    Yep, good one Kenny. I also bought the rotary tool today. Out of money now but that doesn’t matter to me. I haven’t got a clue how to use these things, but learning will be fun thanks for sharing with us.

      The rotary can be a bit of a challenge but do some test engravings to learn the process. Even using a large diameter dowel in the rotary can help you to understand it function and how it reacts to certain changes. Good luck with your new toy. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Thanks for tuning in.

    First of all, thank you for another great review, extremely useful for those looking at buying these items 👍
    Didn't realise it was April 1st already ... $200 to lift your laser up a bit ... how about a cabinet with an adjustable shelf to accommodate different heights of work, say upto 800mm tall (instead of the paltry 133.5mm they provide) ... not only that but it's light proof when you shut the door 🤣

      While I understand that this riser base and rotary may not be for everyone or in everyone's price range, for those who are interested in it, it truly is a solid unit. Thanks for tuning in Barry and for chiming in with your thoughts.

    Mine came with a solid riser base. No doors. Should I opt out for the riser base with doors? They said they would replace it if I wanted to ship mine back. I dont really plan on getting the conveyor.

      If it has no doors, how do you change the height of the base tray? On the one with the doors, the base tray slide out through those doors in order to adjust the height for various engraving items. My personal opinion is that even if you don't plan on getting the conveyor, if there ever comes a day that you want the conveyer, you won't be able to use it because of your base and will have to purchase a new one. It's better to be looking AT it than to be looking FOR it. Just my opinion. Thanks for tuning in.

    hey Kenny, quick question - can the riser base be installed into the machine permanently? Taking it in and out depending on the job seems like a hassle...

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  3 місяці тому

      The base IS installed permanently. It's the tray at the bottom that gets slid into different height slots according to the job you want to engrave. Rest assured, this base is installed once and that is where it stays from that day forward. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

    Thanks for yhe video! Im having trouble attaching my riser base to my machine. With the exception of the m3 20 the rest of the screws seem too short. Do you think i can just use any screws? Or i did something wrong?

    • @acutabove_woodworkings
      @acutabove_woodworkings  3 місяці тому +1

      I'm not sure why your bolts would be too short. The only thing I can think of is that maybe your are accidentally using the bolts that hold the tray in place instead of the bolts that hold the S1 to the riser base. Also, make sure that the S1 is completely seated in the corners of the base. The rubber feet of the S1 have to fit into the square corner recesses or it won't sit properly and the bolts won't reach. If you've tightened your riser base assembly bolts all the way, this can be a difficult task because the base needs to shift a little to get the S1's rubber feet in the corners. If that doesn't work and you want to use other bolts, as long as the thread count is the same and the length doesn't interfere with the tray sliding in and out of the top position of the riser base, any bolt will work. Thanks for tuning in. I'd be interested to know what the issue was when you get it resolved.

      @@acutabove_woodworkings I appreciate you for responding 🤗🤗🤗 so I pulled the machine apart and all my screws except one is the same size that the tray came with. I contacted the company and they said they are going to send me three m3 20 screws (I agreed to it) but i also went ahead and ordered some on Amazon and it worked they're flatter than the screws that comes with the machine though. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks again!

    I really enjoy your videos! I wanted to bring to your attention that another creator used a bit of your content from this video. You “were not” tagged, no UA-cam card, nothing in the description, not even mentioned in the voice over. I put a link below just in case you want to review the video. There was credit given, but it is barely visible, and I believe that is on purpose. Currently the video has gone viral at 277k. .

      Thanks for the heads up on this. I have commented on the video and called them out on using my footage without permission. I normally don't mind as long as proper credit is given but the faded out "credit" that was posted is not even noticeable. I mentioned in my comment that it would seem that a report has to submitted to UA-cam for copyright infringement. Even if he wasn't monetized, this might be fine with me, but the fact that he is making monetization income from content that he didn't film is just wrong. Thanks again for the heads up and for tuning in to the show.

      @@acutabove_woodworkings - Another creator took the high road with a comment. He literally blew it off. That is why I decided to take some action and post in every video he used! I thought others would perceive it in the same way! Thanks for taking the time out of your day, and posting! What he did was absolutely wrong in my opinion as well 👍

      @@acutabove_woodworkings - Also I am thinking there should be a copyright strike on his video? He literally rode the coattails of others, using content for equipment he doesn’t have to review. The video went viral, and lessons need to be made of this! It is way too late to give credit now. To me a video take down is the next necessary step. He shouldn’t be earning revenue off of other people’s hard work! Again just my opinion 😉

      @@Firstleaker He replied with a pretty lame answer and claims that it is allowed under the fair use and does not require explicit permissions. I'm looking into it now.
