I'm the great grandson of C H Hyer some give him credit for making the first cowboy boot in America, having said that I was really impressed by your choice, first of all it's a B width, most people don't understand how boots fit. Second was the fact that it was a Nacona boot. My father ran the Hyer boot company for years and knee more about fit and boot making than anyone I know of , he had a store in California and sold lots of different brands but mostly he sold fit. He would always tell me that Nacona boots were probably the best boots from a quality of workmanship, in the store. Nacona was run by Enid Justin he always spoke highly of her. Anyway you got my respect on your choice. I wear Olathe boots but the last few pairs aren't holding up. They are the most comfortable but just don't last .
A good cowboy boot is all leather, inside and out. The sole can be something else. A all leather boot is cooler as well. Your feet won’t sweat as much. You usually get what you pay for. A good pair of cowboy boots that fit well will feel like house shoes.
Great run down! Love that you throw the used boots in there. I've always been a firm believer in the used market. Guitars, boots, be patient and you can find some amazing deals.
Jeremiah l just found your channel after l was given a pair of boots from my Mother that were my Dad's. He passed away is how l received them. They are guess what black Nocona's almost identical to yours except the stitching is white! I love these boots!!
That's amazing! Your Dad had great taste in cowboy boots. Sorry about your loss. Glad you have something awesome to remember him by. Thanks for watching
Your advice about gently used boots 👢 is right on the money. My last 2 pairs were used. Mainly I find folks are ordering the wrong size, and can't return them. So I'm picking up 5, 6, 7 hundred dollar boots for 1 to 2 hundred and they've been worn once or not at all. The seller's are thrilled to unload their boots they can't wear. Win win 🙌 😆
I have been wearing cowboy boots since I was age 4. That was 80 years ago. The Nocona boots you reviewed are the only ones that had a steel sole shank and wooden sole pegs and rounded toes.. That means they are the only ones that can be called "traditional" cowboy boots.
I would LOVE for you to review more popular womens boot brands (I know you can't wear them but even going over the brand, construction, price point, new releases, etc). Boots brands like Corral, Lucchese, Old Gringo, Liberty Black, Durangos, Lane/Junk Gypsy (loved your one review of these!), Dan Post etc. There is really no one on UA-cam doing that and it would be well followed by every one I know! 💜 PNW Cowgirl
I have a pair of Durango Boots , and I absolutely love them , I've worn them every day since I got them in 1987 , from America and they look like I just pulled them off the shelf in the store.
Dude - noticed your #1 -- if you like that - then you WILL LOVE the Nocona Oily Toro - OMG! bought a pair about 9 years ago - they don't make em anymore - so you'll have to look for used - but they are the best looking non-exoctic boot I've ever owned and feel like a glove on your foot - and tough as bull hide --
My favorite boots of this year are cheapo Durango boots that have composite (vinyl?) soles and a striped, painted on stacked heel! They sound horrible, but I just love the way they look - if you don’t look too closely. The perfect tan color, and a snip toe, but the toe is more rounded than pointy. I just love the shape of them. I love them so much I’d buy a back up pair if Durango still made them.
The red Chisum boots blew my mind as I have a pair of 30 year old Dan Post calfskin boots in light tan made that exact same way. Same pattern, same stitching, everything. First copy of that pattern I've ever seen. Cool.
*Do more Double-H reviews please!!!* I love their boots, everything about them!! They are my favorite boot maker!! I am a Welder I wear them every day and they stand up to so much wear and tear. In fact I wore them today while running the fourwheeler in the snow!! MAN I LOVE THESE BOOTS!! I personally have the DH5305 and The DH5400!! I prefer the color scheme of the DH5305 but the DH5400 is a beautiful boot as-well and both perform perfectly for hard working situations and daily wear!!
What an interesting line up for 2020!!! It would be a very interesting video if you did a ranking of the boots you tried over the last two years. You have done a terrific job even with COVID-19 throwing in a big curveball and not letting you do your quick in store impressions. Looking forward to a fantastic 2021.
That's a good idea. Maybe I'll make an overall ranking page on my website so I can update it frequently. You are awesome Carol. Thanks so much for all of your support this year. It's been so encouraging!
Great recap, helpful to see your comparisons. I also appreciate the honesty in saying ...if you’ve got narrow feet...etc. I can understand how it effects your rankings. I’d like to see a head to head between Ranch Road and Sendra. Same same quality and it’s just a style difference or is there something more fundamental happening? Enjoy yourself! Take care everyone. Hold your loved ones whenever you can, speak gently when stuff goes wrong, celebrate when things go right.
I think you should try wearing different Ely cattleman embroidered western shirts , also high noon embroidered western shirts & maybe plains embroidered western shirts try some of each & seeing how they look on you. .which ones you like best .
I would really like if you tried boots from Sendra. They are the only local cowboy boots that are available where I live, which is Sweden. They might be less popular in the US.
Just ordered a pair of the JW Ostrich. What a gorgeous boot. Used your promo code too. New Subscriber, by the way. This will be my first pair of Western boots in 25 years. Had a couple pairs back in the early 90s, but donated them to Goodwill as I stopped wearing them. Recently have been thinking about a new pair, and these JWs are the way to go!
I believe I got my Nocona boots this year and they fit me so perfectly it steered me away from me from getting other boots because I knew they would not fit as well haha. I also like what you were doing with your vocals at the end, a bit more serious tone that I like and a bit lower and less bright tones. anyway, lets hope to a great 2021 for boots
Late comment, but Whites plainsman and Wesco Morrisons. Bit pricey, but pretty interesting style. A stitchdown, slightly less pointed, pull one cowboy-like boots.
i have worn bobo (off brand) shoes all my life because of my Fred Flintstone feet. Wide as a duck, low arch, big toes. Almost all boots are way too narrow for me. I’m all in on my extra wide Ariats. I’d gladly pay more for nice boots if I could find any that fit without going full custom.
What about Lucchese and black Jack and Dan Post boots DUDE ? I work for trai West at downtown Nashville Tennessee ! Your response would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks Joe Edmondson !
Can't wait to do extended tests on Lucchese and Black Jack! If you want to collab send me an email jeremiah.craig@jeremiahcraig.com. I love working with boot stores like yours
My favorite boots are Dan post boots. These are the best boots I've ever owned, especially my snip toe boots. My second favorite is my ariat boots, and even though I wear a 9.5, I had to buy a 10 in ariat because the 9.5 was too tight and the 10 was slightly larger, but more comfortable
I got a pair of Noconas in the reptile/snakeskin lowers and leather uppers boots. They appear all original and very lightly worn. They look just like the pair redone on the channel here by the 2 young cobbler guys who redo rather nice shoes and some boots. Mine are 7.5D size likely from the 1990s.... I am taking a guess.
J.C., How about trying a pair of Tony Lamas Style: 3R1030 [Foot: Cafe Loco / Upper: 16" Black Rondinelo / Insole: Orthotic / Outsole: Rubber]. Also, really like Your video, Your voice, Your enthusiasm for boots and jeans, Your vitality, and Your overall labor of love loving the things that you've chosen to do. Awesome!
Jeremiah Craig of course! If you got a minute... check out this band: king sol & the vibes. I’m the guitar player. Perhaps one day... a jam. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
Tony lama or double h ? Been a Tony lama fan for years and I'm thinking of trying out the double h brand but can't seem to pull the trigger. Any thoughts?
I like the boot jack. When will you get more for 2021? Great review. I tried 15 pairs this year. I too like the Chisos, also in my top are the Marshall gator vamp and shaft from Tecovas, and a Blue Nile Crocidle from Lucchese
Hey Jeremiah (an awesome name btw I absolutely love it lol) your channel is amazing! It inspired me to buy my first pair of cowboy boots, even though I live in the UK! Great video as always :)
@@JeremiahCraig I'm still a student so I couldn't quite afford the Ariat's I wanted, but I'm really happy with the "Wrangler Texas high" boots I got-they're so versatile too! And add an extra inch and a half of height which is always a bonus haha
It’s been a while. Glad to see you’re still making music and stomping around in your shit kickers. I’m still wearing mill surp. Be open minded and treat yourself to some 80s or 90s Rosco’s speed lasers Panama soul. What boot
Hey Jeremiah. Could you do a review on a pair of simple black Sendra 2605? (Greetings from Denmark by the way. Now a country where it is close to impossible, to get any boots. Almost every western boot shops are closed. I dont get why rock musicians in Denmark doesnt where this kind of footwear anymore. They did back in the early ninetees, but now its forgotten. Wtf man... Buuuuh )
Have you tried Cavender's brand boots made by Old Gringo? I love mine. Caiman Hornback print . I think they have both print and real . Leather out sole , made in Mexico not China. A little stiff to get on but comfortable.
i’d say your nicest boots are the number 3 and your wedding boots are awesome i guess i’m prejudiced i only like snip toe and the pointy er the better i have square toes but like the luchesses in a square toe also nacona is a great boot
Just I’m old school, last time I bought a new pair of boots for like two years ago of course they were new brand for me they were a PIA made in Mexico with fringes the boot I’ve been looking for all my entire life I don’t tell you how long it is but things have changed so many new brands with insoles which they never came in before so you should get a size up or they may borrow for the insoles blah blah blah this is a long Jeremiah. That pair you should’ve the conditions of boots are desperate for your started wearing them who knows how long they’ve been in somebody’s basement garage attic etc. they could’ve been really dried out etc. etc. you should have known better Jeremiah. It always rocking your boots do you know what you’re talking about is doing an awesome job talking about boots next time I want to try some women just gone for a while and give us a review - J. Chrisholm Vintage or mine or not my art truth but you back in the 80s 90s OK but I just decided that that light ice skates which is stupid I’m stretching them now I finally found them after carry my apartment apart I thought they were going to be like Justin but knew the results so I must give away my guess is somebody I don’t know so bad is it that I do like my Tony Mahan, Handcrafted boots that I had forever before you were born, Picking up my trailers campers boots soon but trouble is it’s locked down and the owner wants me to truly truly be fitted properly and it’s the last seven but I know and it was a 7 and a high boots, Never will do a house I just want to say so I will never do a six month even though I’m not like the M 6 1/2 but I’m not going there then you have to go with like a narrow or wide blah blah blah but all my classes that’s all you just go to European European shoes next to American made cowboy boots well do you have a Spanish pair.. Typos I always dictate I’m not fixing blah blah blah
I condition all the used boots before wearing them or filming them. I've done videos about it! I do it for exactly the reasons you mentioned but also because I don't want to do a video on a dusty boot haha
Some boots are better than others in the snow. I made a video about it a couple years ago when I had lots of hair: ua-cam.com/video/HPXEnQAoiLI/v-deo.html
Jeremiah, asked your friend Nick to do a particular type of review, and thought i'd run it by you as well. I want a new pair of comfortable boots, which for me means lined with no exposed seams. Soft leather that is comfortable right out of the box, and at a price point of $300 dollars or less. They will be worn with both jeans and slacks. The brand is not as important to me as all day comfort. My local boot store carries a lot of cheap boots that are anything but comfortable, and more expensive exotic boots like ostrich. Nothing in stock in the 200 to 300 dollar range. Rios is out of my size and color until November. Saw some less than stellar reviews on the Tecovas, but also some good ones. I'm guessing there is quite a few companies that could meet the aforementioned criteria, plus a Western heel, prefer a round or medium round toe, size 12D. Just thought, instead of waiting for a review, do you have any recommendations? Thanks. Joe.
Hey Joe, Rujo has boots like that if you're looking for something that's not Tecovas. I can't fit in Tecovas but Rujo works for me. Here's my video on Rujo ua-cam.com/video/3mM7Rs5TGFI/v-deo.html
Nice boots bro.ive been wearing cowboy boots all my life out of six brother's I'm the only one that wears western wear my dad and mom always ever since I could remember they would buy me alot of different ones red ones blue ones black ones white ones all the colors that you can think of they were ostrich print boots still have them I'm 28.my kids are now wearing them now.i love exotics I have several pairs my favorite ones are my lucchese classics alligator hornback boots have had them for 10 years now they are are tough as nails this gator skin is really tough.next would be another alligator boots tail cut these were made by another fantastic company black jack boots amazing boots.third would have to be these Tony lama red ostrich full quill boots awesome boots I've also got some cuadra blue clemaris full quill boots the best Mexican leather boots in my opinion.and third I've got some stingray leather boots male stingray these are made by los altos these boots are also very tough and soft leather not stiff at all like others I've tried.oh and I forgot I still have some pangolin boots as well very rare boots they don't make them out of this leather no more.they now are making boots out of a fish from Brazil pirarucu fish similar to pangolin also nice but not the same.

@@JeremiahCraig yes. Cowboy boots are extremely American and are rich in history. But I love all boots I like combat boots also. I'm wearing a pair of jet black cowboy boots now cowboy boots look wicked in jet black
well damn. ive been waiting on Arian Ramblers until they had them back in stock..........now what do I do. I want a simple boot not tall, all day wear that looks good worn in too..........dang it.
Hay Jeremiah! I'm just curious. I read your reviews! It does seem that the market is diverse and you should be too. I own 2 pairs of Tecovas, which are nice boots at a fair price, but there are alot of really nice looking boots out there and some new companies emerging with good products at good prices too. I'm getting an education on fine products, thanks to you! Keep up the good work! Billy T. In Alabamy
Keep up the good work. I've learned alot from you. I have 2 pair of Tecovas and may get more. The market out there appears to be good and very competitive. Nothing like that smell of good leather! That's a lifelong love for me! Billy T. In Alabamy
It’s a travesty what the brothers did to Nocona the boot and the town. I have bought several pairs of old Naconas and almost every pair is incredible and a favorite to wear. I too, think old school Naconas may have been one of the finest fitting production boots ever made. If anyone knows of current boots made by the fine makers in Nacona, let me know.
Fenoglio boots are made in Nocona and have some folks who used to work at the old Nocona boots factory. I hope to get the chance to try some of their boots in 2021. They are top of my list right now
Question regarding Boulet boots and the Canadian sizing. Boulet says go down half a size because they run big. I wear a 12d.. I bought some Boulet's 11 1/2.. has it been anyone's experience that you actually have to go down a whole size? Because the 11 1/2 seem a little big still.. I like Boulet quality, but I insist that they fit right.
I've had to go down a whole size on french toe boots or wide square from Boulet but only when coming from a round toe. An 11D Tony Lama medium round toe works the same as a 10E Boulet french toe for me because there's just more room in a french toe shape. But 11D Tony Lama round toe is a 10.5E Boulet round toe for me. If you have a preferred toe shape I'd say try their half size rule and make sure to choose a similar toe shape as your other boots
@@JeremiahCraig l still think that you should have your foot measured and get the boot in that size . If the boot company doesn't carry them or won't special order them , find a company that does . I just got my first pair of Olathes and am looking forward to wearing them . Please do a review on them sometime. I have been wearing boots for over 50 years . The traditional made boots are the best . Glad you picked the Noconas as your first pick . That being said, why didn't the Dan Posts place higher ?
My favorite so far has been the Levi's 527 but it all depends on your preferences and style. I regularly try different jeans with boots on this channel as well. Here's a playlist! - ua-cam.com/play/PLE4gSiIJBags0hzfI2MP7MFoJ_Teev79-.html

Yes I guessed your number 1 correct! Think you got it right with "Old boots got Soul", plus they have the correct width fitting. Still not feeling the love for those vegan monstrosities?
Why can't I find their own website for Rock and Roll Cowboy western clothing how did this type of western clothing come about who owns and makes rock and roll cowboy western clothing could you let me know
Those are amazing! Since I tried the Yeehaw boots last year I didn't wear the natural caimans this year after I got the boot for the video. If I was to include them here they probably would have gotten the number 3 spot. Yeehaw boots got number 1 last year though! Love those boots!
He didn't do a long term review of those. I would put them up high on the list, but then I might be bias as I am currently wearing the very pair. "Step in the strongest way"
The best thing to do is go to a boot store and ask for help. This person should be able to guide you in finding a comfortable well fitting boot. Just remember that the leather on your boots will from to your foot and loosen up over time, do not buy a boot that is to loose, especially on the in step. For a pair of boots I would recommend Double-H boots especially their square toes because not only are they steel toed boots but they give your toes some wiggle room.
Hi Alex! It's tough to make a recommendation because there are so many factors that go into it. The best thing to do is what others here have suggested. Go to a store, get sized by a pro and try on a lot of boots till you know what you like. If you can't do that I have some other tips here at this video but trying on boots at a store is always your best bet. ua-cam.com/video/ESugSc6KROY/v-deo.html
Jeremiah you have to try Tecovas boots they are all hand made very hard to beat. I just got a pair model The Dean one of their favorites. Check them out.

I love my Nocona boots... I have two pair, both bought used, and they are excellent!
11:20 I use my old justin boots for yard work and used em 2 dig up my septic tank the other day
Thank You Very Much For Sharing.. What Do You Think About M.L. Leddy Boots? Would You Try A M.L. Leddy Boot?
I got a pair of Noconas in the reptile/snakeskin lowers and leather uppers boots. They appear all original and very lightly worn. They look just like the pair redone on the channel here by the 2 young cobbler guys who redo rather nice shoes and some boots. Mine are 7.5D size likely from the 1990s.... I am taking a guess.
Sounds like awesome boots!
Boot-y boot-y boot-y boot-y rocking everywhere.
I've never felt like dancing to a comment as much as I feel like dancing to this one
Ariat heritage Ropers are amazing for the price. They are my beater boots. I wear them a lot.
JC, love the new graphics and ranking scale on the year end review.
Awesome!
That rack behind Jeremiah Craig should be filled with black leather cowboy boots!!!
I definitely stay clear of the “clompier” boots 😂🤣🤣
Those clompier boots are awkward!
Awesome List! Looking into a new pair of boots. Intrigued by many here. Ari.Ramblers are cool -- I think the chelsea version looks better.
Love your positive vibes
Thanks! Cheers. I appreciate seeing you in the comments and on the live streams!
Jeremiah Craig of course! If you got a minute... check out this band: king sol & the vibes. I’m the guitar player. Perhaps one day... a jam. Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁
Those red boots would also be great for Chiefs games. 😊
More Boot Jacks will be available tonight! That's an epic top lineup you got!
#1 is killer love the red highlights on black . #2 one day.. one day soon!
Thanks Drifter! Chisos is awesome! Hope you can get them soon!
Hey Jeremiah (an awesome name btw I absolutely love it lol) your channel is amazing! It inspired me to buy my first pair of cowboy boots, even though I live in the UK! Great video as always :)
That's awesome Zach! What boots did you get?? Thanks for watching!
Yes another boot wearer in the UK!
Wtf man... Buuuuh )
Sendra is on my list!! Hopefully with the increase in popularity of boots you get some more options soon
Can you wear cowboy boots in the snow? Do you need to spray them?
Some boots are better than others in the snow. I made a video about it a couple years ago when I had lots of hair: ua-cam.com/video/HPXEnQAoiLI/v-deo.html
@@JeremiahCraig Thank you…
Jeremiah, asked your friend Nick to do a particular type of review, and thought i'd run it by you as well.
@@JeremiahCraig Thanks. I meant Rujo, not Rios, but they are out of the Duke in black 12D til at least November.
Did I just hear Bills game? Lol Go Bills from a fan from Buffalo, NY. Ps it's our year 🤠
Have you ever tried the Ariat Heritage R Toe Western Boot? Probably the most comfortable western boot I have ever owned. Very soft leather.
Nice video :) like the Cowboy boot type boots :)
Great Video and back to just bad ass quality Nocona... Semper Fidelis Nocona...
Thanks! Gotta love those old Noconas!
you have to find boots that fit, and fit well. good luck. be safe. these boots were made for walking' .... ~ JDS/CT
True that! Thanks so much Jonathan!
Great Video!! Thanks Jeremiah!
Thought you did some Tecovas this year. Or was that last year? How would they rank?
I think they ranked 8 in 2019, this year they would've ranked in the 6th spot most likely

well i can never get a comfortable pair cowboy boots, but id try a pair Nocona Shrunken Shoulder Boots 11.5
I don't go for roper boots . I just like regular cowboy boots with a high shaft and 2 inch heels
I like those kinds better too
@@JeremiahCraig yes.
Jeremiah, I didn't notice any Tecovas making your list. Did you not consider any of their boots as good as the others?
Tecovas made the list last year! - ua-cam.com/video/Q2PbQ0gq5ko/v-deo.html
They are above average and hover around the 7 to 5 spots for me
Hay Jeremiah!

Keep up the good work. I've learned alot from you. I have 2 pair of Tecovas and may get more. The market out there appears to be good and very competitive. Nothing like that smell of good leather! That's a lifelong love for me!

They are top of my list right now
Great video, cheers bud glad they worked so well.
Dude they were perfect! Thanks so much!
How are you finding the Kangaroo boots Aaron?
@@sailingneil I like them a lot! They are too nice to beat up at work, but they get nights and weekends lol.
@@JeremiahCraig lol no problem, thanks for the 🦘 you’re comments on the vegan boots had me laughing.
@Aaron Watson haha they were the worst!
Also if it seems big then it probably is so don't be afraid to ignore their recommendations for what you find most comfortable
Thanks for getting back that's good information.. I was looking to get a wide square toe from Boulet next..Thanks!
Great video mate, gonna look for noconas in Mexico 😉
Thanks Eduardo! Cheers buddy
I'd like to see you try out the Chisos #5 rough outs!!
I would love to try those too!

What time frame were Nocona boots really good quality?
I wold like to see your review for a Sendra cowboy boots it's a Spanish brand , i think that you'll love them
What jeans do you prefer ? Thanks
My favorite so far has been the Levi's 527 but it all depends on your preferences and style. I regularly try different jeans with boots on this channel as well. Here's a playlist! - ua-cam.com/play/PLE4gSiIJBags0hzfI2MP7MFoJ_Teev79-.html

I like my Ariat Ramblers. They are my beater boots. Nothing special and no one to impress!
What about the Yeehaw natural caiman? I bought those boots after a saw your review. I love them.

Hey, I'm about 5'3-5'4 and wear a 7 1/2 tennis shoes. What size boot would you recommend its my 1st time buying boots
I wear 10.5 in tennis shoes and wear a 10 in boots. Its best to try them on though. Different brands fit a little different
Cant wait
