- One of six short films made for Columbia Pictures (from 1946-1949) starring comedic actor Sterling Holloway; best known for his voice work with Disney. He is, perhaps, most well recognised for being the original voice actor of Winnie the Pooh.
In this piece, Sterling portrays an absentminded - and rather impressionable - young man by the name of Elmer Fossdinkle, whose wife's struggling to cope with his forgetfulness.
When he's sidetracked by his neighbour, Joe Glick, and persuaded involuntarily to enter the Irish Sweepstakes with the money loaned to him by his mother so as to make payment toward their furniture - hereby resulting in the loss of all but his easel and artwork - his wife comes to the decision that she's had enough; and so does he, regarding Joe.
I love watching Sterling Holloway! He was a great and delightful actor
I can almost picture him in one of his bird character forms or one of his other animal forms from his Disney work acting out in these Columbia shorts.
I’m very glad that they didn’t add the laugh track.

Those paintings...😂
At least he paints better than me. So that’s a plus.
I finally got the pasture eyes joke. It's because the animal is an ass.
What are the names of the last two pictures he starred in?
Remake of Harry Langdon's "I Don't Remember" (1935).
