As someone who has never heard of monkey man and is 10 seconds in to the pod so if it's a joke I don't get it - you could sell me anything by describing it the way you did. I'd watch it rain dicks for 2 hours if that was on the poster

Dev Patel is an incredible actor, if you haven't seen the film Lion, he's is incredible in it and the film itself is amazing, the final scenes are heartwarmingly gut wrenching, I cry Everytime I watch. Give it a go.

truthfully the only thing that bothers me about this silver surfer situation is this floating rumor that at the end the fantastic 4 will jump universes to the main MCU & the comic accurate silver surfer will be there. if we get a good female silver surfer that gets retcon'd at the end of the movie that'd feel really cheap & i'd be upset she'd never come back.
That's what worries me, too.

-Sky Captian and the world of tomorrow- it's got its problems but I don't care! Would you guys consider a caravan of garbage episode about that hidden gem?? Love the show!
So it's a movie about a guy who has snakes for eyes - is it played as though it's normal in that world? And does he see what the snakes are seeing or are they just their own thing? I can't wait for these questions to be answered in the next episode.

Norrin Radd Is the Silver Surfer. I was a major fan of the character and comic in the 1990s and it is disappointing we won’t get him in the MCU. Would have been great to see Herald Ordeal on the big screen.

I delayed listening to this episode until I did my Monday movie day, and ended up sleeping through all the movie times, and seeing The First Omen on Tuesday instead. The latter was actually a really solid, atmospheric horror film. Probably the only downside was that it's a prequel the 1st of a decades old dead franchise.
Guess I'll just skip the Monkey Man portion until I see it, 'cause I can't miss my boys!
You guys should continue a series of SNL alumni Movies. Ben Stiller and Janeane Gerofalo were both cast members. I don't think it is associated with the actual SNL/NBC production like for stuff like Wayne's world or Cone Heads but if your looking for an excuse that's as good as any.

Can't be Black Widow, because the writing was shit, and the main character was always a white woman anyway, and the only side character you could possibly make that claim was just that, a secondary character, hardly a relevant reason to the cluster fuck the production and end result was. Can't be Black Panther 2, because that was already a black centric movie, and it had the death of the lead actor to hit it harder. Can't be Eternals, which was an ensemble cast filled with white people, based on a comic book cast of weirdo non human cast. Guardians? No, that makes no sense either. Ant-man? Can't be either, completely focused on their mostly wuite cast, and mostly on the male titular character. Can't be The Marvels either, all those are pre established female characters, same ethnicity as their comic books counter parts, to claim it "prioritized diversity" makes no sense, they were diverse way before the movie concept even existed, and the focus on the movie is a meh space story, their different ethnicities doesn't even play a role, they could all be white women and the movie would play the same. Can't be spider man, multiverse of madness or thor 4, because they all focused on their white male main characters (and regardless of reception some of them got they wll grossed well). Or let's talk tv. Can't be she hulk, being female is literally in the name of the character, calling that "prioritizing diversity" is nonsense. Can't be the other better received shows, on account of them all having being generally well received, even the one with the shape shifting bisexual and the one with a black guy and a largely black centric narrative. I think if Marvel are going to exploit comic book characters in their movies, and they are doing this because established IPs have an existing audience, then it is not that unreasonable for that audience to be disappointed in interpretations that are different from the comic.

I just really want them to talk about X-Men 97 it's so good. They talked about Disney plus all the time it's weird that they haven't mentioned it at all since it came out, maybe it didn't come out in Australia? The fact that it had 100% on rotten tomatoes tomatoes for its first three episodes is incredibly impressive and they haven't been positive about a Marvel thing since Guardians and while I love the show I'm just saying you would be nice to have them be generally positive about a comic book thing. Unless they think the show is bad that's fine too. I'm just kind of bummed that they haven't talked about it at all since it came out

While not my favorite comic character, the Silver Surfer TPB I had growing up and still have is fucking astounding and one of my favorite comics of all time. But like James says, who cares? Do whatever, as long as the movie is good and I'm entertained!
