that explains how to use the rip cut and nothing has worked as well as your video. Thank you
Many thanks for being so detailed in teaching the setup. I struggled with it until I followed your video step by step. My first 2 cuts were perfect 90's ! Keep up the good work.
@Heartwood Art A few others mentioned this too. The blade (with the cover pulled back) is supposed to be tight up against the blue guide that attaches to the metal rail. Then you move the clear guide (on the sled) so that read line is at the zero mark on the metal guide. You won't actually be ever cutting at zero. That is why it says on the metal rail that is not recommend to cut shorter than 1 inch cuts. So, in your video when you talk the blade binding, you would never cut there for that to happen in the first place. Your example of moving the circular saw cover back and forth to show the blade not being able to bind against the bottom blue guide is not a scenario that would happen unless you are trying to cut below 1". Again, not recommend. If your cuts are accurate, then you most of adjusted the clear guide or simply got lucky that clear guide was in the right location your saw. But, if it's not in the right position, this video won't help you get it correct. However, you don't mention this in the video. You can see this on Kreg's setup video: ua-cam.com/video/vgCncJ0N0gs/v-deo.html Also, for the saw blade cover, you should be centering this in the opening of the blue saw sled opening. That way the cover it's self does bind. In the video, yours looks to be close to touching one side. By the way, video was great. But, that section might confused people.
You are an absolute hero for making this video. I have been trying so hard to figure this thing out and I finally get it after watching your video. Thank you!!!
You have a left handed saw? When I put my right hand on my circular saw-handle and looking at the back of the saw the blade is on the right side of my right hand, blade is facing away from me.
@@V1N_574 this tool requires a straight edge to track on. So if you’re cutting a lot of new plywood with factory edges, this is a quicker way. But with a track saw, you have to line up the cut
Would love to know how to safely use and measure how to use the kreg rip cut when cutting a 45 degree angle! (example, cutting plywood at an angle for joining two pieces at a 45 degree corner without a table saw)
Nice video…but according to the manual, you’re supposed to lift the blade guide up and then slide the sled until the BLADE lines up with the edge guide, then zero the cursor.
Here’s an article on the debate about it. Blade on left with regard to handle makes the cut line easier to see for a right handed person, hence it is considered a right handed saw www.protoolreviews.com/left-side-vs-right-side-circular-saw-blade/
Best video for this tool. I've had mine 3 yrs but never fully understood how to use it. THANK YOU!!!
Best tutorial about this product. I was looking for a tutorial, but all i found was, reviews, this plastic, this aluminum, its pretty, etc. Thanks for the video.
You’re welcome
I saw so many videos on this and this is the first that provided details and reasons "why". Thank you!
Yep, the why is just as important as the how
after so many hours of watching videos, this is the one vid that will make me buy this tool, thanks a lot beautiful Lady, really appreciate

I’m so glad you found it helpful!!!

Glad you found it helpful. I’m like you, I want tutorials that get right to the point and stay on track
This is the perfect video. Thank you for your time.
Thank you so much. I've searched for three days looking for a video that explains how to use the rip cut and nothing has worked as well as your video. Thank you
What fantastic well explained video. It is so comprehensively explained, I guess when you're not in the shop you are a teacher. Many thanks
Thanks for explaining slowly and throughly. I watched another tuber review and he lost me after 1 min. You’ve very good. thanks
Appreciate you sharing that with me!
Many thanks for being so detailed in teaching the setup. I struggled with it until I followed your video step by step. My first 2 cuts were perfect 90's ! Keep up the good work.
Thrilled to hear it!!

This video should have way more views!! Thank you for these tips I just bought my own kreg ripcut
Rhank you for your kind words!! And hope you enjoy using this tool as much as I do 😁
Thorough explanation. I read the directions but it always helps to see someone do it as well. Thank you!
Agreed!! After I set it up the first time, I knew making a video would be helpful for everyone
Thank you! This helped so much!!
Good tips now I feel confident using this tool. I just bought one and it arrived today. 😊
Best explanation thus far. I feel confident enough to purchase and assemble now...thanks

great detail, compared to other video's! Thank you!
This is the best s we t up video I've found for this and now feel confident to set up my Rip Cut today 🥰
Thanks!! I am delighted with the accuracy of cuts I can make with it
Thank you for this video!!! Best explanation by far. I’m going to give it another try now.
You're welcome!! I've found this tool to be super accurate when properly set up.
That's a really informative helpful video
Thanks for a lovely video 🙏🏽👌🏽this really helped me set up my guide and understand how to get started for the first time ❤
Thank you for this video on the kreg set up rip cut jig
You’re welcome
Great video! That helped me a lot, thanks!!
very nice one right here. sometime i do both. left and right.
Awesome video!! Thank you huge help…
Would be nice to have seen you cutting your test cut.
Would have been nice if my camera battery had not run out without me knowing too 😜

Scrolled too far to find this.
Great video, thank you :)
You’re welcome
great job! th anks
WOW at 68 and 70 my wife and I easily and precisely cut lots of bead board walls and doors
@@douglasmccarter8926 love it!!
Thank you!
I love it when you can tell they've read the instructions. Thanks so much. I can't wait to get mine.
The cursor should be inline with the outside cutting edge of the blade. Apart from that, a great explanation of how to set the Kreg up.
Iif you align it that way, your cut would be off the width of the kerf
THANK YOU!!
Well done
My question is, should I have thos AND a track saw or just one or the other?
@@V1N_574 this tool requires a straight edge to track on. So if you’re cutting a lot of new plywood with factory edges, this is a quicker way. But with a track saw, you have to line up the cut
Thank you for showing the left hand right hand orientation on the rail. You are the only one who spoke to this.
Would love to know how to safely use and measure how to use the kreg rip cut when cutting a 45 degree angle! (example, cutting plywood at an angle for joining two pieces at a 45 degree corner without a table saw)
This tool is made for parallel straight cuts.
Thanks a lot.
It would be good to see a comparison with the Bora vs Kreg circular saw cutting guide, I think Bora is perhaps easier but safer
Thank you. What is the reason this is for plywood and not a hardwood!
You can use it on any wood. It’s just more commonly used to rip down plywood.
It's compatible for all model makita circular saw? Thanks
Kreg says it works with all saws but you may want to ask them directly
It needs to up to the blade not the guard
I think you need to bring the blade right up tight to the rail when your zeroing in otherwise your going to be off half the width of your guide
You have to be careful of binding, which is super dangerous. My cuts came out exact with the method I used
very good!!!
Nice video…but according to the manual, you’re supposed to lift the blade guide up and then slide the sled until the BLADE lines up with the edge guide, then zero the cursor.
@@pablito_1985 they may have changed the manual since I made this, but that does sound like a better way to do it
sadly this tool is expensive here in my country..
The locating dowels keep the fence square, it's preset, not something you can adjust! 😮
I always double check when assembling anything
Super great design. It's just made of the worst plastic they could find.
Would be better if you showed it being used.
Figured everyone who was interested in this tool had already seen it make a cut.
Why did you keep saying this was a right handed saw? This is a left handed saw ….
A left handed saw would have the blade on the right so that it would be on the inside, center when you hold it left handed
@@HeartwoodArt But if you hold the saw the blade should be facing away from you, if the blade is facing your body that’s dangerous.
The blade is always facing down. Left and right positions are what change in reference to the handle, not up/down positions.
Here’s an article on the debate about it. Blade on left with regard to handle makes the cut line easier to see for a right handed person, hence it is considered a right handed saw www.protoolreviews.com/left-side-vs-right-side-circular-saw-blade/
