At Spital Limmattal, we just put the speechmike on the desk behind the keyboard and just toggle it on/off with a key combination via dragon medical, so all old school radiologists who want to hold something still can use it the old way.
Works like a charm!
What model and brand microphone do you use for speech recognition at spital?
Thank you for this video!!!
I enjoyed this video and I have also been looking at various solutions.
I agree with you regarding anything that has a cable going into the USB plug that it can become cumbersome and even dare I say "dangerous"!
I have been using Dragon Professional voice activated dictation software for over 10 years and have tried numerous microphones.
I notice that your Blue Yeti has a speech setting just coming from the front and if you alter this to full surround you will get a good result.
My preferred microphone is the FiFine k690 which is much better and like the Yeti has great settings. I have this above my desk on a boom arm so no cables, no charging and top quality sound.
This is a relatively inexpensive microphone for about $100 and does the trick perfectly. As I say, I have been looking at this for some time. When I'm travelling, I use a Bluetooth microphone synced up with my laptop and it works perfectly with Dragon Professional.
Once you have it mastered, it's an absolute cinch.
This type of software allows you to massively increase your productivity, accuracy and deliver exceptional service to clients and colleagues alike.
Best wishes
Cool thanks for sharing
"When I'm travelling, I use a Bluetooth microphone"
Which Bluetooth microphone?
How does the reliability of the dictation on the Phillips headset compare to the wired dictaphone?
Hello, I work in a room with 6 people, a lot of noise, I would like to know if it does good noise cancellation.
Can you please make one dedicated video on radiology reporting system including desktop and various radiology image viewing softwares which helps while reporting ..
Hi Dr Christoph in India I'm using augnito software designed exclusively for radiology vocabulary.
The software will be installed in PC and mobile works as mic for dictating reports
could you please share the contact details of salesperson in India
If anyone has a Mac, I’m using the beta version of MacOS Sonoma and getting great results with my SpeechMike 3700. Put mic in keyboard mode. I have used Windows too for years but Macs are much better for so many reasons. I use them professionally. You can also connect SpeechMike to an iPad if you use the Apple USB-C digital multiport adapter. Gives superb results in Dragon Anywhere.
hello! i am looking for a microphone to use on my macbook with dragon for mac (not for windows via parallels on mac- is that how you use the speechmike? cause on the product website they say it is only windows compatible. thanks!
The SpeechMike can be used as a mouse so hold it in the hand that handles the mouse and the other hand on the keyboard. Headset still gives you two hands on the keyboard...
Funny thing that your video comes out on the day a discussion in our practice started about new microphones :)
How do you start/stop the recording with the headset-type solutions?
Voice command or shortcut on keyboard
stop talking
Hi Dr Christoph. I would like to ask a question, if you can help me. i like having the functionality of having key shortcuts in my left hand, but i want to be able to avoid having to hold the mic up to my face countless times a day Can i use a SMP3700 as a remote control for the Speech One? I already have two of these (SMP3700), it would be a redundancy to have to buy the remote control. Thanks
Hi Dr Christoph, I have the same question: Is it possible to add shortcut functionality to the Speech One Mike? I currently have F3 and F4 on my hand microphone which I use as automated scroll down menu for reading mammography. Is it possible to add such shortcuts to the Speech One Mike? Thank you.
Thanks for sharing!
Which software do you use to dictate? Is there any key shortcut you use tu start/stop the recording?
Dragon medical 4.0 I believe, from Nuance
Could u show us with software , dragon ?
Hi Christopher, Ty for all your work 1st of all. My question is: is that safe to use a wireless headset microphone for 10 hrs exposure on a daily basis? (in terms of radiation safety and ? hazards on tissues especially brain tissue). My research says it is questionable and some lab mice studies results are not good in terms of increased risk of brain tumor even at the low frequency and power rate of headset that we use(especially Bluetooth connected). I switched back to the cable one from wireless after my research....I may be wrong, just wonder your opinion on this. Ty in advance
Now I am scared too. Damn. I'll look into it.
I found thiswww.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9086806/
@@DrChristophAgten Conclusion of ur article is : Our findings support the accumulating evidence that cellular telephone use under usual conditions does not increase brain tumor incidence...........'' UNDER USUAL CONDITIONS '' ..... I use the headset at least 8hrs / per day
I prefer to use the speechmike with a neck microphone holder, that way I get a noise canceling mic and can listen to music through headphones or speakers. I can't get used to the headsets, they hurt my head after a few hours and the sound is mono and not surround when talking.
You listen to music while reporting?
@@DrChristophAgten
Yes, I listen to music all the time.
Me too!
What neck mic holder?
sir, just one doubt... please reply sir as i need something like this for my reporting
Can we use this in any textbox where we keep the cursor on like WORD, NOTEPAD, some reporting software web based applications or
it has its own text box to transcribe on like AUGNITO
The mic didn't matter, it depends on what software you use
Well done perhaps we can use this for medical clinic dictations
sure works with office, any radiology specialty, law etc, you just need the vocabulary form the software. i use DRAGON medical v4
@@DrChristophAgten I find sometimes they don’t type exactly ortho terms that I am dictating and dragon medical is expensive I guess as no free trials
@@drturabarshadsyed8538 I use a dedicated radiology vocabulary that works great, I'm sure that also is available for ortho. And your can add all your own be terms to dragon too
Everyone already has a very good microphone: our phones. Using softwares like WO Mic or AudioRelay you can use your phone as a mic, either via wifi, usb or bluetooth. Works beautifully
Are you using the phone to report radiology? That sound not practical even if recognii is good
@@DrChristophAgten on the practial side, it has the same issue of the SpeechMike: you have to hold with yout hand. But I have tried leaving the phone on the table, in front of the keyboard, and pick-up and recognized pretty good. Its an option for someone who doesnt want or cant afford a good mic.
@@PsRafael84 how do you bring text to RIS/?
@@DrChristophAgten with these softwares I mention (WO client or AudioRelay) your phone becomes a PC Mic. You download the app on your phone and a desktop client in your computer. Then, the 2 (the phone app and the desktop client) link together and whatever audio is captured by the phone mic is transfered to the PC, so the phone becomes a PC mic. The latency is very, very low and the quality recognition is very high (in my experience) and now you can use in the RIS to report. And I also use other desktop app called Lilly Speech that allows speech recognition everywhere in the PC. Give it a try, it will cost you nothing, none of these that I mention are paid apps, they are all free
@@PsRafael84 what about radiology vocabulary?
How about the dictation software ;cause there are som many to choose from ????
dragon medical v4 works great for me
Foot pedal?
Why?
Emf radiation with bluetooth to brain?
Now i am scared😭
