So glad to find you. Have a dead 753 and just purchased a 843b at an auction "by mistake" so I don't know anything about them. Hope I didn't get a lemon. Has a little less than 1100 hours. Just want something for the ranch, not going to beat it to death on daily jobs.
The 843s are really nice machines they both had power and they looked gorgeous as well. In some case I like the 843 over the 853 sometimes

Just got done swapping the Perkins out for a Kabota in a 843.
This is a good video, and you seem to know quite a bit about the 843. I'd like to ask you a question. I have a 1986 843 Bobcat with a Perkins 4.154 200 Series engine. I need either a new cylinder head or a whole engine. I have searched all over North America for these parts, but to no avail. The 4.154 200 series engine is no longer supported. I know a person who adapted a Kubota light plant engine to an 843, but it took a huge amount of adapting. Do you know if an Isuzu engine can be fairly easily adapted to replace the Perkins? Thanks.
Hugh Smith thanks. I believe it can be. The head mechanic at my Bobcat dealership is an expert on these machines. He rebuilt a 743 virtually from a shell. I will call him to ask for certain though.

Hugh Smith it's a straight enough fit just bring the bell housing plate over
also the fan flywheel obviously, the engine you buy for it can be found in a Isuzu NKR/NPR light tipper truck preferred 1988/94 I'm pretty sure it's a 2.8 Isuzu IV had trouble finding 2.8 so sometimes when I cannot get one for a costumer IV had to install a 2.5 Isuzu from a NQR in feac I have my own 843 currently running a 2.5 Isuzu and load of power it's naturally aspirated, I do intend on installing the D1105 or 1505

Nice video, I realize it's an older post so not sure you will read this. Been doing concrete for 35 years, seems like a dying breed. I have a question that I have found difficult to find the answer to. Bobcat 843B ( I assume this as it has the original Isuzu engine ). It's broke down in a not so ideal location to work on and I am wondering how to get this up onto a trailer without damaging hydraulic pumps by dragging. Some people say there is way to bypass and free roll, never really specific to the model or procedure. Have you been through this before ?

There is a device made by BobCat that screws in the top of the pumps that allows for moving a non running machine. I cannot find the P.N. But call BobCat

John Furey thanks for watching. It's an estimate of the hours. He's been through a few hour meters since new. Back in his day you had a backhoe attachment, not an excavator so he worked 10 hours a day, everyday. I've put it in new sprockets, chains, gear boxes, axles, newer pump and universal. It's the original Isuzu engine and body of the machine.
